NAME: Nancy STATE OR COUNTRY: Indiana LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF: I started using CC back in 2007 with an initial weigh in of 277 lbs. I lost about 30 lbs over a year or two then over the last couple of years have been slowly gaining back. I'm on this journey for my health, weight loss is more of a side benefit. I have a family history of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and various cancers. Over the past several years I've read many books on preventing and/or curing disease with proper nutrition and exercise. So I'm now ready to make 2013 the year that I get my health and fitness back. HEIGHT: 5'8 CURRENT WEIGHT: 245 GOAL WEIGHT FOR CHALLENGE: 230 AGE: 44 DAY YOU'D LIKE TO WEIGH IN Wednesday
Jan 2 - 246 Jan 9 - 243.5 (-2.5 lbs) Jan 16 - 241.5 (-2 lbs) Jan 23 - 240.5 (-1 lb) Feb 6 - 242.5 (+2 lbs) Feb 13 - 241 (-1.5 lbs) Feb 20 - 241 (0 lbs) Mar 9 - 243 (+2 lbs) Mar 13 - 245 (+2 lbs) Those 2 weeks of not logging, not exercising and eating crap are finally showing up on the scale. My sodium has been WAY too high over the last 2 weeks which I'm sure is where the weight gain is coming from. That and not drinking as much water as I need. I think I'm slowly getting back on track. I'm still having trouble with making the needed commitment to exercise but will continue to work on making it a daily thing. |

Hopefully we've got that fixed now. I'm not surprised at all by the 2 pound gain as the past 2 weeks have been filled with very poor food choices, excess calories and minimal exercise. I'm hoping this week to get things back under control. I've started back slowly with exercise and am aiming for 2 sessions a day (morning & evening) for 15 minutes at a time. I realize that I will miss some days but I'm hoping to average around 30 minutes a day. |

Exercise has been almost non-existent this week which needs to change. Overall my eating has been pretty much under control even considering some drive thru meals with a time crunch between work/meetings/kids sporting events. Luckily the kids' sports are slowly coming to an end which should mean getting home at more reasonable hours with time for cooking and exercise. So looking forward to nicer weather so I can get outside and go for walks. |

Last month I was averaging around 3600 mg. My average since Sunday has been under 2000. Now to make it through Valentine's Day tomorrow and my birthday next week without overdoing. Jan 2 - 246 Jan 9 - 243.5 (-2.5 lbs) Jan 16 - 241.5 (-2 lbs) Jan 23 - 240.5 (-1 lb) Feb 6 - 242.5 (+2 lb) The past week has been filled with lots of meals out so I'm, not surprised by the numbers on the scale. We don't have as much going on this week so I'll be able to get back on a regular meal schedule and cooking at home so that should help with things this week.

Jan 2 - 246 Jan 9 - 243.5 (-2.5 lbs) Jan 16 - 241.5 (-2 lbs) Jan 23 - 240.5 (-1 lb) After a very unbalanced, unplanned splurge over the weekend I was looking at a gain on Sunday of about 3 lbs (due to sodium overload I'm sure). I was very happy to see a loss for the week this morning. I've been continuing with the daily exercise and this week have been paying attention to making sure I get enough water to drink and trying to stay away from the soft drinks. Although the diet drinks have no calories they seem to leave me craving more sweets and junk food than I do when I drink plain water or unsweetened teas. Congrats everyone on a positive week.

My cumulative mini goals appear to be working. Each week I'm setting small behavioral changes: exercise 15 min 5x a week, log foods, eat 5 serving of vegetables, plan meals in advance, etc. Over time I will maintain those "goals" that are helping make my lifestyle healthier and will remove those that don't seem as effective. So far so good. Wow, last weeks numbers are impressive. Congrats everyone. |
