Pregnant Ladies with Belly Rings
Hello Ladies,
I have a question for those who have belly rings. I've had my pierced for seven years now and I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant with my first. When I was 16 weeks or so I put one of those long, flexible 2" pregnancy bars in. I'm just noticing the last week or so that the skin right around the top hole is slightly pink but there is no pain, warmth, swelling, discharge or any other sign of infection at all. The bottom hole is fine. I wash it every night with antibacterial soap and it doesn't hurt to move the bar up and down at all. There is no swelling and other then the slight pinkness on the top hole the piercing looks really good.
I haven't gotten any stretch marks on my belly yet, could this be the upper hole stretching a bit with my recent growth spurt?
Thanks!
I had a friend who had a belly ring as well. I'm not sure if kept something in the to keep it open but her top hol looked kind of bad, like a scar. But she is African american as well and we tend to scar differently.
I say talk to your Doc about it next time you see him/her.
I wore my regular 16g belly ring through both pregnancies, until the last month or so when my belly button was inside out and poking out like a nipple. It had been pierced for 5 years when I had my first child, and it didn't grow up. What's funny (kind of) is that my belly button isn't anywhere near the same as it was pre-pregnancy.. I had it pierced on the bottom because at the time that was where the "lip" was, and now my navel is totally repositioned, but I still have the ring because I like it and nobody sees it anyhow. Back then you could buy a piercing needle and do it yourself. My current fiancee' did mine when I was 16!
My SIL bought a maternity belly bar when she was pregnant, it;s just longer to allow for your expanding bump. :o)
ok Im 22 and I really want my belly button pierced. I did it once when I was 13 and that didnt go so well. My best friend has hers still and she got it when she was 16/17. But is it still ok that i get it even though im older now?
