I am having the same issue as jeanlion. The analyzer used to highlight an item in the recipe it didn't know - and there was a drop down menu of options. Now there is no highlighting - it just puts at 0 in the calories/grams column if it doesn't recognise an item. Why has this changed? Can it be fixed? Many, many thanks. |

it is still happening today - really annoying. is no one else having any problems adding custom foods to their recipes?! the numbers i am getting are really bizarre - even if I just use the '1 serving'. |

I don't really have any advice but wanted to say thank you for sharing. Your post was a real insight into how difficult letting go of work can be - a lot of what you said really spoke to me and helped put my own work issues into perspective. All the best and I hope things get better for you. xx |

| Recipes | Spinach? | Jun 09 2011 09:29 (UTC) |

I eat spinach (fresh spinach) with almost every lunch and dinner - for lunch: raw in sandwiches instead of 'leaves', in omelettes like laur3nmae says above, in salads raw, slightly wilted (few seconds in microwave or just pour some boiling water over it in a colander) and mixed in with couscous/rice/pasta... i haven't made a raw green smoothie yet (spinach, banana, etc) but i've heard very good things about them. for dinner: as above, but also i just tend to dump a handful on my plate (either raw or ever so slightly wilted in the microwave) and then whatever i'm having for dinner (curry/spag bol/tagine/pasta/ratatoulle - whatever) I serve on top of the spinach. if it's raw it will wilt slightly under the hot food anyway. otherwise it'll be the base of the side salad i'm having with my lasagne or whatever. if i'm having mashed potato i'll wilt some spinach and mash it into the potato. if i'm actually adding it as an ingredient in, say, a curry, then it goes in at the very last minute until it just wilts. if you want a spinach based side dish then you can wilt it with some low fat cream cheese for 'creamed spinach'. my absolute favourite dish is spinach and ricotta canneloni - you make the filling for the canneloni by mixing wilted spinach (or in this case you could use frozen spinach i guess), ricotta cheese and some breadcrumbs and seasoning. fill the tubes and cover with a tomato sauce. top with cheese and bake. yum! i might actually have that tonight now... lol. best of luck. p.s. hmm, i might be slightly spinach obsessed... |

with the junk you'll be consuming a lot more salt so will also be retaining water which could account for the immediate difference... |

ah, now that I think you can do lukasj13. there is a little button next to the 'meal' that allows you to drop down the entire list of things that make up that meal (this is on the main food log page) and then you can remove individual items. |

klmeer, also (if your deficit has been worked out right, as per britta_8's post above) eight days isn't very long to see a general trend. best to do the maths when you've got a slightly longer time frame to see how accurate your meters are. best of luck with your weight loss! |

oo glad that helped adstokes. i know, i've been on here forever and never thought to check the accuracy like that. it is nice to know it is accurate - i mean, obviously we know it works because we're losing but it is still reassuring to see the math is so close. when CC did that weird change in the burn meter the other month i lost faith in the math for a while - but now it is restored! :) |

how about making extra portions of your healthy dinners this week and freezing them ready to take with you - then they will slowly defrost in your icebox and you can just reheat on the gas stove (I'm assuming you'll be taking a gas stove but even if you're only bbq-ing you can put a little saucepan on top of that and heat it up). They would need to be good top-of-stove type things like... chilli? curry? pasta? also you can buy packs of pre-cooked plain rice that would also only need heating up on the stove. i used to go camping a lot and we always really enjoyed cooking outdoors on the stove. have a great time. :) |

ha! just yesterday I deleted a handful of old pics from my heavier days - these were pics I used to use as my profile pic but now don't even want on the site. I was a bit unsure whether to or not... but oh well. done now. |

firstly, congrats on deciding to change your life. that's great. unfortunately your methods need work - but this site will really help you with that! i'm not sure how you've even managed three days on 750cals (at first I thought that must be a typo and you meant 1750 - and even then I'd have thought noooo too low!) - but you are heading towards a massive crash where you will end up stuffing enough of those debby's bars to sink a small ship! you're new to the site so all you need to do is set aside a few hours and explore the site. the tools will tell you how many cals you should be eating per day for healthy weight loss, give you tips on how to fit exercise into your life, and all the discussion board questions and topics will give you an excellent idea of how to go about losing weight in a healthy way. there aren't any quick fixes - this is going to take a lot of hard work and effort - and you're going to have to change your entire attitude towards food - try new things, try things you think you don't like and eat them till you do like them (usually just 8-10 portions of a food and you get used to it and don't dislike it anymore). the further you get into your weight loss journey the more clued up you will become about food - you read labels, measure out portions, purposely pick foods that will meet the nutrient requirementsof your body, etc. etc. i wish you the best of luck - but PLEASE realise that what you're doing now will not work in the long run and make full use of this site to tell you what you should be doing. |

i was thinking about getting this because so many ppl have good things to say about it on the forums. however, i wonder if you could just tell me if the programme requires access to machines? or is it all freeweights? and, if so, is it a lot of bar work or more hand weights? thanks very much! x |

as always, the maths isn't that simple - the calories on your activity log don't include the calories you would burn anyway in that space of time - so your burn meter will only add the EXTRA calories burned from the activity because it already includes what you would have burnt in that time without the activity. |

I've just had an email from CC explaining that they were experimenting with a new system but ran into difficulties and have now reverted back to the old system. I wonder if they will try it again... |

Yes - I just saw! I wonder if it exactly the same as before - I can't tell because I don't remember my old values... but certainly looks much better! |
