| I wish you the very best of luck!! I think Friday sounds like a good bet for the test. Here's hoping for a plus mark! Btw, I personally told people right when I found out. I know they say to wait until the 12th week, but whatever will be will be. I was far too excited to wait that long for both my pregnancies and I now have 2 very healthy children. I truly hope this Friday brings good news for you! | |||

| Well, my little girl is here and doing very well! She is 3 1/2 weeks early. She was born on Wednesday, June 13th at 8:19 am. She was 7lbs 4ozs at birth and 19.5 inches. She was delivered via emergency c-section. I went into early labor and she was breech. We tried to turn her naturally but her head wasn't able to move down. She and I are both doing very well and can't wait to go home tomorrow! | |||

I have had the opposite scenario with this pregnancy. I am 28 weeks and I've only gained 3 pounds. With my son, I was hungry constantly and had quite a bit of weight gain, but with this one, I'm not gaining much at all. I've had an aversion to meat, so I've been trying to supplement proteins with beans, nuts, and cheese. I know I'm eating healthier, but I can't help think that I should be gaining more than that, especially by now. My midwife said the baby is growing well, so I'm not too worried about it, but I can't help but have that nagging in the back of my mind asking what's wrong.
In other news, I'm starting to get pretty itchy despite all the lotion I'm using. I had forgotten about that with my previous pregnancy :p Ah well, the joys of pregnancy! Hope everyone is well and I wish a happy spring to everyone in the northern hemisphere (and a happy fall to our southern hemisphere neighbors). |

| Hello all! I'm nearly into my 3rd trimester and boy am I feeling it! Sonia1980, my little bumblebee definitely has a kicking pattern, too. Unless I eat or drink something particularly cold, I can usually determine the baby's kick patterns. My son kicked whenever. It's funny how different this pregnancy is. Kellabee, I'm also itching pretty bad. I've been putting vaseline lotion with aloe on after I shower and right before bed. It helps a little. As for gender we are still on team yellow (or green, or orange, or whatever). There was a brief moment during my last ultrasound when I was tempted to find out our baby's sex, but I decided to wait. It's driving me nuts though lol! Congrats to all who found out! Our focus now is serious rearranging. My son is going to be changing rooms in a couple weeks. That will give him three months to get used to the change (though he's really good about change). The new baby will get his current room (which is attached to the master bedroom). His current room is decorated in a baby dinosaur theme which the new baby will inherit (it's super cute and works for with boys or girls). His new room is going to have a Star Wars theme. Luckily my husband and I are both artists, so we can decorate for pretty cheap. Best of luck to everyone with planning and growing! I hope everyone is well and happy! | |||
| Vegetarian | Your reason for becoming vegetarian/vegan? | Mar 06 2012 20:33 (UTC) |

| I'm 23 weeks pregnant and it seems my baby does not like meat at all. I've never been a vegetarian, though I'm not a meat lover either (especially red meat). In the beginning of my pregnancy I just thought it was morning sickness, but now that I'm almost through my second trimester it's pretty obvious this is a food aversion. I've been substituting meat for beans, nuts, cheese, and tofu. My husband and our 1year old son both eat meat, but I have found we don't have to make huge changes or go through a big hassle to prepare my vegetarian meals when making their meals, which is pretty awesome. I'm seriously considering maintaining a vegetarian lifestyle after my daughter is born. Besides, if this is any indication, she probably won't want meat when she gets bigger. | |||
| Pregnancy & Parenting | BE HONEST - does your toddler/older baby sleep through the night? | Feb 29 2012 00:45 (UTC) |

| My son began sleeping for about 6-8 hrs pretty early on. He went up to a good 10 hrs when he started eating solid food (which was AWESOME). He's just over a year old and, lately, he's been consistently waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning screaming. We made the mistake of bringing him to our bed when neither of us felt capable of dealing with it one night and now he refuses to sleep again unless he's in our bed. He's currently growing molars, so it's been rough for all of us, but we just don't know how to fix this. We've tried nearly everything with unresponsive results. We need to figure it out soon as we're expecting another baby in July. At least we know what NOT to do with baby #2. Good luck to you. I hope we all get some sleep! | |||

| Hi all! Thank you for the replies on my fish question. I made salmon with mango salsa and lemon pepper the other night and my sweet husband made tilapia tonight. Turns out baby does not like tilapia, which stinks, because I normally love it. Lol. I, too, miss sushi. My normal order is salmon, tuna, and octopus sashimi. Tho I've enjoyed avocado rolls and California rolls, both which my little boy can enjoy, too. Anyhow, had an appointment with my midwife yesterday and got to see our new little wiggler during a sonogram. He/she is getting so big! In all honesty, this pregnancy (unlike with my son) was not planned and took us completely by surprise. That being said, although I'm over 19wks, I still find myself thinking "holy cow, I'm pregnant!" Of course I said the same thing when I was pregnant with Daniel, but this is being said/thought in a different way. With joy, happiness, and love, of course, but also with nervousness and shock. I'm nervous about juggling a new born and a 1 1/2 year old (along with a dog, three cats, a sick mother-in-law, regular house work, yadda yadda yadda...). I'm trying to make healthy choices with food. I figure if I'm healthy then I may find the juggling at least a little more manageable. ...I hope :) Well, that's my life story lol. I hope everyone is doing well and feeling good! Best of luck to everyone!! | |||

| Hello all! My husband and I spent the day in Chinatown celebrating Chinese new year and (I'm ashamed to admit) eating yummy dumplings and other delicious snacks that were pretty high on the calorie count. On our way back to the subway station we saw fish vendors selling seafood at pretty decent prices and were half tempted to pick up some fish to have for dinner. Ultimately, we decided not to. I couldn't remember which fish was ok to eat during pregnancy. I'm glad I waited until I was able to look it up. My question, however, is are any other moms out there fish eaters, and what do you usually get? Hope everyone is well. :) | |||

| Hello fellow moms and moms-to-be! Congrats to you all! I am tickled to say I, too, am expecting. This will be my second child. My little boy just turned 1 a few weeks ago on Jan 9th. My new baby is expected to arrive on the 4th of July! I'm hoping for a girl, but as with my first child, I don't plan on finding out the sex. I want a girl so I can experience raising both, but my son has been the love of my life and there will be NO disappointment if I am blessed with another little man :) Anyhow, I am new to this app (and I'm embarrassed to say) new to calorie counting. I'm not super unhealthy, but I have been craving very very naughty foods with this pregnancy and I want to make sure I don't end up with an inappropriate amount of weight gain. I plan on checking into this forum, not only to hear everyone's stories, but hopefully to find some inspiration and strength for myself. I wish you all the best as you take this incredible and indescribable journey. :) | |||
