I don't know that doesn't seem possible that in a 45 minute spin class I only burned 25 calories. I saw other people's counters and a girl near me had 30 something and a guy had 70 something. I sweat a lot and I am sore today. |

She advises to calculate your BMR. So I did that, and I got 1346. I multiplied that by 1.375 so to maintain I should eat around 1850 calories. To lose weight, about 1350. But that falls in this woman's range of 1200-1500. So I'm conflicted... |

Woops - I missed this post: "you dont times it by your 1% of body weight on the site it says
which for you is either 1. = 1346 x 1.55 =2,086 2. 1346 x 1.725 = 2321.85" Nevermind!! |

I don't understand the calculation part of this. My BMR is about 1346 and i multiplied by 1% of my weight (1.2) and got 1615. What does this number mean? Thanks. |

Maybe I am doing it wrong.. but I know I like to snack when I get home at night so I usually do around:
Breakfast: about 160 Snack: 110-180 Lunch: about 200 Snack: range 50-150 Dinner: 300-400 Then snacks or more dinner.. it ends at 1400-1500 I know it looks weird compared to other peoples' numbers, but I am eating things with a lot of protein to keep me full. Eggs, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, protein bar, etc. |

This may sound weird, but I want to give my thoughts as well. To most people I know I probably look like I'm in shape (I'm not though, I still get winded fairly easily, which I am trying to work on) but I am at the last five pounds. I notice the people around me at the gym when I am bored on the eliptical and when I see people who look new or like they need to lose a little more weight than some others, I admire them, actually. They are there, not caring about other people, and are TRYING. It actually motivates me even more. When I first started the gym I was self conscious and unsure. I started by just going to this half hour class and leaving. But after a few times I got more comfortable at the gym and tried other things. So, I just wanted to give you my perspectice because I bet some of the people at your gym are thinking the same thing as me. |

I'm not intending to strengthen them, I'm wondering why they feel so sore. I often walk at a high incline so I know that does something to them. Also doing all these jumping moves and jump rope works them some how. My question is if I do activities so often that work them, why do they still get sore? |

Same problem. I go out to dinner during the weekend, order food from a diner for breakfast, etc. I do go to the gym after work on Fri usually.. but that just gives me more of a reason to let loose with eating. Sunday nights are my problem because I feel so down about the weekend ending. I need some tips too! |

I am bad at running for long periods. I like to do intervals on the treadmill - they are usually 2 minutes running, 2 walking. Is that okay? I googled Tabata and it shows 20 seconds 10 seconds.. that seems a little too quick to constantly be switching the treadmill. |

I'll be your buddy if you want. I am around 120 and I am trying to get to 115 or 114. I'm 5'2''. I'm trying to figure out how many calories I am supposed to eat since I started exercising. But a few years ago I lost like 15 lbs over the course of 5 months or so just by eating 1200-1300 cal a day with 1 or 2 cheat days. I didn't have the energy to exercise back then. I kept that weight off for 2 years. (I got down to between 111-115 - I tried for 108 but no matter what I couldn't. My 5'2'' body seemed to like 111-115.) |
