The pregnant man is happy to be pregnant again.

That's nice I guess. But I am sorry, this person is not physically a "man"...if you have eggs, a uterus and you are still using them...you are biologically a female and doing those female things.  I am kind of annoyed that they are sensationalizing this...like they are breaking all barriers or something. In reality, I could be a "pregnant man" too if I cut off my breasts, took enough hormones and grew a beard.

Call it what it is...a trans-gender female (male) who wants to be a man, but who still wants to utilize her/his female goodies for reproduction.

It's all so confusing.

Once again, I don't believe her statement was bigoted.  Uninformed, yes.

For some people, who don't pay very much attention, this is all new territory.  People have alot of learning to do about this subject.  I think this is one of those cases.

Note: I'm not saying that I agree with her...because I don't.  i simply think it was an uninformed statement.

y'know, peaches, this self-appointed defender-of-the-ignorant-conservatives role does not serve you well.  how about you let people speak for themselves.

I believe I have the right to defend whoever I want to.  conservative has nothing to do with it.  I'm sorry you think that those are the only people that I would "defend".  I know nothing about her political views, by the way.

Maybe I'm just more willing to give people the benefit of the doubt instead of automatically jumping to the worst conclusions about them.

having said that, I'm out of here.  I apologize to the OP for having gone a bit off topic.

Peace.

Whoa, whoa.  That wasn't nice.  Being conservative doesn't make you ignorant.  I'm a moderate-to-conservative and I consider myself informed.  My opinion is usually different, but we can all make our points of view understood from an informed standpoint.

If that's not what you were implying, disregard this, however you may want to consider rephrasing that, because it's kind of insulting to the informed right-wingers.

kizzi, that's why i specified "ignorant conservatives" rather than generalizing to all conservatives.  i know there are lots of well-informed, intelligent conservatives; they don't seem to need peaches's services.

edit: you're a good example of the latter sort of conservative.  you and i don't always agree, but i respect the fact that you've come to your opinions through genuine reflection and exploration.

Thank you.  And yeah, it was just the hyphens that made me misinterpret it.  So yay!

i know i over-hyphenate.  it's a protest against the anti-hyphenation movement ;)

I'm sure its members are thinking of various ways to torture you with punctuation in retaliation right now.

edit: not worth my breath to get upset about the transracial intermarriage of italians and americans or lesbian transgendered and transexual men.  someone just buzz me when the learning is getting handed out, appears some people were dropped from the list.

Lets see-I live in the same town with these people.  I've never heard anything bad about them, only good wishes.  They're not quite my next door neighbors, but in Bend, Oregon with our relatively small population, they might as well be.  I have made a public offer to provide alterations for clothing if necessary--No, I don't want money or notariety, just offering a Christian hand in case they need one.  I wish them all the best; for a happy marriage and the ability to raise their children with love and compassion, and hopefully guiding them in the ways of morality and human decency.  I neither condem, nor condone their actions.  I'll leave that up to Him.  I also wish this thread would end.

Well then i guess...good for her!

that would be god, monarch.

fairydust and jblarghp, the likelihood that either of you is going to fathom the difference between anatomy and gender identity seems slim, so i won't bother.  suffice it to say you both have a lot to learn.

I'm perfectly aware that he was born transgendered, felt conflicted about his sex, so had his outward appearance changed. I get it.

My point is, this isn't some sort of crazy miracle. This isn't really a man giving birth. It really shouldn't shock anyone. He was born a woman, and chose to keep all his reproductive organs intact.

exactly s/he was born a woman, plain and simple. this is a woman that gave birth, it didnt magically happen. She just wants be a man, feels like a man, looks like a man.

if it's the media's coverage you object to, why not say that instead of denying the guy his identity?
