I woke up so late today. It was weird because I had a whole plan to go to the gym/do homework and I got all thrown off... plus my food was all at the wrong time. Ah well.

My dog also had surgery today on his front paw so my whole family has been in a total stress, ah, anyways!

peanutbuttercup: Ah nice, nice. My Dad's job was transferred from London to New York six years ago, that's why we're here. I love both cities so much though! What is a yum-yum bar by the way? My morning also sounds very much like yours! Feel better, lovely!

h_m_h: Mmmmm, white chocolate and raspberry oatmeal bar sounds just like my kind of thing!

plaidcupcake: Woo! Good job not measuring! I'm weening myself of measuring so all of my stuff is much more estimated, it feels so much better.

breakfast: three dried dates and 1pkt of brown sugar and maple oatmeal made with MILK

lunch: 2c egg drop soup with 1/2pk those little chinese crackers, 1/2c cooked brown rice, 1pc sesame chicken and a few pcs of sesame broccoli

snack: strawberry cheesecake yogurt with 1/2c crunchy nut clusters

snack: 1tbsp HOMEMADE hummus (so much better than the brand stuff) with a few carrots and a sesame seed cracker

dinner: UPDATE: 1.5c homemade green curry [chicken, zucchini, green beans, green curry sauce made with low fat coconut milk] and 3/4c brown rice

snack: banana, milk chocolate disk, and dark chocolate piece.

total: approx. 1700-1800 ... I sat on my ass literally all day though

First post! YAY!

I had such a fun New Year's, I drank a lot and even snacked on some pretzels throughout the night! I felt proud of myself. I was also the most social I've been in about a year. It was great!

peanutbuttercup: I'm not actually from New York, I'm from London, but I do for sure love New York. Have you ever visited? I love Broadway too, I'm a closet musical theater geek. :)

NOW ONTO THE FOOD:

snack @ about 3 AM after getting home haha: Cadbury strawberry & chocolate mini roll

brunch: 1 plain TJ's mini bagel, 2tbsp TJ's whipped cream cheese, ~3 scrambled eggs with 1/2tbsp Heinz ketchup

snack: 1 Trader Joe's thin mint

snack: 8oz nonfat vanilla yogurt with 1/8c walnuts, 1/3c Crunchy Nut Clusters, 5 medium strawberries

dinner @ The Cottage [inspired by caffeinatedbookworm!!]: 1 egg drop soup, ~1/2c brown rice, ~1.5c sesame bean curd

snack: 1c Special K Red Berries with 1/2c original Almond Breeze, and 10 medium strawberries

total: approx. 1900-2000 calories

caffeinatedbookworm: good :)

peanutbuttercup12: aha, I never really run into celebrities. New Yorkers are known for never really noticing celebrities so perhaps I do see them and just never notice, haha. Ah, frozen yogurt at a froyo place is so much better than out of a tub, so that's a pain! Where do you live again?

I'm posting now before heading out for the evening! I kind of don't want to go out, I just want to stay home with my parents, but whatever!

breakfast: [I refilled the bowl twice] 3/4c Kashi Go Lean Cereal Original, 1/2c Kashi 7 Whole Grain Honey Puffs, 1c Special K with Red Berries, extra freeze dry strawberries, and 1c Almond Milk

lunch: 2c red kidney bean, corn, olive and fat free balsamic vinaigrette salad, with 1 oz pretzel chips and 1tbsp hummus

snack: 8oz  fat free raspberry yogurt with 1/4c pecans and walnuts, 1/3c Crunchy Nut Clusters

dinner: 4oz shrimp, couscous [1/4c dry couscous], mushrooms, red pepper and corn, with 2tbsp sweet chili sauce

snack: perhaps a few snacks at the party/a late night snack and probably about half a bottle of wine, ahah.

total: approx. 2000

exercise: a couple miles of walking with my mum :)

annaattackk: No, lol! I just like kept looking at her, so awkward. She is actually friends with some people I kind of know, but I never knew if she actually lived in Manhattan...weird, she must live near me haha.

themanidoll: I wish I lived in LA, aha, I live in NYC though! And awe, love, I'm sorry you're going through a hard time. I feel ya. I agree with caffeinatedbookworm, you should really push to challenge yourself and have a big bowl of ice cream or a bar of chocolate in place of an ensure. Let loose :p! I think the sooner you get used to more foods, the better! I wish you lucky girly! Oh and I love tilapia :P

sungiant: Your breakfast sounds like my kinda thing :p yumm! And vanilla/banana yogurt? MMM!

caffeinatedbookworm: YOU BETTER NOT LEAVE US IF YOU GO TO WEIGHTGAINERS!!! <3 I could honestly go for more 16 Handles right now, lol, it was soooooo good. I'm going to start going there more! Also, your dinner sounds yummy! My brother got a quesadilla maker for Christmas, aha!

Oh, so I just planned my birthday, and I'm going to Max Brenner's two days before my birthday with friends and then on my birthday I'm going to Justin Timberlake's restaurant Southern Hospitality with my parents, brother and boyfriend. Everything is like deep fried and unhealthy, I can't wait!! :)

I decided I want to try to increase my calories up to 2000 instead of 1600-1800. I think adding in more exercising and walking--AND sleeping enough [something I always struggle with]--will help me do so with ease!

caffeinatedbookworm and I hung out today so that's why our eats will look quite so similar :). It was very fun. Imagine if we all had one big meet up aha, that would be crazy.

caffeinatedbookworm: As I already told you, your lunch yesterday sounds crazy! I'm definitely going to make it for my boyfriend ahah.

h_m_h: I feel you on liking lowfat and fat free foods, I do too. I guess I grew up on it too!

krystalambro: apple butter sounds yummy, I've always wanted to try it!

breakfast: 1pkt maple & brown sugar oats made with 2/3c 1% milk

lunch: ~6 tbsp hummus with sundried tomatoes, 1.5 thick pitas and 3/4c Mediterranean salad

snack: a lot of frozen yogurt [birthday cake flavor, dulche de leche flavor, and praline flaor]  with a lot of yummy chocolatey/fruity toppings, and a squeeze of marshmallow sauce aha!

workout: 30 minutes ARC ... AND ABIGAIL BRESLIN WAS WORKING OUT NEXT TO ME..weird, especially since I never notice celebrities aha

snack: 1c red kidney bean, corn, sliced black olives and fat free balsamic vinaigrette salad

EDIT [the asparagus soup was off lol]

dinner: 4 egg white omelette with 1/3c red pepper, 2tbsp onion, 2 chopped mushrooms, 1/2tbsp parmesan and 1c spinach and 2tbsp ketchup

Posting my mealplan now--helps me stick to it and escape binges and restricting!

meisa1291- Welcome lovely! I was craving a cinnamon roll like crazy the other day, so I'm jealous!!

caffeinatedbookworm- I love Annie's Peanut Noodles-- Pre-Ed I always used to have them-- AND I ate the whole thing haha.  Also I tried Chobani and I hated it. I can only eat Trader Joe's Nonfat Greek yogurt and even when I do I have to douse it with honey and fruit and cereal. I can't stand the taste alone. I prefer Light n Fit yogurt only any other yogurt anyway...the constituency is so perfect!

breakfast: 2c Special K Red Berries, 1/2c Crunchy Nut Clusters with 1c Almond Breeze and 1/8c walnuts (550)

lunch: ~4oz seared peppered rare tuna on a bed of mesclun and drizzled with ~3/4 tbsp of miso ginger vinaigrette. a little bit of battered catfish and 5 french fries with 1/2tbsp ketchup. (550)

snack: 5 sugar powdered chocolate snowballs and a banana (200)

dinner: homemade peanut-sesame noodles with corn, red pepper, mushrooms and cucumber (500)

total: 1800 .... and no exercise! It's WAYYY too cold to go outside, ahh. I went out for lunch and thought I was going to die, haha.

Does anyone has the UP by Jawbone wristband? It tracks your sleep, walking, exercise and food [if you upload photos]. It also vibrates when you sit on your ass too long, and vibrates to wake you up in the morning (it sets an alarm clock). I love it! I just got one for Christmas and it is honestly so much fun!

The next three or four days I will be eating out, and although that is usually always a challenge for me, I'm excited to take on this challenge! I feel so much more "normal" lately, and the exercise is certainly helping. Tomorrow I'm having lunch with friends I haven't seen in a long time [one of them knows about my ED...kind of], Thursday I am having lunch at RED LOBSTER with my family, Friday caffeinatedbookworm and I are going out to the most delicious Mediterranean place in the city, then Saturday is New Year's Eve and I will probably be drinking an inordinate amount and eating Papa John's pizza with my boyfriend and friends, so yeah, the next few days will be fun as long as I can keep control over my anxiety and etc.!

breakfast: 1/2c Kashi 7 Whole Grain Honey Puffs, 1/2c Kashi GoLean Original Cereal, 1/2c Special K Red Berries with 1/4c extra freeze dry strawberries and 1c Original Almond Breeze

workout: 10 minutes stretching, 30 minutes ARC and 20 minutes uphill fast paced walk

lunch: 6 oz nonfat raspberry yogurt with 1/4c Kashi GoLean Original Cereal and 1/8c walnuts. Then a little later I had 20 baby carrots, 25 pearl tomatoes and 2tbsp hummus

snack: a chocolate coin, a vanilla wafer, 1 dark chocolate thin cookie, a chocolate santa, white chocolate snowflakes.

dinner [I haven't had it yet but I just placed the order, so I know what I'm going to have]: 1/2c saffron rice, 1/2 an order of mattar paneer, 1/3 naan, 1/2 order mushroom saag, a tiny taste of chicken tikka masala and my dad's shrimp madras. And of course some mango chutney and raita as well!

dessert: a plate of mango pieces and 1/2 box of Max Brenner truffles shared with my mum, and a diet coke.

total: approx. 1900-2000

I feel very weird right now. I just had a binge and I hadn't had one in so long.

I had about 10 Quality Street Chocolates, 1/2 a HUGE bag of kettle corn, 4 white chocolate wafers, 1c chocolate m&m popcorn, Trader Joe's candy, 3 dried dates, 2 huge squares of dark chocolate, a cookie, 1/2c mango, and crunchy nut clusters. What should I do? Don't worry I've never been a b/p-er so I won't purge or anything, but I just feel like I was doing so well and everything and now I've ruined. I don't know what to do! Uhhhhhh. I wasn't even hungry, I was just like having a craving overload and I kept seeing people I know all over tumblr talking about restricting and losing weight and stuff and then I just started having this binge, I don't know what's going on but I'm so upset.

My boyfriend and I had our early Christmas today! Super fun :). We stayed in bed cuddling and opening presents until about 11, then ate cereal in bed and watched Love Actually, and then finally went out at about 4 and went to Bryant Park, Rock Center and etc. It was really fun although walking up 5th avenue was actually killer...there are TOO MANY TOURISTS! Ahhhhhh. I also ate A LOT of chocolate today! I'm enjoying all the christmas sweets though :)

caffeinatedbookworm- I'm really sorry about everything, and you know I'm always here for you! It is really hard explaining a thought process/why you are doing something to someone who has not had an ED and knows very little. As I've told you, I've had similar situations with my boyfriend where I've freaked out about a place we're eating and whatever. I know it is hard but you have to try to not dwell on it too much. The sooner you get used to eating out, the better! Even I am only just getting used to sporadically eating out!

lowri- I am doing a lot better! I've been going to the gym a lot and trying to enjoy life without food being such a central focus.

pre-B: 1 Ferrero Rocher, a square of Milka chocolate and 3 Black Mission Dates

breakfast [I ate this at like 12...]: 1c Kashi 7 whole grain honey puffs, 1c Kashi GoLean original cereal with 1c almond milk and freeze dry strawberries. and then I went back for more and got Crunchy Nut clusters and Crunchy Nut. mmm

snacks: A few quality street chocolates, half a big square of 60% dark chocolate, two big handfuls chocolate drizzled caramel popcorn and a few sips of a vanilla frap. This was over the course of a few hours!

dinner @ a diner: egg white veggie [red and green peppers, tomatoes, onions and mushrooms] omelette with avocado and 2-3tbsp ketchup. 10 french fries. 1 slice of toast with butter and grape jam [!!!!]. A few bites of my boyfriend's ravioli!

dinner part 2 @ home: a slice of honey roasted ham, a few bites of salad, and my mum's tomato and zucchini dish

snacks: a white chocolate wafer english biscuit, a few cups of kettle corn, and more chocolate

total:approx. 2000 :)

caffeinatedbookworm- Your desserts look SO good. Jealous. Try not to feel guilty, even though I totally know where you are coming from!

dutchamericangirl- Mince pies are a delicious British Christmas staple! They're sweet little pastrys filled with what is known as "mincemeat" which is basically a jam type substance filled with dried fruits, I suppose. They're very calorific (especially with all the extra sugar sprinkles on top, aha!) but they're absolutely delicious and my favorite Christmas treat. My mum and I make them every year! :) They sell freshly baked mince pies them at Myers of Kewsick, the British shop in the West Village (if you have ever been there?). They're honestly so worth a try!

GOING TO INDULGE IN TWO OF MY FIGGY PUDDING COOKIES NOW :P

I'm posting my meal plan now as my grandma is arriving from England later and my boyfriend is coming over to celebrate an "early christmas"!

breakfast: 6oz coconut vanilla Light N Fit yogurt with 1/2 slice of warmed crumbled banana bread, a few crumbled walnuts, 2 chopped strawberries, 1/4c Kashi 7 Whole Grain Honey Puffs

workout: 25 minutes Arc, 7 minutes rowing, 15 minutes bike

lunch: A bowl of asparagus soup with 1 crumbled rye cracker. raw veggies [baby pearl tomatoes, cucumber, red pepper] dipped in 1 tbsp hummus. 2.5 oz honey roasted spiral ham.

snack: homemade mince pie! <3 mmm. I wasn't even hungry but I was having a serious craving and they were taunting me, so I indulged :p

dinner: egg white omelette (6 tbsp liquid egg white and 1 egg white), chopped red pepper, white corn, spinach, peas and 1 oz grated cheddar cheese [!!! This is such a big deal for me eating cheese all of a sudden. Dairy still really messes with my tummy, but it's getting better-- I think my "lactose intolerance" was very ED related] with 2-3 tbsp ketchup

snack: 2c grapes

lowri93- I honestly think you are a very beautiful girl and that photo proves that. All of our bodies are different. I agree completely with what sungiant said. If it is a picture of you then you should be allowed to post it. If other people are going to be "triggered" then that is quite their problem. Do not get upset, you are a lovely looking girl!

lowri93: I'm glad to see you back! Missed ya! I love leek and potato soup, and that cupcake sounds absolutely delicious!

coconutlove: Your dinner sounds totally like my sort of thing! Yum.

h_m_h: It's so nice to see you back!

sungiant: Why did you skip dinner? Is everything okay?

Last night was one of the best nights I have had in a while. My boyfriend and I went on a "dinner & movie date", and it was really really fun! We went to our favorite restaurant (Virage) and saw Sherlock Holmes 2 which was really good!! I'm also really happy because I kept myself busy today (facial, NYU supplement, vintage shopping with my mum, baked mince pies) and I have barely thought about food/calorie count. I'm just approximating calories now to stay "on track". I also didn't go to the gym today and probably only walked a mile so I'm EXTRA proud that I didn't count despite all of that. I'm going to the gym tomorrow though! I love it, I feel so much fitter and full of energy already! I'm finally toning up the "pudge" I gained during recovery. I'm very happy with my body now, I just want to be toned again. I feel so good! OH AND my grandma is coming tomorrow and it's almost Christmas, woot!!!

YESTERDAY:

B: ~2c [or more] Special K with 1c fat free milk and chopped strawberries

S: Microwaved Kettle Corn and a little bit more peppermint bark!

L (this was a bit random...): half a pack of apple chips, lots of raw veggies [carrots, red pepper, mushrooms, cucumber] with 2 tbsp hummus

workout: 45 minutes elliptical; 30 minutes arc; 5 minutes steps

Post-workout: 1c TJ's greek yogurt mixed with 1 crumbled slice of banana bread and 1tbsp honey and 6 dried dates

D @ Virage: Grilled tuna sandwich with avocado, red onion, tomato and herb mayo on sourdough toast, with a side of couscous [the couscous at this place is amazing...actually so is the sandwich...and actually everything else at the restaurant too], and quite a few bites of my boyfriend penne a la vodka!

S: Mango squeezie, 3 peanut M&Ms and almost 1/2 of my boyfriend's White Cherry ICEE [woops :p]

total: approx. 2100-2200 :) :)

It was so good to exercise a lot, AND eat lots!
