So I went to the strip club last night for the first time. At first it was awkward, then it became fun. So. Many. Boobies. Anyway I'm hungover and headachy today. Good thing I took the day off work

LOL. Your too funny and I dunno I'm not a good gym person. I always hated the gym. I only went for a while on several different occasions. I'm more likely to stick to running outside or riding my bike--I prefer those things. It's important to find something I like or I end up hating it and won't go to the gym. Also germs freak me out and people--people stare....What are you comfortable with? What have you been doing as far as exercise?

the OP specifically asked about Black women, thats why I'm focused on that. Go back and read her post. You know nothing about me but make assumptions if you must.

Okay. So thinking about my post I should have not made a flat statement. I have heard this from at least 10 black people stating that my statement is true about racism and why they will not date outside of their race. So some...I also know that most schools do not focus on black history. There are you happy now....ooo you people will eat a post up eh?

I have nothing else to say except it's funny to see a few white people trying to speak for the African American perspective like you all know what is going on........

Here are scholarly articles to support this argument of course some require special access but there are resources out there......

Most of what your talking about is with is generational history. It is a race thing. It is because of slavery and the racism that still exist in society. I'm not going to go into a whole lot more but people who say I just like someone for who they are...don't understand the years of racism and what it means to have 1 drop of black blood in you but thats history and I'm sure most people here only have studied European history..that's another story,do your homework, educate yourself...have a good one :-)

Um, I'm pretty sure it's a requirement to study American history in US high schools which definitely covers slavery/racism/etc.

Yeah, racism was taught in school in elementary school and was incorporated into classes for the rest of my schooling.

While I'm glad they thoroughly covered the history aspect, I wish they would have taught and discussed the psychological aspect of it and why people feel that way.

I'm not talking just about racism. I'm talking about black history. What is there like 1 chapter in history books that talk about salary and thats it. What about black people in history. I heard all kinds of things about white people in history but not very much about black people. US history is European history......

and as far as dating people outside of race. What much is there to understand. How would you feel about dating someone whose family members could have potentially owned one of your family members

dalma: when will you have the results back from the doctor? Keep us updated..

I've been lurking. I was in a bit of a depression. Tis life. Life is a freaking roller coaster. Good times and bad times. Eh....I did gain 10 pounds but thankfully I have lost all 10 pounds . Some of it was water weight and it was hard to lose it but I stuck to my guns and it has come off. I'm back at my lowest 155, which feels good. I would like to lose 20 pounds by August but right now I'm like whatever. I just don't want to gain again. If it happens if happens, if not I will just keep eating healthy. Junk food doesn't make me feel good anymore. It just takes all my energy away and makes me depressed. It also doesn't soothe me. I enjoy eating a healthy plant based diet. I feel my best eating this way. Now I just have to remember this the next time I have a craving, eh?? Lol, we live and we learn..That is for sure. Each time I fall off the wagon, the next time I just get better at it and stronger. That's for sure...My job also sucked for a while but again. I found out that when my eating sucks that my life sucks. I'm an addict with food and I believe certain foods mess with the chemicals in my brain. It looks like I'll be having a second interview coming up this week, I'm very hopeful. I have spent over 1 year looking for a new job. I think this one might be it!! Alright, I'm always around. Sometimes I just don't have much to say and I was depressed. Now I'm in a better place. You're all amazing. Keep on keepin on :-)

The Lounge Any other curly haired girls use the Curly Girl method? Mar 16 2011

I use this method. I was taught by a salon and I got great results so I'm not sure if we were given the same instructions or not. Here is what they told me.

1. Shampoo your hair once a week at most but I know this depends on the texture of your hair

2. Don't comb or brush your hair. While your in the shower run your fingers through your hair like a brush

3. When you are in the shower or over water to wet your hair put conditioner in your hair. Run your fingers through your hair to even it out. Do NOT RINSE.

4. Use some kind of frizz spray. Run your fingers through your hair to even it out

5. Do Not towel dry your hair. You can use a t-shirt to dab the wet ends or a paper-towel. I never towel dry anymore

6. Most importantly. Do not touch your hair once you get done following these steps. Let your hair air-dry

Hope that helps :-)

Hi ladies. I woke up stupid early, 5am, to workout this morning before work. Now I'm sitting at work regretting it because my eyelids are heavy. Hopefully I will perk up later. I'm staying away from the scale until March 1st. Hope your all doing good :-)

Hey ladies

I've been around, lurking for the main part and really unmotivated. I haven't lost weight since September. Took a nice 2 week vacation and stuffed my face. I haven't been on the scale since January 03 and I'm not looking until March and "yes" the pants are a little tight. Didn't work out at all in  January due to sickness but this week I'm back hardcore. I bought a stationary bike for my house. I'm ready to get the rest of this weight off. I want to be done by JULY!!! Seriously. I will try to check in here once a week. I have a lot going on in my personal life, lets just say marriage is rough and work is stress....Keep on keepin on, that's all you can do....never give up :-)
