@neoncupcakes

you are my twin. i get what you are going through 100%. Its really late here and I'm on the internet? Problem is, tomorrow's my last day of school; I'm to excited to go to sleep!

Also...I kind of challenge myself almost exactly like you do. My parents say they dont care about grades because I probably put enough pressure on myself haha. with all honors, AP courses, advanced math, piano (eight years now), sports, social life, and everything, times get hectic!

My advice? If I really really need it, I take a nap. It does mess up your internal clock but I dont care. If I am really tired, I am going to take a nap!

Studying for exams:

Instead of going to bed at two and waking up maybe about 7 for school, try going to bed at midnight and wake up 45 minutes early. Yes, it is still late to go to bed but better than what you're doing at the moment.

When/if you get home after the exam, refuel in all aspects. Have a snack and take a nap. You'll feel energized and ready to go.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL TOMORROW. I BET YOURS IS CLOSE TOO AND THEN ITS SUMMER TIME! (9 hours, 40 minutes, 15 seconds and counting)

that BMI sounds awfully low for someone so tall, and you should not be trying to loose any more weight. Personally, you DO sound like you are developing an ED and i think you should seek help before it gets too out of hand, which it will. Yes, in my opinion 1500 calories is a good amount for most people to loose weight on. you are trying to maintain and 1500 is far too little for you to maintain on. Push your calories up to 1800-1900, count for a while but gradually steer away from counting and try to rely more on your body to tell you what it needs.

thanks for the advice! I have always been small...everyone thought I was going to be the short one (I did too!) turns out, we were all wrong. people who I only see once a year were shocked. I grew immensely and kind of just sprung up.

I'm still growing. Thanks for the advice! I will definitely increase my calorie consumption!

I don't want to sound harsh, but you are freaking 15 years old. Stop worrying/thinking about how you look and how much you weigh and counting calories. Eat healthy, play outside, exercise once your back is healed.

I can't believe people at your age are so consumed by their looks and weight. Save yourself the stress. You are clearly at a very adequate weight so keep doing what you are doing. Eat more if you are hungry or if you feel like your energy levels are down.

I just want to be more tone. I don't really care to much about the calories anymore and just want to become more fit. I am 15. I want to learn about nutrition and physical fitness now so I'll be informed for the future! I honestly am not freaking out about it. I dont want to lose more! tone!!! theres a difference. once i swim and run again, the calorie intake will go up. I currently get all of the essential vitamins and nutrients and always exceed vitamin C and more.

I did notice that I did exceed the fat intake by large amounts (and i mean a lot) before I started. I wasn't eating very healthy. I try to get a B in nutrition..sometime achieve, don't make, or succeed.

Thank you for saying the last thing; I eat when I'm hungry, don't when I'm not, and I even eat when I'm full:)

Try to avoid bananas, grapes, raisins, and pineapples. Sorry, but they make you weight more because they cause you to hold water. So they aren't unhealthy, they just make you weigh more.

please explain how you got to this conclusion hahaha even if you hold water, you lose water weight easily. bathroom, sweating, etc

I just found something out. I am eating a decent amount of veggies and fruits and healthy things but if I cut out sugar and stuff my daily calorie total would go down to like 1100 calories a day. Are there any high calorie vegetables and fruits?

Young Calorie Counters Calories for teenagers? Jun 04 2012

Original Post by sdeslip:

The minimum caloric intake for a teenager should NOT be 800. That is incredibly dangerous to your health.

A healthy target number depends on how active you are. in order to lose weight, I would suggest consuming 1500 (healthy!) calories every day. Your body uses 2000 calories to function each day, so by eating 1500, you burn at least 500 calories each day and will be sure to lose weight as long as you are following a proper health style (healthy eating, exercise, etc...)

But to make a long story short, 1500 is a solid number. But can be increased when you increase your exercise and decreased when you become less active (both in moderation!)

hope this helps!

i concur! I've been eating about 1,500 calories a day and have lost five pounds in five weeks. I don't even feel like I have drastically changed my diet or anything...I just avoid cheese and oreos at times and other fattening foods

gooood luck!

Young Calorie Counters crush HELP!? Jun 04 2012

yes share the deets please....

advice wise? school partners at first is a great way to learn a lot about someone. People think, cool, you studied together. but i say NO! you learn there personality, how they think, what they care about, trust me. i makes some sense at least

i speak from experience. you do a project with a guy you "like" where does he look when you are talking to him? does he smile? laugh? ask how he can help?

also speaking from experience, the "opposite attract" thing really does play a role into relationship in my opinion. some similarites are necessary cause then you dont have common intrests to talk about. however, if you do the exact same things, you can never learn from each other.

sorry for the ramble. learn more about the guy and who knows? maybe something will happen?

good luck! again, please tell us what happenss even if it doesn't work out:( learn from experience:)

For women the rule of thumb is 100 pounds for the first five feet and 5 pounds for each remaining inch. You should be around 135 pounds. You are not fat. If you still think that you are fat, dont lose, tone! If you get any lighter you will be underweight. Do not lose. You are beautiful just the way you are.

yes yes yes!! tone tone tone. dont lose. hey im 15 5'7 and 115. I actually was 120 when i first came on this and lost about a pound a week. now i want to tonneee. you know, flatter stomach and all that stuff.

if you want to be buddies, just message me! I kinda want someone I can generally message from time to time about food, exercises, and that sort of stuff. I'm past the losing weight part. Now I want to maintain and eat watermelon all day long and not be embarrassed by my huge food baby :)

Watch a little more what you put in your body? Calories is one thing, nutrition is another.

Sorry I know that wasn't the best advice...

I would check out the outlets near you for the best deals money wise. The closest one to me is over thirty minutes away so when we go, we make the best of it.

Where I usually get clothes/dresses from

Lord and taylor

BP (nordstroms teen store)

Cache

American Eagle? Hollister? Macy's? Fitch? White House Black Market?

Good luck!!

Hey everyone! I posted in here a few weeks ago but my weight buddy seemed to disappear...

Age: 15

Height: 5'7

Weight: Im 115 now. I lost about a pound a week over five weeks. I don't want to go any lower weight wise

By the way, I was 116/117 at the beginning of this school semester. Once I transferred, I gain a little since I can barely exercise with my broken back.

Goal: I'm focusing on tone now. This to me is the hard part! I try to do things that don't put a lot of stress on my back.

Anyone with similar goals? We can share excercises and whats not and share weekly updates about our diet. Maintain diet but workout, thats what I need?

I would really love to have a weight buddy. Anyone interested just message me!:)

That guy sounds like an absolute jerk. 100% better off without him. We all do care for the people we use to like so what ever you need to do, just go with it. Follow your instincts and hopefully everything will work out
