Is there a way to print out just my food log for the week, besides just printing the entire web page that the report appears on?
Yes. Select just the part of the page that you want, then copy & paste wherever you like (you can paste it directly into a spreadsheet, which is quite neat).
Yeah, I've tried copy and pasting, but the font sizes and columns are all messed up. I tried both spreadsheet and word processing. Maybe it's something with the website and a mac. I can't do a screen-save either because it only captures one screen at a time and won't scroll. No big deal, I'll just print out the whole thing. Just would be neater if there was a print version available.
Okay, I just did it by copying and pasting into Word. HOWEVER, I had to do it one line at a time. Don't know if this helps or not. Good luck!
Yes, copy & paste to text or WP is a bit problematic but it works perfectly for me (a whole month at a time) into my OpenOfficeOrg spreadsheet, or at least it would if I was in the US or the UK (where a ',' is used to separate groups of 3 digits, e.g. 2,000, which I think applies in all English-speaking countries, while the international standard, which obviously applies here in France, is to use a '.' for that purpose, thus 2.000, the ',' being used for a "decimal point"). Thus, when I import say total calorie figures (e.g. 2,689) I get what you would think of as 2.69 (specifically "2,69" which is fine because that really is 2.69k).
OK, I figured it out. Maybe this is only good for those who have a mac, but instead of using Page or Word, I used a program called TextEdit (find it in the application folder). Then I cut and pasted the report of my food log. Setup the page in landscape, not portrait. You might have to spread the columns a bit, but that's done by pointing to the right edge of the column that's not wide enough and then dragging.
This was a good exercise. Now I've just got the log, without all the other stuff on that webpage. Thanks for the help. I'm a new member to this site, and I'm enjoying it so far.
I agree it would be nice to print directly from the webpage. My naturopathic doctor likes to take a peek at my menus once in a while. I have tried cut and paste into Excel but every line gets squeezed into a single cell, then the next line, etc. It's time consuming to separate each bit of information into separate cells again to keep the information easier to read and to sum columns.
a printer friendly button would be nice for food logs, analysis, activities, etc.
Since we're suggesting a "print display" enhancement to the techies, I'd like to suggest we be able to customize columns on our report.
For example, weight grams is unimportant to me except that when I eat, it should be one serving. However, I do count fiber and carbos in addition to calories. So it would be neat to see a display with calories, grams of fiber, and grams of carbohydrates in each column.
