Not as of right now, but that's a fantastic feature request and we'll add it to our road map. Welcome back! |

The date in the water logger only affects the water logger. The eat meter and the burn meter in the old dashboard don't allow browsing by date. If you need to review past dates, you can do that on the food log or the analysis page. This has always been like that and did not change with the recent update. So to answer your question: you are comparing the dashboard data from March 7th with the Analysis data from March 6th. |

Just went through your account and it all seems to add up. Can you point out the specific problem you're having? (Feel free to focus on the old dashboard as we're trying to troubleshoot this). |

Quick update on what we've been working on for the dashboard page:
As soon as those additions go live, we'll switch to the analysis page. |

I am glad you're bringing up calorie cycling; that is one of the techniques that can be solved a lot better with the "zeroing out" method. One of the tools we're working on is the ability to specify different calorie targets for individual days of the week. You can't do that elegantly with net calories (as you said, you have to follow your approach above, as opposed to making it a system tool). There are also other interesting ideas, such as adjusting the next day's calorie target based on the past day's outcome. All of these ideas depend on our ability to suggest/set/modify calorie targets, which in the old approach are not a part of the calorie balance equation. |

Agree, the old system is better in "making you feel better" about missing your goals. And I am not disputing the power of visual motivation. So if that outweighs the risks for you of having a lower level of numerical accuracy, go for it! |

Still reviewing the analysis graph and making sure that it's working as it should. Will start that conversation in a bit, and definitely open to change if it makes sense. (But as always, you can just simply use the old approach, which will leave the analysis completely unchanged.) |

I wish I could agree with you, but here's the reality: the calories at rest are dependent on your 1) gender, weight, and "body surface area," plus 2) your specified activity level, and 3) they also change with the burned calories that you explicitly specify (such as when logging 30min of jogging). Having reviewed hundreds of accounts over the last couple of years, I can tell you that 2) is often incorrectly selected, and 3) is insufficiently researched and represents our best guess. In contrast, calories burned during activities only depend on the parameters under 1). Trust me, we're not suggesting the new approach for any other reason other than knowing that it's actually more accurate. That said, happy to let you use whichever approach you prefer. |

I am glad we're having this conversation because it shows me that it's just a question of understanding the concept. So - no, it's not correct that we're forcing you to have a 500 calorie deficit. 500 is just our default value, and you can increase it to 600 by lowering your automatically calculated calorie target by 100 calories (or whatever you're looking for). This can be done in account settings. We're ok with keeping the old system as an option, but please make sure to check out the new one as well every once in a while, because I believe that the above discussion proves that this is all just a question of presentation and over time we'll get it right and easy to understand. |

Let me take you through an example that will prove that the new method will not lead to a different weight loss rate than the old method - assuming your calorie target is set correctly. Sample user: You ate 1800 calories, your daily burn rate (ie: activity level = sedentary, gender = male, weight = 180lbs, height = 6'0") is 2000 calories, and you also logged an additional 300 calories for your early morning run. Your calorie target is set to 1500 calories. Old system: (2000+300) - 1800 = 500 net calories. So is 500 net calories equal to 0 remaining calories? It is. The way we calculated your calorie target when you first set up your account is by assuming that you want to lose one pound per week. This would require you to burn 3500 calories per week, which is the equivalent of a 500 net calories daily deficit. There are many other issues that have been brought up and I will address them all, but we have to start somewhere so let's first focus on the dashboard page. Once we (hopefully) agree that the new dashboard page will be guiding you to lose weight at the same rate as the old page, we can then move on to the next issue (ie: the analysis page). So please, let's just focus on the numbers above for now - thanks! |

I too have the suspicion that we're dealing with a couple of bugs that are affecting the toggle link and the analysis values. We're checking everything as we speak and will update you. |

Hey everyone, Thanks for all the feedback. Let me start by saying that we'll make this work for everyone. It might be by either keeping the two versions forever, or by making the new one work flawlessly, or by switching back to the old one as the site's default. So with that out of the way, I will leave the rest of the conversation between you and our team in Rachel's hands, because she's a lot more knowledgable in nutrition than I am. Rest assured that Rachel will make sure to listen and understand your concerns and the rest of our team will make sure to make any changes that we all agree on. I'd also like to remind everyone that change is always difficult to accept, but sometimes it might lead to better things. Just keep your minds open and try to understand where we're coming from (Rachel has mentioned the inaccuracy issues with the old method and I am sure she'll expand on that more), and we'll do that same for you. |

Showing up under "Everyone" or under "Supporting/Supporters"? We're only filtering from Everyone; it makes sense that if there's someone you care about you get to see them on their good and bad days. Regarding the burn meter - we're in the middle of reworking that product so you should see improvements soon. |

No problem. We're continuing to work on improving the refund process and we'll get it to be 100% automated. In the meantime, if anyone has any problems, don't hesitate to contact me directly. |

Hey everyone, just wanted to announce a quick change that you'll be seeing over the next couple of hours. Short version: we're making it easier now for people who don't like the social aspects of the Calorie Camp to still have access to some of the camp features such as goals, points, and rewards. Long version: Since early January, there have been a number of different ways to experience the camp:
The change we're implementing affects the option #3 above. Going forward, this option will continue to send you to the analysis page, but your activities will still count towards your weekly requirements, goals, points, and rewards. There will be no change to the privacy - none of the above will be visible to anyone other than you. We felt the need to make this change after having received a large number of questions regarding our users' weekly status. In many cases, our users were surprised to see that they were stuck on week 1 even though that had been logging and marking their days complete for several weeks. Apparently, it wasn't clear that in order to pass the weeks, you had the choose the option #4 instead of #3. We hope that this change will help in this instance.

This should be fixed now, but please let me know if it's still happening. The intended behavior is that you always get notifications for comments on your own reports. When you comment on others, you'll be notified when other people comment only if you checked the checkbox while commenting. |

Just to update everyone - we're working on making the newsfeed more selective. Right now, you're seeing pretty much everyone's reports, as long as they met some bare minimum criteria. Our goal is to move towards views that will provide more options and will better suit everyone's needs. Unfortunately, it's turning out to be a sizable engineering challenge so it might take us a bit before we can roll it out. |
