Is there a problem with CC's Nutrition Grade
Apologies if this topic exists elsewhere. Tried a search and couldn't find.
I signed up to Calorie Count two weeks ago, and I've played close attention to the "Nutrition Grade". Up until Yesterday, I had several A, A-, B+.
I've just logged in and noticed the grades have changed. To be replaced C's and C-'s (with the odd B-) across the board.
Anyone aware of any problems?
Reason: Moved from Weight Loss forum to Calorie Count forum
Do you mean individual foods have changed or your overall grade for the day?
Hi Gi-Jane,
Its my overall grade for the day and overall grade for a given period of days (i.e. Analysis)
Yes, I've got the same problem, all my grades have gone down a notch! I had A- for the whole of last month and it is now B-!
The last two days are pretty bad grades too, and they were not at the time. And I wasted quite a lot of time earlier today trying to understand why a perfectly healthy meal plan for the day was only giving me a B!
Something's gone wrong, help! ![]()
Am not aware of any analysis problems. Just checked on mine and all is well. However I will let the higher-ups know there may be potential.
I'm having the same problem, I've been getting mostly As and Bs over last week, and today (so far) it's given me a C and I can't figure out why :S
another CC question... i noticed this morning that when i input my weight (which had gone up only by 1 pound, that my expected target date was pushed ahead a whole MONTH !!! for one pound??? yikes - deleted that weigh in yes I did !!
Thought that was weird as usually a pound weight gain or loss doesn't affect the target date that drastically !
weird
Yes, and when clicking on the + button in the food log, instead of coming up with the amount that is there already, you now have to re-select your amount...
As I was browsing the forum this morning, I was interrupted by a 'Maintenance in Process' type message. Perhaps something went slightly wrong during the maintenance process?
Not sure if there are other problems with CC today.
I came across this post relating to tags.

I don't use tags, so unable to confirm.
I went and checked my analysis just for today, and I have to say, there must be something wrong with it. Of my graded foods, I have 2 As, 1 A-, and 1 B+....somehow on my analysis this comes out to a B. Make sense? I think not.
No! No! No!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT a B+ for all of last month!!!! ![]()
Noooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't Bear That!!!!!!!!!!!! I am ALWAYS getting A's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]()
Why, oh, WHY, CC!!!!!! ![]()
DON'T take my GRADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]()

Thanks for noticing this, omac112211-- I'd thought the tagging was aggravating enough today-- but this feels worse, lol!!!!!!! ![]()
same problem here. when i logged on this morn it said site was down for maintenance and then when it did log in I can't scroll through my tags, the add your own foods thing isn;t worked and, yes, my grades have all changed too over the last month!
aggh - and now it is like 6 hours later and still not been fixed - come on CC!! sort it!! (or at least do a blog acknowledging there is a problem and you are trying to fix it!)
Ok... maybe this will be fixed soon... the tag problem has gotten fixed now, for me at least... Hopefully all issues will improve directly... ![]()
Yeah, me too. I just logged the exact same stuff today as I did for a week ago (I guess I'm in a rut). It gave me an A last time, today B-.
I'm gutted, really.
* BIG sigh of relief! * ![]()
My Lovely Grades are all fixed!!!!! ![]()
Getting C+ was pitiful for Today-- but ALL of last month being B+ was Awful!!! ![]()
I really DO Care about those Grades, lol!!! Glad to get all my A's back!!! ![]()
There are a LOT of problems with the CC nutritional grades other than a momentary glitch; I actually recommend that you ignore them. CC gives high grades to many foods that include high amounts of added sugar and corn syrup, overly refined carbs, and bad fats just so long as they add a dose of vitamins. In contrast, CC gives very low grades to some nutritionally superior but calorically dense foods, such as peanut butter and yogurt.
So long as plain 2% greek yogurt gets a C+ and sugary cereals get As, I don't think the nutritional grades are worth the pixels they are displayed with. Personally, I wish they would just make the feature optional, as I think it creates a messed up incentive structure for choosing foods.
Basically, imho, if you care too much about the grade you are getting on CC, chances are you are doing so at the expense of a healthy diet.
All now seems to be resolved with the CC nutritional grades.
Hi Coreyander
Rest assured, the nutritional grades of CC, are not the be all and end all, of me monitoring what I eat. Its just an additional 'extra'.
Ummmm............. Fear not, Coreyander! I figure most folks figure out pretty fast that the grades are odd in spots, lol! ![]()
That irks me, too... ![]()
I'm quite strictly 'clean' and very healthy in my diet-- even canning my own fresh foods and soups-- so the end-of-the-day A grades I'm used to were quite easy to attain, for 2 years now... Today was a real shock, lol! ![]()
My past did include extra fruit at the end of the day to boost that grade! It really bugged me to see less than A!!! However, I believe junk in a low-calorie 'Budget,' is simply silly for me-- even if it had a good grade. A long-term, low-cal diet is too risky with our many nutritional needs... I saw a Nutritionist and shared what she gave me-- it's one of the highest tagged things in CC, I was surprised to see-- so real Nutrition is my real focus! I like seeing it in my grades, too!!! ![]()

I don't care too much, at the expense of my healthy diet! But... I actually DO Care, lol! ![]()
Glad it's fixed! ![]()

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
