Weight Loss
Moderators: duke3522, devilish_patsy, topanga1485, nycgirl, spoiled_candy, cmillington, coach_k Pretty funny question but...How do you lose man boobs?
Would anyone like to answer? Just diet and excercise or what?

You need to do cardio to lose fat. Doing muscle-building exercise in that area without doing cardio will make them more pronounced. Cardio is the key.
And a healthy diet, of course. Are you tracking your intake on CC?
Losing fat is the main way-- diet + cardio.
I've also heard that incline bench press will help with the shape. But losing the fat is the most important part. And it may be that your body stores fat there first, and burns it from there last, which means that you'll have to lose fat from everywhere else first.

LOL! There was a thread about this in Digg yesterday. I shoulda grabbed it. My boyfriend had man boobs and just by doing a lot of chest exercises, like bench presses, he lost em. Plus losing weight will bring them down naturally.
I just want to add that if it's actually "Gynecomastia" then you may need to seek medical attention.
I had a reduction about 15 years ago. Can they do that for men.? I don't see why not. My sister wanted what I was getting rid of. You know how that goes.

unfortunately, you can't *spot* reduce ~ just point to a part of our body and say "body! take away the fat from there!!!"
i soooo wish! we could bottle that and become rich ~ lol ;)
sooooo, they should reduce from 2 things; losing weight if you are overweight and also from converting extra body fat into lean muscle ~ which means focusing on strength & resistance exercise...
but don't stop cardio exercise or flexibility training either, because all types of exercise help us get healthier ;)
and as you get closer to your goal, you won't see the scale change so much, but you should see results with the tape measurer and stuff like calipers (or no longer be able to pinch that inch... so to speak ;)
hope this helped :)

Heh. Any pills that claim to reduce the size and number of fat cells is ridiculous. Even if they could, there would very likely be severe side effects. And somehow it's supposed to target the fat cells in a specific part of the body? There would be a lot of press about something that was proven to do that. And I'm not talking about supplement magazines, etc. You would see reports on the news and in the newspapers. I think it may be possible from what I've heard about some of the brain tumor research going on, but it's not something you'll find only on their website. You'd be able to find studies on it.
As Mr. Garrison on Southpark would put it "Drugs are bayd." I have tried a number of drugs for fat loss, including ones that claim that they "spot reduce." Even if they did work a little bit, some made me fell funny and as soon as I quit taking them I gained it all back and then some. Nothing as good as diet and exercise. Just be patient.
it depends how extreme, some cases surgery needs to be done because of something with the tissue there. Its actually common in men. But otherwise id say chest exercises and lower body fat %, you can do things such as pushups for example would help. I should be a pro at this actually consider i have no chest :P haha
Yea I agree with what everybody said but they aren't being very specific. If you search Bodybuilding.com for anti-Estrogenic food sources you'll find out what kind of diet is necessary. Broccoli for example is anti-Estrogenic. Also I agree with people who say doing chest work will help, however like one person said it will make it seem more pronounced INITIALLY. The reason is that your chest will not be fully developed and you might think your making it worst YOU ARE NOT.
The other thing to remember is total body development. A lot of people stress over chest and arm exercises and neglect Shoulders, Legs and Back, if you truly want to look good you have to get total development. I don't know what your current weight routine is but I would suggest that you seek one that gives you total development and focus on it. Focus on cardio may eventually cause you to lose muscle if you don't include a weight routine, which will look worst than man boobs.
Hope that helps/
