this thread has really jumped the shark.

yes, it has. i'm taking my slutty self for a walk, and will bludgeon to death any man who looks at me crosswise.

If you do end up bludgeoning some hapless dude, will you try using a PMS defense?  I'm kinda curious about how that would play out.

Women in UK courts have used it successfully...not very many I might add, but none the less.

I didn't say I agreed with it...I was just pissed off with a comment...one man certainly doesn't speak for the majority of men.

What do you know, turns out it just wouldn't stand up!

Well, then either that kind of "defense" shouldn't hold up for women either, or men should be able to legitimately use it.

That's quite ridiculous.

There would be no such thing as rape then...it was just his hormones....

80% (maybe even higher) of rape isn't about sex, but about control/abuse/display of power where the penis (or whatever object is being used) is the weapon...

Why do so many people think this? >.<

I am well aware of that...there is a lot more to rape than sex, but the act of rape could be argued that it was down to hormones!

Just as women have argued that it was hormones which made her stick the knife in.

I know plenty of men who can control themselves...clearly you have a lot of maturing to do.

Well, totally aside from ccat's comments and, really, only sort of related to the OP, I have to say that I've seen plenty of men control themselves.

Anyone here ever been to nude beach?  Obviously, "modesty" isn't a concern, and there's a much more casual attitude about everything since everyone there is making the same choice, but when hubby and I were at one in Jamaica, I didn't see a single guy with a "control" issue - and it wasn't for a lack of nekkid hotties.

That being said, I have to agree that holding men in contempt just because of a natural biological reaction is rather unfair - I'm more concerned with their  behavior, which they shouldn't be blaming on a bikini or short shorts.

My friend who lives in Sweden used to go to nude beaches all the time as a teenager and he always had to stay in the water to hide his boner. ;P

Which was down to his immaturity...mature men learn ways to control themselves when they are out in public.

I've heard that same arguement about most men have no desire for other women except their loving wives...until said man cheats on them.  Then it's a 4 month whining process followed by marriage counseling followed by years of distrust.

The day you acknowledge that you don't know everything about men (nor them about you), is the day you are being honest.  If you sit back and think your man or male friends are going to come in and tell you that they love girls in schoolgirl uniforms and have pleasured themselves to thoughts of the babysitter...ummm...you're only foollin yourself.

So basically what you are doing is confirming that men are pathetic! and it should be accepted that because of their hormones they can not be held accountable....

Women who have attacked their men have successfully entered pleas or had charges reduced when it has been proven that they have a medical history of severe PMS...that's hormones for your information.

Try as I might I can't think of a single case where a man has successfully used his hormones and his inability to control them to get off on a charge...

What do you know, turns out it just wouldn't stand up!

Just as it is not acceptable behaviour to sit and wank yourself off on the beach it is not acceptable to get a boner at an underage girl.

Okay...will somebody PLEASE inform our uninformed females CCers as to how "erections" work?  PLEASE...for the LOVE OF GOD...if one more uneducated female makes the statement that a man can control what he gets an erection to and what he doesn't...I'm gonna just have to exit this thread...and blow my brains out.

"Morning Wood?  What's that?  Why is my hubby always thinking sexual thoughts in the morning...like EVERY day!"  Derrr.

"That poor boy got an erection during swimming class...why didn't he just not get one?  ANd that man had an erection when that stripper rubbed his crotch...why would he want one at the club?  He should have just decided not to have one."  Derrr.

I know plenty of men who can control themselves...clearly you have a lot of maturing to do.

As anyone that deals with addictions or psychological issues knows all too well...people can't be held accountable for their thoughts.  They can only be accountable for their actions.  If I see a 16 year old at the beach (could be 14, could be 23) and I sexually fantasize about her or become aroused...that is a natural response to a visual stimulus.  A visual stimulus that she (and her parents) have decided to provide to men.  Now, if I take a camera pic or proposition her or assault her...I've made a choice to act inappropriately.  I own that behavior...but I cannot held accountable for my thoughts.  There are many thoughts I wish I didn't have.  Many painful things all of us would like to forget.  But holding me accountable for finding a 16 year old in her underwear attractive is no better than telling an abuse victim that they just "get over it already and stop thinking about it".

That's not right and that's not fair.

I agree with this in part, however as you own your actions you also own your reactions to the physical stimulus...as an adult, and a decent responsible person it is your duty to distract yourself and stop the inappropriate reaction.

Just as it is not acceptable behaviour to sit and wank yourself off on the beach it is not acceptable to get a boner at an underage girl.

  1.  NO you most definitely should NOT lie about this.
  2. Why do you want to be dating a guy who is discussing such things about you with his mate!
  3. Guys have a way of telling if you are a virgin, it's not 100% accurate, but near enough...lets just say non virgins develop a gap.

I have never used my horn...ever, I tried to find it one time when someone nearly T-boned me, and because I have never used it, I couldn't find it...ha ha.

If someone stands on their horn at me (hasn't happened often) I do the opposite of what they want.

So yes I think it's rude and rather annoying.

We have a thing going on over here just now where men from the Pakistani communities are targeting specifically white female teens and only them.

These are the young girls who are showing more of their body than not...these men are grooming the girls and passing them around each other.

They say these girls are the target because the men in the Pakistani community think white girls dress and act like trash, so they treat them as such.

They don't do this to the Pakistani teens, because they don't dress as such.

This is what the Pakistani spokes persons have said is the reason behind it...we don't live in the perfect world, freedom of choice is actually just something we kid ourselves that we have.

Where exactly is 'over here'?

UK.

LEt me say this: I demand basic respect from people no matter their age. I know I am a child but that does not give people the right to be rude. Now if the lady had said her kid has an emergency and she needs to get him home, I would have let it go. But instead she stood in the middle of my lawn with her kid and yelled about how it was not my property wen technically it is. AND when she walked through my lawn the first time I let it go. And adding the fact that I work hard to make my lawn tame and nice, I just could not let it go. So yeah I went to her house for an apology. And later in the day I apologized for calling her a **** and she apologized too. Oh and sorry about the pink hair comment, people can color their hair how they want. Was still a little mad if you couldn't tell.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

You did not buy the house and or pay rent for it, you don't pay the household bills, and when you are old enough your parents can legally kick you out...so technically it is not your lawn, you only have a right to be there for as long as your parents permit.

The fact that a 14 year old can come on here, write the stuff they have been writing about, and no adult seems to be checking it says it all.

I'm late to this thread, and sorry but there is no way I am reading 5 pages of replies.

I don't have kids, but my own personal opinion is that young girls seem to be under ridiculous pressure these days to grow up too fast and be (in their eyes) sexy with it.

It's like it is no longer acceptable for them to be a child, and it's perfectly OK to bombard our youth with body image and sexuality.

And with this comes huge numbers of teen pregnancies, and Internet grooming. We seem to have lost sight of what being a child is.

What gets me with this story is why it has only ever happened to one person (baby), with the number of people who have visited Uluru over the years you would have expected to have heard about more than one incident involving dingos.

The linked article mentions at least three incidents involving dingos and children...

I thought it said "thought to be part dingos" and they were is different States.

I take from that, that they really don't know what breeding the dogs had.

Is double jeopardy something that is unique to the US? Would the numerous trials surrounding this be considered double jeopardy? I can see appeals but it sounds like she was found not guilty, then guilty then not guilty.

No many other countries have it...

On average there is a 2" inch difference between US & UK...but remember the sizes here vary a lot.
