August 1st : I started my "lifestyle change" exactly one year ago! Here I am, down 65.6lbs and 62 inches!!

August 8th : Well, this past week I have rode over 200km on my bike. I also went canoeing, kayaking, out for a run or two and spent 3 hours walking around my local city exploring. And I even worked one day (I had vacation time this past week) I did have two really bad meals... One was for my M-I-L's 60th birthday dinner (we went to a barvaria restaurant... deep fried cheese anyone? I passed on it, but none of the other options were much better...) I start TTOM next week, so I am hoping/expecting to take a drop in weight, as per usual.

August 15th : As expected, I dropped a decently big amount since TTOM started on Wednesday. Was 162.(1-5)lbs for nearly a week straight and then dropped to 159.5lbs in two days. August is a major birthday month - My MiL, boyfriend, my mom and a friend have birthdays all within a week so it's a lot of eating out to celebrate. I have been good and picked the better menu options.

I went on a trip at the start of July, after losing an elephants penis and humans brain. However, I ended up bringing home a human head. Since then, I have managed to lose a newborn.

I still hope to lose anywhere between a 2 year old or a leg. We'll have to see how things go.

Start Weight in Jul, 2010: 162.8lbs
Goal Weight (by Jul 29, 2010): 159.9lbs

Week 1; 08-Jul: 169.2lbs (July 10th 2010)
Week 2; 15-Jul: 166.1lbs
Week 3; 22-Jul: 165.0lbs
Week 4; 29-Jul: 162.1lbs

Total monthly weight loss: -0.6lbs *Although, I did get down 7.1lbs after gaining!*

Average daily calories: For June, the average was about 1600-1750 calories a day AFTER factoring in exercising. I can't really say what my average will be in July, especially since I will be on the road until the 12th in the States (I am from Canada)

Add comments:

July 1st - 11th : Out of town on a road trip to Disneyland and San Francisco!

July 10th : Home a day early from our road trip. As nice as it was to be on vacation, I really missed cooking healthy meals and being able to properly count calories and keep track of sodium. This weight gain may be some real weight gain but I am sure that it's also some water retention. I was also sick at the end of June and went for like 3 days without being able to keep anything down so the 162lbs weight at the start of the month is lower than I was really at.

July 15th : Lost some (but hoping not all) of the water weight. Also, TTotM.

July 21st : Another week, another pound or so gone. Hooray!

July 29th : Some more loss! Still not back down to my lowest but have lost almost all the weight gained during my vacation! I have next week off, so I am going to be very active with hiking, biking and kayaking so it will be the kick-start I need for getting back into the habit of the gym before work or biking everyday to work (I've lost the obsession since going on vacation but have been going quite often just not every day as before)

*June 1st - After an awful day yesterday, I have a lot of water weight today. For the May challenge I ended at 166.3lbs so I have set my goal to 160lbs for the month, knowing that there's at least a few pounds of bloating at the moment. That, and 160lbs is my goal for June 30th, the day before I leave for my California road trip!

*June 8th - Turned out that wasn't water weight. I actually stayed up there around 170lbs for most of the last week, even after being strict about my foods. I did have a really crappy weekend, but didn't think it had been THAT bad. I am happy to drop to 167.5lbs, now there's just 3 more weeks to get to 160lbs. I know 3 weeks to lose nearly 8lbs (2.5lbs a week) isn't very healthy, but I can hope for a couple weeks of random extra weight loss, right?

*June 15th - This isn't turning out to be a good month. I have upped my calories the past few days and will be eating around 1800 calories for another week in order to (hopefully) jump-start my metabolism. It is TTOM so that could possibly be some reason for gain, but who knows.

*June 22nd - I had an odd week. On Wednesday last week, I was 168lbs. On Friday I was 165lbs. Saturday, I was 163lbs. Then yesterday morning, 160lbs. I think most of that is real weight loss. I've mentioned in a few posts since Wednesday about plateauing for three weeks (while on my birth control pill) and then losing a bigger-than-I-have-deficit'ed amount during the week off of my pills. I also had a stomach bug on Sunday and most of yesterday. I wasn't able to keep anything down, even water. I expect to go up a couple pounds by Thursday now that I am able to keep food and water down. I am not doing a deficit for a few days in order to make up for the calories missed those two days. I am eating at maintenance until Friday. I am also drinking tons of water to make up for the dehydration caused from two days without much water.

*June 29th - Evened out from last weeks stomach bug. Ate maintenance for a week and haven't made it to the gym since before the flu. Leaving for California on Thursday morning, won't be near a scale or internet to check for nutritional info while eating out, but I don't think I'll implode. I'm not going to worry about gaining, it's a vacation!

Have you ever cheated on your SO?

What were you feeling psychologically that caused you to feel the need to do it?

If you've never cheated on a partner, have you ever seriously considered doing so? Why? Why didn't you go through with it?

Never cheated.

N/A

I have never considered it, though I have had a few moments of "Hmm, this is going to be the last guy I'll ____ with" and that I'll never have another "first" moment with someone new. I just shrug and smile to myself that I am happier not having another first moment if I get to be with my boyfriend as my last <3
(We're still in the honeymoon phase.... 5 years later.)

Thanks to this wonderful stomach bug I had yesterday, which I am still feeling today but able to keep my food down (though, not comfortably) I have had :

3 pcs highest calorie plain bread I could find from the grocery store
Peanut butter
A whole jar of applesauce
1/2 banana

I can't wait to feel better. Ugh.

Quite possible.

I am still on the heavy side, though only 20lbs from a healthy BMI.
I started my new pills last night, so I have nothing to update about their effect on my weight loss yet. But I will definitely keep an eye on it this month.

Stand up straight, feet together and hands at your side.  Jump up a little bit at the same time bring your legs out in a straddle position and your hands up over your head-so you end up in kind of in a star (or the game we played as girls-jacks) position.  Some people clap their hands over their head.  Now jumping again bring your hands down to your side and your feet together again.

The question is, is that one jumping jack or two?  I think its two.  Anyone else have any more insight than I do?

I would count that as one jumping jack. But that's my opinion.

cassenyalogan, make sure that you are getting enough fiber and that your bowels are moving consistently. Also check sodium content for those days before weighing.

I focus more on fiber and sodium than I do with % of fat, carb and protien.

However, I think I have discovered why I plateau for 3 weeks at a time. I believe it is due to my birth control. I barely made progress over 3 weeks, then during the first two days of my week-off-of-pills I dropped 3lbs, down to 165ish lbs. Now, one week later, I am down to 162.6lbs from 168lbs.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
