First let me say, congratulations on a successful journey because you and I both know that you'll get there!!!!

Secondly.......awe inspiring. We may not be exactly the same but it is amazing how similar our experience! Although I get some "support" from the people around me, your post is the most understanding I have had in a long time!

Finally, if you are not already, you should look into becoming a writer! You truly captivated me with your words!

You make me want to eat carrots instead of cake!! Thank you for that!

Hi,

I am obviously not an expert at this whole weight loss thing, but my suggestion would be to get your heart rate up. If you like walking, try doing it a little faster and maybe with some resistance, like hand or ankle weights.

Good luck to ya!

One day, I will...

  • Develop a healthy lifestyle to pass on to my children
  • Reach my goal weight and maintain it
  • get my belly button pierced
  • Develop OCD for cleaning
  • learn to love excercising & vegetables
  • learn to hate chocolate & frosting
  • get out of debt
  • vacation in Hawaii
  • wear my skinny jeans.......comfortably!
  • Let go of the past-even if it still affects every decision I make
  • forgive those worthy of my forgiveness-even if they are family
  • stop forgiving those that keep hurting me-repeatedly-even if they are family
  • surround myself with loving, supportive and understanding individuals and let them know that I appreciate them!

I promise myself I will never again...

  • Allow others to dictate my self-worth, self-confidence or even my mood
  • Allow my children's confidence to be broken due to a lack of my own!!
  • Be forced into uncomfortable situations
  • feel powerless
  • hold on to people that are harmful to me
  • be controlled by cupcakes
  • reward myself with food!!!!!
  • punish myself with food!!!!!

I am somewhat embarrassed to admit...

  • I have all the time in the world to exercise but don't.
  • I don't have the power/drive/determination to change what I have become!
  • My childhood has a lot of power over me as an adult!!

Thanks guys!! I have to admit, his comments have sparked a new desire to lose weight I just wonder if I am doing it for the right reason and am I destined to gain it back because of that.  I guess I should lose it first before I worry about gaining it back.

Your right divorce isn't an option, I have 4 kids with this man but if it were just me, I probably would have been gone a long time ago.  Of course I probably wouldn't have gained as much weight either.

double edged sword ya know.

walking is a good way to start.  Maybe with a sibling, friend or even your parents.  Don't go alone and Don't go at night.  Yes you are talking to the most paranoid person on the planet.

But seriously, start off slow then increase the distance then increase the speed.  Before you know it you could be jogging 2 miles.

Also, alot of high school have a gym or weight room, that's agood idea too.

Investigate, find out all of your options then alternate, keep it interest and avoid getting bored.

good luck, I wish you the best.

First laugh to yourself about her ignorance  then sit back and quietly plot your revenge.

When you've reached your goal weight and are pleased with yourself, go out and buy a very sexy outifit and post a pic of yourself on your scrapbooking site and when she asks you how you did it, just tell her how much water you drank.  HAHAHA

People can be evil, don't let them get you down.  Be happy with the strides that you've made and keep up the good work.

Some people just try to be hurtful.  As far as I am concerned he wasn't very original.  If your going to be an a** atleast do it well.  Everyone knows that weight is a sensitive issue for a lot of people, he doesn't even have an imagination.

Try this response to his next over used comment--"I may be fat, but your ugly and I can DIET!"  Another overused comment but anything too original he may not understand.

Just be confident in the changes you are making because obviously you are doing GREAT!  I just started last week, and I would be happy to lose half as much as you have in 3 months.

Keep up the good work!!

You need to remember that family pictures in the future won't be nearly as special if you are no longer in them.  Harsh I know but your family loves you NO MATTER WHAT!  If you don't take care of yourself, nobody will.

I feel badly for you..I truly hope that this is the last time.  Throw out the laxatives so they aren't at your fingertips.  This is a minor set back, but I believe that you are strong and smart enough to overcome it before it does major damage.

I hope that everything works out for you and I know that you'll look fabulous in your pictures.  Remember, your family wants you to be healthy and happy and the rest will fall into place.

I'll be thinking of you!!

First of all, I hope that you have discussed this with your Dr. since you are only 15.

That being said some people recommend smaller more frequent meals.  3 small meals with healthy snacks in between so you don't feel hungry.

Bagels...bread has a lot of carbs and the carbs that aren't burned are stored as fat.  Cereal with milk may be a better option for you especially with the calcium a growing 15 year old needs.  Also, when inputting your foods try to keep an eye on the grade that they are given, I find that helps me to have a well balanced diet, not just low cal.  Bagels are graded at a C while cereal with milk is an A.

The main thing to remember is that weight loss is a gradual process, I don't know how long that you have been at it but I know getting started is the hardest part...so I am proud of you.

Keep up the good work!!!!
