That's nice I guess. But I am sorry, this person is not physically a "man"...if you have eggs, a uterus and you are still using them...you are biologically a female and doing those female things.  I am kind of annoyed that they are sensationalizing this...like they are breaking all barriers or something. In reality, I could be a "pregnant man" too if I cut off my breasts, took enough hormones and grew a beard. 

Call it what it is...a trans-gender female (male) who wants to be a man, but who still wants to utilize her/his female goodies for reproduction.

It's all so confusing.

I tend to agree with hawley on this subject. What I want to know is what is the wife? If I remember correctly she claims to be heterosexual. But if he did not have the bottom half surgery done, that makes her what? Bisexual? I think it is strange all the way around. Not because of the trans gender thing, but the indecisiveness of it all. It seems they are both claiming to be all of the above, even if they don't come right out and say it.

I had to post because I think this is ridiculous...

"he" (legally is a he) was born a FEMALE.

Female decides that she wants to be a man or always felt that she should have been born a male so she has her breast removed and other surgeries done to make her look more male and to be classified as a male. She gets a name change and a birth certificate stating that she is now a male.

Newly legalized and classified Male is with a woman who he loves..

She can not get pregnant so HE decides to get  inseminated so they can have a child....

He gives birth...

WHAT IS SO INTERESTING ABOUT THAT??? Dude has female parts because he used to be a she....

NOW Like other posters stated... If HE was always A HE and never had a vagina then it would be a TOTALLY different story and of course media worthy..

I once knew a man who wore pantyhose instead of underwear underneath his suit. He liked the way they felt. I still can't figure out why.

As for unisex bathrooms, I'm all for them. I couldn't care less if a man or a woman is peeing in the stall next to me. I used to use the men's bathroom stall to pee when I was at work because the woman's toilet only had 4 stalls so there was always a lineup when I was busy. The smell of the urinal (men lack aim when they're drunk) was a bit icky but there are ways around that.

I don't know. I had a roomate who was male-to-female transgendered. She had a girlfriend and once my Dad asked me "does that make your roommate a lesbian?" I realized that a)I didn't know and b)it didn't really matter that much to me what the correct label was. I'm just kind of hoping Fred Phelps is surfing the web and stumbles across this paragraph and it makes his head explode--oh, did I mention they were also an interracial couple?

 Interracial ? Wow !!...you NEVER see that in this day and age...scandalous !

 Well, imagine you are on a first date and you both need to use the  unisex restroom at a posh restaurant. In the stall next to you is your date...you feel a rumble in your stomach...lunch just did not agree with you....

This must not be the same couple I saw on Oprah years ago. They were both Caucasian. You are referring to the Oprah couple as interracial and not your friends Right!? Anyway race doesn't matter and neither does what they call themselves. I just remember them from before and I know she said she was hetero, if the total sex change was not done, I can't see how her claims are accurate.

I am concerned for the children here. Like I said before kids can be very cruel and even if the parents handle this in the best way possible, there will be some emotional baggage here. But I would much rather have these children born to these parents than to abusive ones that are naturally male and female. The sad part is abusive parents exist and will continue to exist no matter what we do.

Well, maybe they should rule out calling anyone "Mother or Father" just call them Parental Units...or just by their first names. Mother's day and Fathers day should be nixed as well...just have a unified "Parent's Day".

Medical science could also possibly create an interchangeable uterus that could be switched so the Parental Units could take turns throwing up and retaining water while carrying the child.  They could flip a coin for the last trimester.

Also..when the child is born...no special attention for the birthing Parental Unit..that would show favoritism. No pink or blue. Everything non-gender specific until the child chooses what gender it wishes to be. If it even chooses.
