Well, I kind of agree.  I think the opposite happened with me.  I FOUND Happiness when I lost 30 LBS.  I was pretty un-happy when I was overweight. Whatever works, I guess, everyone has a different approach.

Meh.  Found happiness.  Sounds kinda new-agey.  What happens when she loses happiness again??  Blooomp - 300 lbs??

Show me someone who loses it while being miserable and I show you the real secret of life.  It's easy to lose when you are happy.  But who's happy!!?  And how do I find that when I'm el blimpo??

Meh.

Motivation Resistance to candy! I did it! Jun 28 2010

I completely agree.  Candy is so worthless.  Eat combinations of fruit, it tastes just as sweet and good and soooo much better for you.  There are so many better choices for eating better, it just takes a little effort to figure them out.  But once you do, stick to them.  What works for me, is keeping my meal and snack choices simple.

I have a glass of wine once a week to satisfy that alcohol craving.  Try eating something with fiber and protein (chicken, fish, cereal, etc.) that will fill you up so you’re not wanting anything else to eat.  There are alot of great healthy snacks to choose from.  It is hard work, but anything worth doing - like losing weight and staying healthy - is worth it.  Good luck

The same thing has happened to me at work.  You look too thin...you better stop losing weight...how much do you weigh...how much have you lost.   I have to answer so many quesitons.  I think, that these so called concerns are comments are made out of jealousy.  The most common question - how did you lose 30 pounds in 4 months?  My answer - I stopped suffing my face,  I eat healthy and I excerise.  No great secret or elaborage plan.  So many people spend money on weight loss surgery, gimmicks, fad excerise equipment (I use a treadmill and walk), It is just common sense.  Then comments on my clothes.  I wear a size 2 now, and look great in them.  Laughing  So, don't listen to all those comments, these people are just wishing they could do what you have done.  Congratulations and keep up the good work.

Same thing at my office.  Just remember, "nothing tastes better than being fit and trim".  That is the Best treat of all.  Maybe bring in your own healthy snacks, so you have something to munch on also.

Your family's unhealthy attitude about food and eating habits is their problem, not yours.  Make it a motivation for you to become more healthy by exercising and eating better on your own.  Family is family, but you have a responsibility to yourself as a young person.  Be brave!

Not All Processed Foods Are Created Equal
Fact: a diet containing whole, fresh fruits and vegetables is one of the best for a healthy mind and body. Although true, it can be hard to keep food fresh at home for longer periods of time, and if you have no time to shop every few days, boxed and canned foods become appealing. We often hear about heavily processed frozen dinners and processed foods worth avoiding, but there are minimally processed foods that do pack a lot of nutrition and may be worth having in the fridge or cupboard.
