They 'made' you stand on the scales? Beware, this gym is trying to convince you that you need to subscribe to personal training programmes etc. The bf% at gyms are notoriously inaccurate so please to not to let this affect you recovery.

I am sorry to disappoint but I have not story of plumbing related heroism. I took of the lid and looked into the top; the cap was on and the water was clean/ not flowing. I returned to this thread and was just about to get out my plumbing snake/ bucket of hot water/ tot drake, when my cousin went and said that he had used the loo and it was back to normal.

So a day of stress over nothing. Thanks anyway :)

Partyring: Yes Chai tea was a ff. Although so was Latte, even though it isn't too high calories. It seems stupid that I still don't drink chai, as I can have the milkshakes or Frappes no problem. It is like, a really sweet, spicy milky drink. Delicious. The Mint Nakd bar is good too :)

Joanneeeee: ugh, I suffered from constipation terribly earlier this year. The only thing that really helped was increasing my calories from 2500 to 3000. It seemed to get my digestive systrem revved up again. As well as that, try drinking glasses of juice and smoothie a lot. that seemed to work for me.

Breakfast: A large bowl of granola with milk and raspberries. A banana on creamcheese on toast

Snack: A glass of OJ

Lunch: Pea and creme fraich soup with a large brown bap. A 3 egg smoke salmon ommelet  with lots of tomatos

Snack: Seed stacked seed flapjack. Some bournville and a rich tea biscuit

Dinner:Ordered a chinese, had a bit oof all the mains + rice + noodles. Spring rolls, prawn toast and crispy duck pancakes

Dessert: Some quality streets and a glass of lemonade

Muchlinski: I, too, did Maudsley. It is very tough but the trick is to work with your parents and against your ED. This means articulating your feelings when they give you a lot of food, instead of just exploding and shouting etc. Don't fight the system because eventually you have to work with your parents in Maudsley so resisting (no matter how tough it is) just makes things worse in the long run. Good luck!

Partyring: Aha I see you went to nero for some orange juice. Well that's where I went to get my latte! I wish I had got Chai Tea though is it is so delicious and I haven't had it since before the ED!

Nakd bars are delicious. I had a Nakd Apple flavour as it is bigger (68g, 220 cals?), but my favourites are the Nakd Gluten Free bars that only come in the smaller size. Of those, the orange cookie one is the best I think.

Oh and I am a bit of a bar snob; both Eat Natural and Naked are very different, with Eat Natural being more textured. Try both :)

Raspberryrose: as Beth said, CIB is carnation Instant breakfast. It is a US food that is a powdered mix with vitamins and stuff added. I imagine that it is sort of like complan?

Health & Support Short survey for those in recovery for ED Aug 08 2011

37

1. Basics: age, height, lowest weight/BMI, goal weight/BMI?

15, 5'7.5, lw - 100, gw - 125

2. How long did you have an ED? How long have you been in recovery?

3 years ED, 1.5 years rcovery

3. What made you decide to recover?

The first time I was forced into Maudsley treatment. I then relapsed and I now want to recover so I can be happy. You cannot be truely happy and acheive your potential with an ED.

4. How supportive are your friends/family?

My family, although not always knowing quite what is the best thing to do, is very supportive and I love them for helping me. My friends and I don't talk too much about ED very much, although it is no secret.

5. How many calories are you eating now?

3000.

6. The biggest challenge you have faced during recovery?

Feeling as though I am not ill enough/ don't "deserve" to recover. Feeling "fat"

7. At what weight did you (or are hoping to) get your period back?

I think I may get it back at 56kg (123lb). First time around, I was allowed to maintain at 54kg (119lb), which was too low and not healthy for me.

8. How long did it take for bloating to go away or for the weight to redistribute?

Hmm, I don't know. It is hard to tell what is actual weight gain and what is ED thoughts :L

9. Things you have learned about yourself?

Loosing weight makes you sad. I am strong, but stubborn!

10. What your goals are for your health for the future?

I want to achieve everything in my potential and not be held back by anorexia

The areas you can "grab" are just skin. It isn't skinny fat, it is just that there is little fat or muscle underneath. You will feel better as you gain!

Your weight is perfect where it is, as you are a recoverinng anorexic.

Sadly, I too have the twig-arms-pot-belly. This is not because you are overweight. When we recover, the body packs all the weight to the vital organs in the abdomens. Your stomach will get smaller. Give it time and do not try to lose weight! If you do, your body will think it is starving again and not redistribute the weight. It should take around 3-6 months.

Keep your chin up!

Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
