Hi Everyone!

I bought my shape ups 8 months ago after my dogs ate my airwalks. I have worn nothing but airwalks until I got these. As I didn't have any other shoes I go barefoot or wear my shape ups. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned and the most expensive. I learned yesterday after buying a normal pair of running shoes though that my calf muscles had adjusted to the shape ups that regular shoes really hurt my calves. Walking this morning is out of the question because of the pain I am in. So if you get shape ups make sure you don't wear them exclusively unless you are willing to ease your way back into regular shoes. They have increased the tone and muscle definition in my legs though I have not lost much weight, that wasn't my goal when I bought them. So if you are using them just for exercise or wear other shoes as well they are an awsome buy. A company called Champion that sells their shoes at payless just came out with a similar shoe to shapeups for 40 bucks so you can always check out the cheaper version first!

Also, those of you looking for a dog that loves walks and runs, you don't have to get a big dog. Believe it or not my little dachshund chihuahua mutt takes me farther than the wolf hybrid I used to own. I ride a stationary bike instead of walking on a treadmill when I can't get outside, don't have room for a treadmill and I have to unpile everything sitting on the bike during the winter cause of space problems, but I just turn on my media player on the computer and ride 10-20 miles a day during the winter. It's great! My little peek-a-poo can take me for a walk sometimes too. So it isn't about getting a bigger dog, it's all about the energy of a dog!

Okay it took me a while to get back to the computer. I tried the yoga booty ballet, doing only what I thought I could. I guess I over estimated my abilities, I pulled some muscles in one of my legs and my back. It is a really neat series, I can't knock it it definately gets the sweat going. I do not however suggest it for anyone who is 80lbs overweight. I definately am sending it back today and I am going to cancel the next three disks. Maybe in a few months when I loose some more weight I will get to where I can do the workouts. Think that is gonna be one of my goals. To get to the point where I can actually do that series. But for now it is definately not for me. Time to go back to Richard Simmons, he doesn't make me hurt like this!!!

When I buy video's I look online at local stores for pricing then go to whichever one is cheaper. I picked up Richard Simmons Sweatin to the Oldies 2 which is my favorite for 11 bucks at believe it or not, Barns and Noble. I got the first disk of the three disk set of Yoga Booty Ballet today and just watched it. I am pretty sure I can do the booty ballet part, but not the yoga :(. My hips and knees dislocate pretty easy so I can't do most yoga, but the dance and toning parts of the video are pretty cool. The first disk has two different workouts the basic and the advanced. I am going to try doing at least the dance parts tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes.

I have netflix too, I just got the yoga booty ballet to try out. I like Richard Simmons too, his voice is a little grating and you have to work up to the whole video if you're as outta shape as I am, but the music is wonderful! I've also tried a few of the firm videos from netflix. I don't suggest the resistance cord one, it's a great workout but definately way outta my league for now!

You guys are very lucky! I have one of those husbands that has been telling me for years that I need to loose weight. His excuses have always been so I can be healthy and stay with him and our children longer but he ocassionally reminds me that some things would be easier without my belly in my way. Every now and then he used to tell me "Should you really be eating that? or You don't need that put it down." I have to admit though he is trying to be supportive of me trying to loose weight even though he has to eat an insane amount of calories a day just to maintain his weight.  He still tells me everyday no matter how much I have weight that I am beautiful though and he is proud of me for trying.

I want to be able to look in a mirror without being forced. Honestly I think the last time I looked in the mirror was during my last hair cut 6 months ago.

I want to believe my husband when he says I'm beautiful.

I want to be able to put on a pair of jeans without my daughter telling me "Mommy, you're fat, or Those aren't gonna fit you Mommy."

I want to lower my high blood pressure that I'm supposed to be on medication for so that I don't have to take it anymore.

I want to reach my career goals of being a cop or animal cop.

I want to be there and be able to play and support my children.

I don't care if I am ever skinny but I want to be able to love myself and be healthy more than anything.

I started taking a green tea fat burner a few days ago. I've always a had a serious addiction to Mt.Dew which has lots of caffine. Thanks to the caffine in the fat burner I have stopped drinking Mt.Dew and haven't had the terrible caffine withdrawls or headaches. You do have to drink alot of water if you take one though or you will get very dehydrated. I've heard of some people getting really sick or having very bad side effects. I luckily havent noticed any of the side effects aside from getting a little dizzy off and on but I think that's my high blood pressure reminding me it is still there. I haven't lost significant amounts of weight but I just started taking it a few days ago. And you definately don't wanna take it late in the evening or you will be up all night.
