2012 was pretty much a wash for me....I lost 50 in 2011, and had got down to 220 this past summer, but today I'm at 232. Will get under 200 this year, for the first time since middle school!

Try simmering boneless skinless chicken breasts or tenders in tomato sauce.  Add a lil garlic and onion and serve it with a veggie.... delicious!!

Howdy Ladies!  I am here from Akela's invitation.  I kinda took the summer off from logging...and I'm BACK! 

My story ~ May '11 got up to 281 (my all time high was '07 @ 291), lost 63 pounds from May '11 to May '12.  Logged my food on here just about every day for year... decided to see if I could 'maintain' my sixty pound loss without logging, and I did pretty well.  Spent the summer doing fun classes like Zumba & Step, and I work out with my trainer once a week too lifting pretty heavy.  Well school starts tomorrow (my daughter is 9 and starting 4th grade), and I am back logging daily and am working toward 200.  I gained a little over my summer of maintenance, I'm at 227 today, up from my low of 217 in May.  Hoping at least 5 of that is just from the traveling, eating out, long weekend. 

I have a BIG trip coming up in mid November.  Taking my daughter on a 12 day cruise out of Miami, and we will spend 3 days in Miami after the cruise.  Her dad lives there, and we haven't seen him in EIGHT years!!  If he shows up, we will see him, and it will be really crazy.  I am already much smaller than I was when we were together, but my goal for this trip is to be down really close to 210.  I will need LOTS of support, because my summer of maintenance was really fun and kinda 'easy'  LOL  Cracking down and being back on track, and losing will be challenging.  I plan to weigh in on Fridays.

Hiya gals!  Sorry I've been MIA for a while.  I had my one year anniversary and decided to take a little break from logging my food (since I have logged every day {except holidays} for the past year). 

I have maintained my sixty pound loss for the past 3 months, and I have decided it's time to get the next 20 pounds off.  It's really hard to get motivated though because surprisingly maintaining has not been difficult for me at all.  I have been eating around 2200 cals a day and working out about 3x a week.  This week I am beginning to cut back down to around 1700 and I will get 4x a week workouts at a minimum.  I have a goal to get down to 210 by Labor Day. 

Hope you all are doing well and feeling well and treating yourselves well.

Happy Monday!  It's JUNE  Laughing

Last week was my one year anniversary of the NEW & improved Jackie.... so I took 10 days off from logging... Today I'm back at it.  Still at 217.  Which I am actually really happy with.  I've lost 64 pounds in a year.  I have been working out like crazy and my food hasn't been bad....just more like maintenance instead of losing levels. 

Working toward my next goal of getting to 199.  I had hoped to be there by Labor Day, but not sure that is feasible at this point.  Working on 4-5 pounds a month...that's what I have averaged for the past year. 

Hope you all are doing well.  My daughter only has 8 days of school left, then a busy summer mostly away from home at sleep away camps and time with my parents.  We have a week vacation around July 4th, my 20 year High School reunion in Aug, and my plan is to work out like crazy most of the summer. 

Feels pretty good to be sitting here a year into success.  I know now, this is my life and I can live well exactly like this.

Hey All... Happy Monday Laughing

I've been struggling a bit... still hovering around 220... for almost 2 months!! Which kinda stinks, but I have been working out like crazy so I am sure I am making some progress, even if it doesn't translate into actual pounds lost. 

This weeks makes the 1 year point at which I decided I was sick and tired of putting off my own health.  Which most of you guys know I got to that point after learning from my nieces death, that life is freakin short and precious. 

So I just wanted to check in.  I am going to keep at this, and my next real goal is to get under 200... I am planning that to happen by Halloween!! 

Let's make it a great week!

I'm about half way too... Started almost a year ago at 281... currently hovering around 216.   My goal is to get down to 180 or so...  then re-assess. 

I'm 38, 5'7", solo mom of one awesome 3rd grader, work an office gig so sit most the day... current work out's consist of 30min with my trainer on Wed, 2x Bodypump class, 1x PiYo (pilates/yoga fusion class), and another day of cardio if it fits. 

For food I try to stick around 1700 calories... except the days I lift I get closer to 2000. 

My loss has been pretty consistant, averaging 4-6 pounds a month for 10 months... slowing this past 6 weeks to a crawl!!!  LOL  So annoying.

After being stuck mostly the whole month at 220, I weighed this morning at 216!!!  YEAH... our bodies are so crazy!!   I can SMELL the ONE hundreds!!  LOL

Hey Everyone... Hope the week is going good. 

Akela~ Sorry you're sick again... kick that cold in the butt!!  And I know you can get this 30 off over the next several months.  Whatever I can do to support, I will!  When you are faced with those tough choices... just think of ATL & Kathryn and JUST SAY NO!!  LOL 

Kathryn~ I think 20 is do-able!  My Labor Day goal is 200... and that's 20 from now.  I have been averaging 4-6 pounds a month... of course I am much heavier than you, but I think you can get really close if not succeed! 

Juba~ Welcome!  Not sure how tall you are, but I'm 5'7" and 38, and 220 (down from 281 last May).... I'm wearing 16-18 and trying to get down to 12's too!  We can do this.  What kind of work outs do you do?  I love lifting!!  and Yoga too  :)

Ksan~ Sorry your sick and tired... I have completely been there, OFTEN!  You will get through it and feel better on the other end for sticking with what you know is the right stuff.  Can you put something on the calender down the road that will give you something to look forward to?  Sometimes that helps me see some light at the end of the tunnel. 

As for me, I'm having a great week.  Can't believe all the workouts I've been getting in with supporting my new workout buddy.  Last night my trainer and I lifted HEAVY and I loved it.  He freakin pushes me so hard... it's the BEST feeling in the world to complete one of his crazy workouts!  Today I'm trying a class during my 'lunchhour' with a friend in my office... it's called Core Cross Training.  Not sure what to expect, but I brought I towel so I can shower after because I'll have to come back to my office  LOL  And tonight I'm doing PiYo with my other buddy.  She really likes that class, and so do I, but I'm sure tomorrow I'll be a robot zombie!!!  I'll let ya all know  LOL  Hoping to be back under 220 for Monday end of the month weigh in... cross your fingers for me!! 

It's almost the weekend... Be good to yourselves!!!

Hi all... Hope the weekend was well.  Out here in Portland Oregon, we had our very first warm and sunny weekend of the year!!  It was awesome. 

Sat morning I tried TurboKick with my newly inspired workout buddy... it was TOUGH but I felt like I did a pretty good job.  I was familiar with a lot of the moves because way back in the 90's I had the TaeBo tapes and some of the moves were similar.  My friend struggled, and decided that TurboKick would be a better fit for her after she loses 40 pounds  LOL   We are doing Bodypump tonight at 6... I hope she likes it!! 

I'm stuck at 220... which means that I basically have stayed the same for the whole month.  I still have a week, and I'm hoping that by the 30th, I'll drop a few pounds.  It's TOM so it's possible.  It's also possible that even tho my weight hasn't changed, my body has... especially with all the workouts I'm doing. 

I can't believe it's almost MAY!  Time is freakin flying by for me...

kathryn~ Donating hair is AWESOME!   Good for you.  My daughter was inspired by my niece who died last year... she had donated 2x in her life, and was growing out again with all her friends to donate at graduation.  She died before then, and when she died everyone cut their hair and donated... but I didn't let my daughter because I didn't want her to make an impulsive decision about it.  So a year went by and she kept talking about it, so I finally made a date and she did it.  It's really cool because she had VERY long curly hair and never was able to comb it herself, and now she can comb it and part it and is feeling really confident about it... which is great because we all how little girls can struggle with self esteem. 

roman~ We didn't end up doing Bodypump on Sat morning... but we did do an hour cardio and she watched the bodypump class and then the turbokick boxing class.  She said they looked 'fun' and wants to try them out.  And it's really funny because we met last night for yoga and she told me she went to her doc yesterday and guess what?? The doc told her she should be LIFTING WEIGHTS!  That cardio wasn't in her best interests... So what did I say??  I TOLD YOU SO of course  LOL  Such a great friend I am huh?? 

Me~ Still at 221...but getting lots of workouts in.  Weekend didn't turn out exactly as I planned... drank ALOT friday night, but made it to the gym Sat morning.  Yoga last night, bowling date tonight, trainer tomorrow... Good week indeed.

Happy Friday!!  Hope everyone has a great weekend  Laughing

I did have a better week, but still at 221.  Wanted to get back where I was last week before the holiday... owell.  It's only 6 weeks from my ONE YEAR anniversary of the 'new me'.  I had a goal of 210, which right now seems like a stretch to get off 11lbs in six weeks... but I think I can get pretty close if I buckle my butt down and stay the heck away from gelato and chocolate eggs!!!  LOL  

No workout last night because my daughter who is 9 got her hair cut for the first time in her whole life!!  She donated 12 inches to Locks of Love.  She looks so sassy and grow up with her new do.  She's growing up... (mixed mamma feelings about that!).

Friday's usually my rest day, but I'm doing cardio tonight right after work, and my new workout buddy is meeting me Sat morning at the gym to weigh in and try the Bodypump class that I love.  It will probably kill her  LOL  I'm going to make her do the lightest weights they have!!  Then I'm planning on Sun yoga.

Ok it's Thurs and I'm at 221.1 today, so I'm getting closer!

Akela~ The ravioli was just store bought, but they are yummy with a smudge of parm.  I have never made pasta... ever!!  But I LOVE squash!   As for gelato... well it and ice cream are my nemeses!!  If I'm gonna binge, 9 times out of 10 it will be on ice cream.  Gelato is really close to ice cream, but less fat and no air.  I bought a pint at Target... salted caramel, YUM.  But it's gone now, so that's good!!!

Akela~ I know exactly how you feel about the low weight scenario.  Right now at 220, I weigh less than I did in 1992 when I graduated from High School.  Just take everyday for what it is... do the best you can and it will all happen, I know because that's exactly what I have been doing for the past 10 months!

Roman~ It's not that she didn't like yoga, she just wasn't very comfortable I think.  It was her very first workout in so many years she can't remember, and she is really out of shape.  I met her back at the gym tonight for some cardio, and she was really struggling on the elliptical, she had to rest every couple mins... I told her that it take babysteps, and she just has to keep at it.  She told me she will do yoga again... but only 1x a week  LOL  AND you are completely right about being open to trying new things as you start moving more and more.  I was so proud of her to trying the yoga, and trying the elliptical... I know it will get easier for her.  Just want to support her to form a new habit!!  

Me~ Two workouts today... and was going to eat 2 servings of the butternut squash ravioli, but I stopped myself and only had 1 serving... that was a freakin miracle!!  BUT let's not talk about the 1.5 serving of gelato I had after my cardio LOL  Whoops!!

Ok it's Wed and I weighed in this morning at 221.9, so I am getting closer to my lower weight last week.  I feel pretty good I will be back down by week end.

My friend came to the gym last night!  AND OMG, she tried a yoga class!!  It was totally not her thing, but I was so very proud that she tried it and made it through the whole hour.  I'm working out with my trainer tonight right after work, and then meeting her at the gym later after dinner... so I'll have two workouts today, which is good considering the ground I am trying to make up. 

Akela~ 30 in four months is completely do-able!!  You can do it Smile

Tuesday morning and I'm at 223.1, so definite improvement... Good eats yesterday and 45mins/3+miles on the elliptical then an hour yoga class late in the evening.  Feeling pretty good.  Hoping to be back under 220 by Friday's weigh in.  Planning to have a perfect week!

Alex~As a girl who has had A LOT of first dates in the past several months... my advice is just be yourself & be honest.  If you all have a spark, that's great... if no spark, you have a lil experience under your belt! 

EGGS~ I eat a whole cup of egg beaters EVERY weekday morning.  It's 120 calories of awesomeness!  I cook it in the microwave at my office with a cut up veggie... usually a bell pepper, but lately because it's SPRING I have been eating asparagus every single day!!  I make little taco's with the cooked eggs, veggie & sriracha with sandwich thins or Dave's Killer Lite bread.
