What do you mean by extreme?

I run track, I'm seventeen, and I want a scholarship... I'm using this app to lose weight while gaining muscle and developing my cardio. I can hopefully get a really good scholarship at the end of this school year.

My user id is abfritz... You guys can just call me Amber. I have three "fur babies" two dogs and a horse, my little brother is the only kiddo I'm constantly monitoring and he's on here now. Favorite snack is currently popcorn, favorite beverage is Mio or orange juice. I've actually been on here five weeks, my biggest obstacle is that I've broke even on a 1200 calorie diet.

Thanks... I wouldn't have thought of the taking it with a fat idea but that makes sense from what I've learned in health classes. I didn't start out caring if I ate healthy, just wanted to lose some weight and gain some muscle, however I changed my mind... I think I'll gain muscle better if I eat better. Lol... Thanks to both of you :)

Like I said, I'm doing okay but is there anyone who tends to get all green on the analysis? Is there a good way to do that?

Running on sand is a challenge... It is a different kind of running also though so I understand what people are mentioning, I run track and have heard it is a "no-no". Another idea if you're trying to challenge yourself more and people can comment back on their opinions of it, just have a friend who is doing it to get more power, she's cheers. Running with a tire or some other weight behind you. Don't know if that would help you, it's something I'm considering doing around time for season next year, though... I personally like to run on sand, I have weak ankles and I think if I could go to the beach all summer and run then get back to my normal training, it would strengthen them enough that I won't have to fight them like I do now. lol

Maybe you should ask your counselor if people act drastically to anger on a regular basis, just use him as an example. They may be able to tell you how to handle the situation, they will help you, and I'm saying this from personal experience... My friend has had issues with her family(eating disorders as a result) but mine is the family who had child services called, by the school, on them. No one can help if they don't know and as much as I wish a friend could/would help you, sometimes it isn't that easy, although it's a great idea to talk to someone you trust. If only to help yourself cope. Counselors are there to counsel and they know how to handle situations like these in a safe manner for you. Don't be afraid of what will happen, if you need to, talk to the counselor before you go on a school trip. Directly before and if anything else were to happen it would be taken care of why you were gone. I realize you may not do that and I realize that you're confused but if you don't want to do any of that... Get a hold of me however that is possible on this site. I'm here to listen and only advise if you'd prefer that... =) Best of luck. Assistance if you need it.

Okay well she's gaining cause she's eating the same as them but not exercising as hard... So maybe it's just too many calories if she's not going to work as much. They drink protein shakes though that are packed with things so they work out to hard to burn it off. Not sure if she's doing the same type of thing or not...

bucciamaria, good point but if you're already following a diet and workout plan as the norm... I don't see why a challenge to stick to it is a bad thing.

I don't know anything about it but my boyfriend drinks protein shakes when he works out wanting to gain muscle... He's been doing it the last couple weeks and has gained about a half inch of muscle everywhere. Lucky me! Lol. =)

His family does a lot of it and they STRONGLY stress that to go on a high protein diet you need to work out hard, push yourself to the limit... Otherwise you'll gain and a girl who works out with his sister is gaining on the same diet as them. She just doesn't work as hard at it.

It does seem to work as long as you're ready to work out so the protein has the proper affect... =) All I really know about it but hopefully it's helpful.

Alright so I don't know the difference in apple and pear shaped? I kind of feel dumb not to... I've heard hourglass before, that's basically me.

I am 5' 7 or near there, maybe 5' 8 but whichever it is I'm not growing anymore... I tend to vary from 140 to 146 regularly. I was 146 the other day and I wear a size 10 jean, medium-large shirt. (the jeans are a little loose at this weight, the shirt depends on the way the sizes are)

I run track and am a teen... So my goals are a little different, I guess.

1) Get down to 125, again, OR turn all the extra to muscle. 2) I run the half mile in track because I have bad ankles. I want to strengthen them and run a marathon. 3) Have an amazing bikini body and maintain that through college, get thinner for senior pictures at the end of summer/throughout the school year.
