Yeah, loading on nutsand full fat things helps loads! Perhaps you could also do with the support of Ensure Plus suppliment drinks?

Are you seeing a gp or psych regularly too?

There are loads of threads on this if you search in the forums.

Dust yourself off, say "I'm alright, I'm still alive, I forgive myself" and continue eating as if nothing happened.

If you need to gain anyway, why restrict and prolong this anxious isolated existance?

I also reccommend getting support from a specialist or gp.

You kick ass maya!

I'm going to eat lunch in the food court, not hiding in the store room at work.

Call a friend, I do not wish to remain a hermit!

Eat my meals without pattern, eg all the peas, then corn, then starch etc.

Try perhaps looking at it from a more psychological approach. What do you gain or achieve by staying sick/underweight? Why doesit feel so safe and reassuring?

You have support, love, people being careful around you? Treating you different? Do you feel special or unique? Do you not want to grow up? Are you punishing your parents in some way?

Really look at this, I BELIEVE IT IS A CRUCIAL aspect of recovery.

You desserve health and happiness, not to be torturing yourself in this limbo.

Unfortunatly I am of the oppinion that one never "fully recovers" from an eating disorder. Not to upset anyone! But I feellike you will have it for life, you may be able to control it better and function more, but it won't ever be completely gone.

So to me looking for a recovery blog seems a bit self-defeating really, they will have their daily struggles aswill you. We just do our best day to day, we all have our own individual journeys. We can't predict or mould ourselves based onothers. I say focuson yourself and what you really enjoy, rather than dwelling on and continually reinforcing the ED/recovered ED identity.

You can get Ensure Plus from the Pharmacy, try to get it cheaper on a script from your GP. Or TwoCal HN+. I was given Ensure Plus via naso-gastric tube in hospitals, so I'm guessing it's fairly nutrient and calorie dense.

God Bless you all! You are angels for your beautiful words. Both inspiring and confronting.

I'm writing a list of pros cons related to this ED and it's pretty much cons. Like Driven was saying in another thread you just have to jump and embrace the "free falling" feeling, that comes with facing this head on. Letting go and feeling your emotions. Facing your fears. Stop fighting yourself and simply "be".

Thank you all again xoxo

great thread!

i threw out most of my clothes and  bought alot of second hand clothes in what will be my healthy new body size. That way I'm not growing OUT of anything infact I'm growing INTO myself. If that makes sense, Say "poo" to silly little pants and throwthem away! Bahhumbug! It's not like you'd ever want to wear them again. No I have togain so I don't look rediculous!

I also have some art on my walls by gustav klimt my fav painter, he does beautiful nudes with soft curves, reminding me how beautiful the feminine form is, sensual and nurutring.

Would you freak out if you suddenly got to a coffee house without sweetner? Do you think avoiding sugar could become a fear again if you don't face it  on a regular basis?

No pill causes weightloss, they may cause a lack of appetite or increased metabolism. If your doctor is awear of your eating disorder he/she would not have prescribed this med, it is a very old anti-depressant. If you like ask him to change it voice your concerns. They are there to help.

Most cause weight gain, why not try one of those?

Thak you for that insight Meryl and for taking the time to not only write so much, but to share so much of your journey. You have all given me alot to think about.

I get frustrated when everyone says I can choose to get well. It feels like I can't. I keep failing. Am I acctually choosing to stay sick?

PPersonally I think it differs for everyone. I have always been very muscular and slim (mesomorph) and when I gain the weight I look pretty much the same only alot brighter and healthier. I have some depth and substance to me. Strength. Not floppy flabby fat- but life! Nourishment!

Don't be scared, you won't know what will happen to your body until you try.
