i would like to join, currently weigh 147lbs would be great to be anywhere near 137 by the end of the month......are we going to weigh in?? |

Hi there, ive just come down from 152 to 144, im 30/f & 5'3". Ive been excersing a little but eating around 1300-1400 a day, i tried for a long time to lose some weight and thought that "diet" meant not eating much and working out like crazy....ive now realised that i wasnt eating enough to keep my body going and thats why the weight was staying put, im now losing about 1-1.5lbs a week and im feeling pretty motivated. ive got another 17lbs to go but i feel that i can achieve it with the way that im eating at the moment. I agree with laphipps that is 80% diet - 20%work out. |

thanks, i cant wait to see some solid results i know i will feel much better about myself when i shift the weight. Watch this space.....I'll be back shouting from the rooftops!! |

Woke this morning and weighed, ive got to tell you im not disapointed, i know its early days but ive lost a few ounces??!!! at the moment i weigh less now than i have done in a few years, this has helped me try and get over the eat more weigh less anxiety cause now after 1 day it seems to be working.......baby steps i know but if it makes you happy then why not shout about it. |

I hope to get down to 121, it seems a long way off though, i started about 6 weeks ago, not really counting calories but eating less, excersising more etc, its taken that long to get from 152 to 147, going on hols 20th july then a family wedding 1st August and i really want to look nice for both, plus more confident. |

Do you feel bad about eating on a diet? i feel shameful today, im really full more that what i normally feel. I guess it just takes time to adjust your mind to that way of thinking. I walk between 1.5 to 3 miles a day and also 20 mins on treadmill, im building my self up after a bad chest infection which has lead to adult asthma so ive gotta take my time. Fingers x i will start to see some decent results, but i would be happy losing 1lb a week if it was consistant. Thanks for your input. |

Weighed again this morning and finally gone from 148 to 147!!! horay! I know it doesnt seem to be much of a loss but I seem to have been 148 or above for ages, no matter what ive tried so im happy, well happier than I was anyway. I am going to measure all my vitals and keep track of any loss that way, at least ive got back a bit of motivation for the moment. |

I got a Wii fit and they are fab!! I would highly recommend buying one, the games on there are easy but provide you with a good work out, the hula hoop is the best, it really gets your heart rate going, my best is 310 hula's in 70 seconds, i would like to see what the higest score in the hula is. I got mine after a few days of searching but I live in Wales so it may be more difficult for you to get one in the states, I paid £69.99. Hope you manage to get one, once you do prepare yourself for a good laugh!! |

I will deffinately go and get it checked out, im always tired, feeling low, have dry skin etc so maybe there is a cause for it, I thought i would have lost something as I have cut out all the crap from my diet, no choccies, crisps, chips, ive kept to really healthy salads, chicken, pork and fish, so i cant understand it. I keep telling myself every morning not to step on the scales but I just think i'll have a little look to see if ive lost anything...dissapointment!! But around my PMS time when I normally put on a couple of pounds, I sayed the same more or less...weird or what? |

My thyroid has not been checked, how do they do it? what symptoms do you get? Although im excersing I still feel really tired, is that normal? What can you do about hypothyridism? |

Thanks for your input, its so frustrating as I think that im doing ok until i step on the scales, I dont think my goal is unreasonable and im determined to get there but its hard when it doesn't seem to shift. I used to be really small, but over the last few years it has crept on slowly I just want to get back to being able to fit into my clothes better and look good. |

Thats the best bit, when you have to tighten your belt to the next hole to hold your jeans up. I started walking the kids to school and back every day and it works out to about 3 miles a day that was about 2 weeks ago, I thought I would see a difference even if it was just a little but there is nothing, thats when I decided to get a runner, at least when I get tired I dont have to run home, I can just get off. When I first started seeing my partner I weighed about 120lbs and was really confident about my body but it seems to have crept on slowly over the last 4 & half years, I know he loves me whatever but ive really started feeling crap with myself, hiding myself and switching the light out etc etc.........so its time to change!! |

Hi there, I am also new to this, congratulations on your engagement. I also lack motivation on times and go through phases where I want to excersise like mad but it never lasts, about 3 months ago I was on the slimfast plan, I lost 7lbs in about 2 weeks but as soon as I started eating proper food again it all came back on. Im 148lbs at the moment and I need to get down to 120 hopefully by August as I have a wedding to go to and want to look nice for all the pictures!!! Im waiting for my treadmill to be delivered so that I can really start pushing myself to shift some pounds, but I know as soon as it starts comming off my motivation will be higher and I will put more effort in.
