Oldguy- That's why I wondering. Because i'm like you. I drip with sweat, and I'm not just doing crunches on the ball, I do dumbell work, pike ups, squats, pushups, all sorts of stuff. Maybe what I'm wondering more is: Is sweatyness a good evaluation of calorie burn. |

Hi everyone! Can I join? The name of this thread caught my eye because just the other day I was rolling around on my living floor pouting to my boyfriend, "Lie to me, tell me we're going somewhere beachy. I don't even care if we are. Say it, Tell me 'We're going to go somewhere beachy this spring' I just need a reason to stick to it! Since I started dating my dear boy. I've gained 20lbs. Who know's how much muscle i lost? I've probably really gained thirty pounds. So I went from working out 6 days a week. To nil, and now I have a closet full of size 6 clothes and I'm pretty much in a size twelve now. Eek. I know how does 20lbs translate to 3 full size changes? That's why I think I've lost so much muscle and replace it with oodles of fat. I gotta get back on it ladies! I have a really small frame so a size twelve might look hot on a lot of ladies but on me, it's just rolls and rolls of fat. Seriously. I'm so gross. My stomach sits on my thighs as I sit here typing to you. Not exactly bikini material. But here I am So I think I'm about 158lbs right now. Trying for 140lbs. That's what I weighed in my size 6 clothes, including a super cute black halter bikini. I've been fat all my life. Lots of food issues growing up. Food is my love, my drug! My kitchen is pimped out! Cuisinart food processor, Kitchen Aid mixer, le crusset dutch oven. I love to cook, eat and feed people. The most I ever weighed was 220lbs. On a 5'5" frame..not hot stuff sisters. I lost weight initially doing curves and got down to 170s, after I had my kids I got down to my idea weight of 140lbs...lots of muscle in there. And now...well, no excuses but here they come. My boyfriend is a super sweet, perfect and SO LAZY. He has a perfectly muscled, slender body and does NOTHING to get it. He watches TV and eats my cooking and carbs and soda and...Yes, I made him do it. Can fit into my size 6 jeans. Ugh. Looking forward to hanging with you lovely ladies. Onward! March! |

Old fashioned oats really stick to my ribs in the morning. Especially when I put 1T of natural Peanut butter. YUm...and a banana, 1/2T honey. is just fabulous. I love bulking out stirfries, noodle dishes withe peanut sauce or soups with cabbage. Roasted cauliflower is great. Jiffy pop makes this 94%FF kettle corn that is really low in calories and very tasty. I chug lots of water with it and by the time I'm done I feel like a swollen tick. Keeps me from binging on less healthy things. |

safina... Tell you what. I said "no" to food for 10 days. I can say "no" to anything now. I still have to recognize the signs of a binge coming on...get a little panicky, anxious, "have to have it" sort of feeling. And then I just say, calm down and can remove myself from the situation. So yes. It definitely got me off of salt/sugar cravings and yes. I feel like I am in control of my emotional eating. I still get emotional though. Typical food addict. |

I did it for 10 days. I did it to kind of reset my gauges and get control over my binging, cravings, etc. I felt really good almost the whole time. Day 8 and 9 were grueling just because I got so bored with the same flavor, over and over again. Yes, I agree with previous posters. I thought the lemonade tasted great. I did not have these fantastical eliminations like you read on some websites. It is a strange thing that you still poop some solids, minimal for me, when you aren't eating a thing. The most amazing change for me? My skin was absolutely glowing, smooth and soft. I don't know if it was because I was very hydrated or because I had eliminated something inflammatory. Probably a combo. I also discovered, when reintroducing new foods after the cleanse, that like many people. My body does not like dairy products. I feel very sluggish after eating meat. I eat meat and dairy only once a week or so now. I crave salads for the first time. I have also kicked my occasional smoking habit. I'm not promoting it. I was just looking for some sort of religious experience or something. Next time I might try a different kind of "cleanse"...maybe go raw vegan for a period of time. IF you do this. Buy extra toilet bowl cleaner. |

1. Not having to shop in a plus-size store. 2. Not having tourniqet creases from your socks on you calves/ankles 3. Not having fat on the sides of your breasts, under your armpits, you know what I'm talking about 4.Being able to talk to "athletic" types about running/training routines and being able to relate. 5. Positive first impressions 6. Being able to fit on the slides/swings/playground equipment with your kids 7. So much more comfortable with public transportation seating. Airplanes, buses, train 8. Wearing a bikini for the first time in my whole life! 9. People saying, "I bet with your body you can wear anything." "I can't believe you used to way 200+ pounds. You look like someone who has been skinny all your life." 10. Inner-peace. Tranquility. Empowerment. Knowing that you have the ability to make positive changes in your life. |

Yeah, I don't know why we feel that way. I totally understand. I never take 48 hours off though. If I'm only working out 5 days a week, I break up my off days. Sometimes on my off days I'll still take a brisk walk after dinner. That way I don't feel roly poly. |

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26839368/ That's the link to the 11 metabolism myths segment on the today's TODAY SHOW. Really interesting. Talks about..."is celery a negative calorie food? Do chili peppers raise your metabolism? Does drinking ice cold drinks burn more calories?" Fun fact stuff. |

Up again *sigh* 143.3lbs. Oh well. Lynn, you do such a great job with this forum. Thank you for all your hard work. Especially with all the things going on with your uncle. Don't forget to ask for help and allow someone to take care of YOU. If you're like me, having a good workout clears my head and relieves stress and it I know you are getting out there. I saw a good segment on weightloss diet myths on the Today show this morning. I will post the link! Congrats to all you Monday losers! Big Loser is on tonight. I'm excited. |

My Monday weigh in...yeah, I know it is Tuesday, is 142.5. I'm down a whole pound! This week's focus for me. No eating under the gun. I am so busy and I find myself scarfing food down. I'm anxious while I'm eating it. Not enjoying it and I don't think my brain realizes that something is in my stomach...so, I start looking around for more food. Not so good. Weekends are so hard! I had a bridal shower and football party and well, lets just say I enjoyed myself. Oh, well, I worked out 6 days last week so that must have offset things since I'm down a pound. Sounds like everyone is doing great, remember, even 1 ounce less, is still LESS! Hang in there. Great tips Lynn! |

I really like that idea of weighing in Monday and Friday. Weekends are definitely a challenge for me.
Kinda weird... If I'm losing weight, it motivates me to stay on track. But if I'm gaining, I feel discouraged and don't stick to "the plan". Strange eh? |
