Heres what I would do, in bold. Adds up to around 1750 - 2150. Though with the amount of exercise you seem to be doing, even that is too little! But it would be a good starting point.

I like these suggestions! the only thing i would change is the last meal. im not accustomed to a "traditional dinner" where the largest meal of the day is at the end. I actually consume most of my calories at lunch so I could move the 6:00 meal to the afternoon and move the tuna to the evening.

Thanks!

Having a 22 year old daughter I know only too well how mature younger people are. She's more mature than I am half the time! I think you've been patronised and talked down to in reply to what was a very sensible post asking for help.

The outline you supplied sound good ~ it might be a good idea to just add a little more protein (chicken, turkey etc) and good fat (a little olive oil, nuts) and more fruit.

Good luck ~ I'm sure you'll be successful! xx

Thank you jacq. I really do appreciate it. i've felt very discouraged since posting this but your support and anitbinge's really helps me to feel better. I really just wanted to see if there was anyone who could give me some good nutrition suggestions and maybe suggestions with past experiences.

I love working out and being fit. And I also love the feeling my body has when it is well fed, hydrated and conditioned. everything just seems to "run" better, ya know? you mention i need more fruit. i was actually thinking i could use more vegetables than fruit. (more of both of course). and definitely more protein especially if i want to be building muscle.

Thanks!

If you read this you will answer your own question.

Lastly, as far as maturity is concerned. you have this strange desire to be demeaning and treat people insolently. I may be a "teen" (if you can still call 19 a teen) but I believe age has nothing to do with maturity and you are a prime example of this.

So why dont you do us a favor and NOT respond to this post anymore as your posting has only been unproductive and combative.

I seem combative because I've seen this kind of desperate effort to eat unsustainably to lose lots of weight too fast, far too many times on these forums, and in my 42 years of living have seen people ruin their lives yo-yo dieting, and going in and out of eating disorders.

I for one have had enough of watching teenage girls planning unrealistic, restrictive diets that will either fail, or worse, work so well that they end up with an ED. - And I mentioned that you are a teen not to be patronising, but because you need more calories than older women even whilst dieting, to cover the bone, brain and organ development that still goes on right up to 25 years of age.

Talk to me again about maturity when you've spent 30 years with an ED that started out pretty much like this...

Good luck to you, my dear. May your efforts be friutful.

My dear, I am sorry your experience has been so horrible but that is no excuse to treat people the way you have treated me. And let me be the first to say, your tactics for dealing with people you believe to have an ED are very damaging. People who are that sensitive to their own body image do not need someone patronizing them even more because they are not "perfect". My suggestions to you would be:
1) try reading a post before you spew your thoughts everywhere.
2) realize the whole world doesn't think the way you do. (I'm not on track to have an ED like you suggest could be the case).
3) If you really want to do some good and help people, go to school and get an education, go to grad school for a psychology degree so you actually know what your talking about, and then use it to help people like you.

And again with the whole age thing... get over it. Age is irrelevant when it come to maturity, no matter how many years you've spent with an ED.

I'm sorry, but you need to give people a little more respect before you start accusing them of being idiots. I came on here asking for serious, respectful, and constructive suggestions. I am appalled at the viciousness of the majority of these responses so far.

I don't know how many times I can say this but I AM ASKING FOR MORE CALORIES. I didn't initially give a calorie intake goal because I wanted feedback from people as to what they would suggest and I wasn't 100% sure myself. I am asking how would you maximize this outline to give the best results/

I'm not calling you an idiot, but look, if you go back to your original post, you give no goals, just state your intention of 'restricting' to what you admit is an 'unsustainable' level to lose 15 lbs quick before you go abroad. I repeat, 1 cup of broccolli is not a meal.

Why didn't you start this with something like "I need a meal plan of around 1,700 calories, to lose some weight in a responsible, sustainable way" - the suggestions would have been varied and interesting. All you did was give a list of arbitrary low cal 'diet' foods, at random times of the day, and ask for input... throwing in words like 'restrictive' and 'unsustainable' along the way.

You say you want our respect? Well kindly give us some too - your original post was a little odd, to say the least...

I still get the impression that rather than a mature, 'let's see what i can do to improve my health and lifestyle' you are taking the 'how can I lose weight quick and daft'? approach, but hey, that's up to you.

I'm not viscious, I'm actually quite nice - but please, ask realistic questions, yeah?

So. My suggestion would be 2,000 calories spread out into 3 meals and 3 snacks, with a balance of protein, carbohydrate, fat and plenty of fruit and veg. Honey, it ain't rocket science...

You are condescending. and as you quoted me saying, and i will repeat here again,

"I don't know how many times I can say this but I AM ASKING FOR MORE CALORIES. I didn't initially give a calorie intake goal because I wanted feedback from people as to what they would suggest and I wasn't 100% sure myself. I am asking how would you maximize this outline to give the best results/"

If you read this you will answer your own question.

As to how my original post was not respectful, I am not sure. It was an honest question, I asked for help, because you find it odd does not mean it is disrespectful.

Lastly, as far as maturity is concerned. you have this strange desire to be demeaning and treat people insolently. I may be a "teen" (if you can still call 19 a teen) but I believe age has nothing to do with maturity and you are a prime example of this.

Yes amethyst. you are getting the point of my post. "more of this" and "add this here". However I have not labeled any meal times as breakfast, lunch, or dinner and do not consider any of my meal times to replace breakfast lunch or dinner. the meal times are simply meals divided up and spread out. None of these are truly "meals" how could they be? I just thought most people would understand that.

I have noticed how many people on here are suffering and that is why i tried my best to make it as clear as possible that this is not the case for me. Also the way my post has been approached is not a very effective way to help those people who do have EDs to heal. My experience thus far has been very negative and I feel bad for those with EDs who have been treated the same way I have been treated here.

My suggestions are STILL no good? Ok, add some fruit or nuts or peanut butter to your oatmeal, drink a glass of milk with breakfast or cook your oatmeal with milk. When you get back from your first run, eat a hardboiled egg. I've already told you what to do with the tuna salad and hummus. Add some granola to your yogurt or fresh fruit. Pile on some low sodium chili on your potato or some cheese. You need lean chicken or fish after your run with your broccoli and maybe some more veggies since you seem to be lacking them.

Is that better?

Yes, thank you. I didn't need the condescension and hostility provided in your first response. Totally unwarranted. Now that you understand what I have been saying, you have been able to give me a useful response.

Thanks again

THATS WHAT I SAID IN THE POST!!!!

please READ i say "My question to you all is WHERE DO I ADD MORE FOOD? The plan looks restrictive right now but thats because I WANTED TO ALLOW people to give suggestions."

Haha thank you Tina

I made a suggestion!! :-) Sorry you didn't like it, but you are a teen, and I think you tried this kind of approach once before, 4 years back, right? Didn't exactly work then, did it?

People please read! I am asking you for MORE CALORIES. I have basically provided you with an outline where I am asking for suggestions for fillers...and exercise tips, as Tina provided

I need to add at least 1000 calories to this plan just spread them out considerably (I kinda thought people on this website would be intuitive enough to understand this). Thank you to those who read things thoroughly before jumping to conclusions.

Weight Loss Am I the Only Quitter? Dec 08 2011

No your not a quitter. Your not a quitter, your not a quitter. You dont quit. always say that. but When you feel like your dragging your feet. let them drag. sometimes its easier and more effective to drag and go with it and get it over quick rather than struggle forever to get them moving again. but once you feel like your ready to go, GO! i always tell myself that if i can just stick with it for one week, i know the following weeks will be easy to continue. So you can say that too. day 1 - just go work today and then next 5-6 days and do something. then when the end of that week comes along you wont want to stop and lose all the work you just put forth. human motivation comes in spurts ive learned. and the only way to be consistent is to have different motivational ideas to keep your mind fresh. make goals for yourself. easy ones first so they are attainable and then make them more difficult.
