Prenatal Vitamins

Quote  |  Reply

Sorry if this has been asked before but I was thinking about how tired I am all the time and was wondering if these vitamins might help give me a little more energy.

I am not pregnant nor planning on getting pregnant anytime soon.

I don't think my prenatal vitamins ever gave me extra energy, but have you tried a vitamin formulated for energy?  One A Day makes an Energy formula, and it really works!  It wakes me up without that jittery feeling.  It comes in pill form as well as powder that can be mixed into water.  I'd recommend that since you don't actually need all the increased vitamins that a prenatal would offer.

Like Cecily, my prenatals did nothing for my energy level. I'm also anemic so taking extra iron helps for me. If you're super fatigued all the time, you might want to call your doctor and talk to him/her about it. I would sleep for 10 hours+ at night and wake up exhausted, feeling like I hadn't slept at all.

When not pregnant/nursing, I take a vitamin called "Super B Complex" that really gives me a boost. It's just a combination of different B vitamins. I think I got it at a local health food store. I know a lot of pharmacies give B12 shots which I've heard does wonders for energy levels.

Good luck!

I swear by GNC B-Well Complex.  It's a multi-vit made for women w/ extra B's.  If I don't take 2 at night; I feel it during the day.  I think GNC is promoting them w/ a buy-one-get-one-free.

Vanessa, you take them at night? They don't keep you awake?  If I take my One A Day in the afternoon, I'll be up all night.  I have to take them with breakfast so they wear off by bedtime.
