Was Not Prepared for TV Analog to Digital Switch

And I've been enjoying the quiet!

We'll probably be connecting everything up this weekend but I was just wondering how many other people have been without TV this past week.

Hm. My husband is an IT so we've had a lot high tech new gadgets/devices/game systems/toys/Etc. Updated newest versions blah blah. Neither of us are much for television though. We each have certain shows we enjoy to watch. We've always just streamed them online after they air on tv. Or: Bought the box set in Dvd's after the season is complete. We didn't even purchase a tv the first six years we were married. My husband was given a 19inch little Sony tv though from a friend being stationed overseas. ( Before we were even met. ) We used that tv with public broadcasting for years. We rarely ever turned it on unless to play a dvd/game. Or: Check local tornado status. Lol! We only needed public broadcasting for the weather updates. The rest of the time we used it to watch dvd's and play game systems. Or: Saw movies via the theater/or rented new releases. We just aren't tv in general or couch potato people. If you live in a condo/community you have to purchase cable to pickup a signal sometimes. It's total bs to have to pay for basic cable just to pick up a signal for public broadcasting, imho. The only thing we need public broadcasting for is severe weather updates. ( Tornado season/Etc ) Sometimes they allow you to just pay a small fee for the signal for public. Sometimes they don't. . .So we've had to purchase cable before but it's not a priority/must. It's expensive, unnecessary, and rarely used by us. We recently bought a new HD TV because the old one we used busted. It's electronics so my husband decided if we going to buy a new tv. . .We might as well buy the newest/best version available. It wasn't purchased until we actually needed to buy another as replacement. If: Our old one hadn't busted we probably wouldn't have bought a new one at all. Tv: Isn't needed for us to stay up to date. If: It wasn't affordable to us we wouldn't have replaced it. Period. We would've just continued to use other things instead without much change. :) Until it was within our budget.

I'm married to a very high tech man and I can honestly say...

Some of the most high tech people do not watch loads of cable/tv. =-P Watching/having digital tv doesn't make you high tech, Lol. Some people have tv on just to be on,imo. Or: It's just playing in the background all day long, etc. Some people actually try to watch/leave it on during dinner too. That would just be a bother to us.
