Everything in moderation. So have your subway and Big Mac - as long as it's once in a while.

I agree 100%. No way I am giving up anything completely, if I want it, I am going to have it. I am having stuffed pizza tonight from papa murphys :)

Good luck and keep up with that and you will easily hit your goal. I have run 5'ks before, but never "officially" at a race and plan on doing mine in the tater daze in Brooklyn Park this year.

It has been a slow start, but so empowering!

Keep up the good work! Cool

My reasons are for health and vanity reasons.

I have been down this road more than once, and have done real well, just did not stick with it.

sooooo.

1. I want to look as good, or actually better than I did calorie counting in the past.

2. When I go on my vacation/cruise I want to feel better about hanging around the beach/pool

3. I want to reduce/stop snoring at night, and it always gets worse with my weight

4. I want to fit in clothes that I have been saved for "when" I get a certain weight

5. I want to be more attractive, who does not want to be attractive, right?

6. I don't have it, but family members have diabetes and I don't ever want it.

7. I want to do my first pull up ever, and it would be easier if I did not have the extra weight to pull

heck, the list could go on for ever!

Weight Loss Anyone here been overweight since childhood? Feb 02 2013

I think I have been since around 3rd or 4th grade as I remember wearing "husky" jeans :( .

Yes it is harder when you have been overweight so long, as it is a habbit, or even in some ways an addiction, BUT not impossible.

I did great a few years ago, but once again slipped back into old habbits. Support really helps, and having mini-goals helps as the "ultimate" goal is usually far off, and it is nice to reach some goals to help keep you motivated.

Good luck!

Weight Loss how hungry are u during day? Jan 31 2013

The last week I have been pretty hungry (7 on the scale) before lunch and about 4-5 an hour after lunch. Not so bad when I am busy, but when things are slow or medium paced I tend to notice it more.

The rest of the day I am not too bad.

ps

I don't eat breakfast and that could be part of the problem.

I had wondered the same thing, and tonight I cooked up a three pound bag of frozen chicken breast and it came out to one pound twelve ounces. I lose one pound and four ounces just cooking it in a pan Surprised

Or enter the correct info for one taco into a new meal builder and if you have two, do two servings, three, three servings ect.

I should have done it that way with a few of mine, but instead do as suggested and put .5 for a serving.

I built a cheese ravioli meal that totals 1080 calories, and it shows it as such, but when I add it to my food log, it repeatedly changes to 460 calories no matter if I change serving size, gram size, oz size. Why is this happening?

When I add it, it says the correct calories, but once I change screens or add a different food, that is when it changes it.

Oh, and the same thing is also happening to my 2 tuna sandwich's. I like the idea of this meal builder so I do not need to keep adding each individual item, but if it does this, it kind of defeats the purpose to me. Hope the bugs get worked out, as it is a great idea

The Lounge Movie suggestions? Nov 06 2009

I don't know who you have for the streaming, but if they have it, and you have the time (very long movie) storm of the century by stephen king.

Or if they don't, how about every which way but loose (I am streaming it now) Cool

PS.

Has anyone bought the Roku to stream the movies on your TV? I have been thinking about getting one so I can watch it on the 42" screen instead of 15" computer monitor.

HECK NO! I live for the stuff. Turkey, mashed taters, stuffing, white buns, cranberry sauce are way better than what most restaurants serve!

Give me my meat and potatos any day, and I am a happy man Tongue out

Great topic!

I actually listen to music when I swim. I have the Finis Swimp3, which is awesome! You attach it to your goggles and it sits near your cheekbones and you can listen to your favorite music that keeps you motivated. Great investment!

Oh, that looks sweet! Maybe after I hit my midway goal. It would be so much easier if I had music, even more so when a upbeat song comes on Cool

Hopefully they would give me a couple of hours to fit it in.....

Start with meatloaff, mashed potatoes, cornbread, 1919 rootbeer

then bbq babyback ribs, texas toast, IBC rootbeer

THEN, a nice pair of jucy cheeseburgers, one mushroom/swiss, the other bacon sharp chedar, slice of pecan pie, A&W rootbeer float........

I think when the time came to fry me, it would all be barfed up, but that would not be my problem to clean up then, would it Tongue out

There is a new apple out called Honey Crisp-- Best apple I have ever have. Crispy and not to sweet. I haven't had a mealy one yet. They are hard to find, but if you find one try it!

They are common here, maybe that is because our state university came up with the hybrid apple. To me it almost is as good as candy it is so sweet. Wish they were cheaper though Undecided

I swim daily, and my mind wonders a lot! If I need to keep track of laps (no lap counter) it goes from laps, to cars, to women, to breathing, to what else I need to do today, do I want to play basketball afterwards, to what is that on the bottom of the pool, to, to, to.......

Sorry, it really varies a lot. I need one of the swimming lap counters though, as I tend to have to swim extra laps because I can't be 100% sure if my count is accurate, and don't want to short myself (100 mile goal).

Fitness What is a good 5K time? Nov 03 2009

I just did my first 5k in over two years. It took me 36 minutes (5mph) and felt a little down as I used to be able to do it in around 30-33 minutes.

Good time is just finishing as I have friends who can do it in twenty minutes without much dificulty, and there is no way I am getting to that point......

I wish there were an area on here just for men. Most of the topics seem to be more relative to the majority (women), and do not apply to men like me seeking out help/advice/inspiration.

How many women on here have complained about loosing there boobies with there weight? I am in the other boat and would celebrate the disappearance of my moobs Foot in mouth

Oh, yeah, another male checking in....

I want to be desireable. I am already married, but it still feels good when members of the opposite sex check you out, nice boost to a small ego.

Oh, and when I get where I want, I want to take my shirt off all the time when I get hot doing work/exercise Tongue out
