Eat in the morning. Even if you've overeaten the night before, although you might feel stuffed you're only perpetuating the cycle. Also, 10lbs isn't a huge amount of weight, put it in perspective, try and slowly change your habits. Exercise a little more, eat a little less, don't panic. Good Luck! |

In that situation, I'd eat dinner anyway and just call the whole day a maintenance day. Then get back to normal tomorrow. 3-500 calories of dinner won't make that much difference in the long term and it sounds like you need the brain food! |

So, I'm doing OK at the moment, I'm eating healthily and have lost a lot of the bloat I'd acquired from overeating out of frustration. I also joined the gym, I'm just struggling with actually getting there... I'm weighing in on Fridays, so hopefully I'll at least be in the 150's again by tomorrow! How's everyone else doing? |

I'll join! I love groups, they really help me keep on track. Currently about 160, I've been stuck on a huuuuuge plateau for weeks. I was upset, but it recently occured to me that actually, I haven't gained, so I just need to step it up. Goal is 140 by June 10th and I'm hoping to hit 150 by around May. From someone who has done this in the past-it's 100% NOT worth it. Why the rush to lose weight? If you decide to do this, you probably will lose weight, but you'll be exhausted, tired yet unable to sleep. You'll lose muscle so feel flabbier than you did before. Your skin will dry and flake, your eyes will be dull. you'll have moodswings, alienate people, isolate yourself and if you're not careful descend into a full-blown eating disorder. I know this sounds extreme, but it's true! Since I started eating a sensible 1400-1600 calories a day (sometimes more) I've felt a million times better. My hair is smooth and long, my skin is soft and clear, my attitude has improved x1000000. It truly astonishes me what a healthy, well-balanced diet can do. When I started eating normally again I plateaued/gained a few pounds for three months. It wasn't ideal, but I felt so much better than I had done, I didn't care! So my advice for you would be to not even go down that road, avoid the regain/sorting out of your slowed metabolism that so many CC members have had to go through and eat properly now. The irony is that trying to rush your weightloss will just make the process longer. Work out the correct calorie intake for you, take advice from the members of this site and EAT PROPERLY. You will lose weight. There's no need to rush! |

OSW: 178.0 SW: 158.0 (FOR THIS CHALLENGE) CW: 156.5 Loss: 1.5lbs Yes! I lost 1.5lbs this week, even though I'm a little late weighing in AND had a MAHOOOOSIVE roast dinner with tons of fruit yesterday! I'm doing ok at the moment, still need to increase my exercise, but feeling good about my diet. Its improved significantly and I'm eating 1500-1800 every day rather than bouncing from 1100-3000. I think I've made some real progress recently and am aiming for 155 by the next weigh-in. Good Luck Everyone! (Also, I've decided not to do my measurements again until the end of the challenge-hopefully there'll be a big difference!) |

Hey! I'll join! My mother's birthday is the 10th April and I was hoping to lose at least 10lbs by then. Not sure if I'll hit the full 16lbs but I'll try my best! Stats: Height: 5'9" Sex: F Age: 22 Start Weight: 12 stone 10 pounds (178lbs) Current Weight: 11 stone 4 pounds (158lbs) Goal Weight: 140. But for this challenge, hopefully under 10 stone 7 pounds (147) Don't have my measurements at the moment, but I'll do them for the first weigh-in on Sunday! I've been plateauing for a good 8 weeks now. I think its partially because I've been so unmotivated and partially because I only have around 20lbs to lose now and it gets much more difficult. The moral support of being in a group again would be really good. My plan at the moment is to stick to 1400 calories per day, 6 days per week, then 1800-2000 on the seventh-hopefully it'll shake off the plateau. I'm also doing 30minutes a day on my elliptical and I waitress 5 days a week, which is a pretty active job so hopefully that'll take care of the rest. Congratulations on your weight-loss and lets get rid of another 16lbs! (Hopefully this next ten will take my hips with it! hahaha!!) ETA: Bust: 35 inches Waist: 30 inches Hips: 37 inches Cannot wait to see those numbers go down in the next couple of months! |

Waaah! For some reason, I convinced myself I'd written down my weight for last week! Apparently not! Can't remember what I weighed on Friday, but at the moment I'm around 158.0. I guess the last weigh-in will be on Sunday now? This hasn't been an awfully successful challenge for me. I've been very, very inconsistent. But hey, if I can stick to 158.0 by sunday then I'll have lost 5lbs in 2 months which isn't too shabby-especially as I only really have 15ish lbs left to lose. Anyway, I'll check in on sunday-good luck in the final push everyone! |

I guess the 'ideal' number would be around 22-a happy medium-not taking into account the issues many people have with Body Mass Index as a measure of health. Personally, I'm aiming for 20.7. It's exactly 10 stone or 140lbs, although anything under 149 (22) would be fine and maintainable to me. I'm currently at 23.4 but quite tall and naturally athletic so problem areas (thighs and stomach) are quite obvious. |

Just checking in: 4 days down and no binging! Unfortunately, I think Im still feeling the effects of the brownie/malteser binge I had on the 31st Jan and my weight is STILL at about 160, up from my mid-Jan weight of 156.0 :-( I really need to stay motivated. I HATE that I want to just EAT because I put on 4lbs, its COMMON SENSE to realise that I put the 4lbs on originally from overeating and if I overeat again then I'll put on ANOTHER 4lbs. Gah. What's wrong with me? I need encouragement! There's Peanut Butter in the cupboard calling my name! :-S |

What is your number one reason to lose weight, OTHER THAN getting healthy? To wear the clothes I WANT to wear, rather than just buying things I know will conceal my hips/thighs. What is one food you absolutely cannot have in your house? Chocolate. I just LOVE Chocolate, I could eat it all day, every day! Pringles are another one. What is your magic "goal weight" number? 140. Exactly 10 stone. It gives me a BMI of 20.7, although I'd be happy bouncing around from 140-150, just NEVER want to go over the latter again!! Name 3 moments you're looking forward to in the next year! Seeing friends I haven't seen since before I lost weight, wearing a bikini in the summer and wearing shorts/dresses without tights. It's all about the clothes with me! Who is the one person who hinders your weight loss success? Myself. Who is your biggest fan and supporter on your weight loss journey? Myself. What is one piece of advice you'll never forget? A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips. I know its a cliche, but for me it really sums up the problem that it can take me two minutes to gobble tasty junk food, but two weeks to burn it off! Would you rather look good in a bikini, or be able to run a marathon? Look good in a bikini... I'm so vain... How long do YOU think it will take you to get to goal? I'm hoping *fingers crossed* I can make it to 140 by Summer ( June/July)-I have 19lbs to go! At just over a pound a week, its roughly 4 months. What's the hardest part of your day, food-wise? Just after I finish a meal. I eat too fast and don't always recognise when I'm full, so get a dessert (I have a horrible sweet tooth) when I don't need one. Plus, sugar always makes me eat even more. Which body part are you most unhappy with? My stomach and my thighs, they're ALWAYS the last place I lose weight and I have an hourglass shape as it it, so I feel really self-conscious. I'd love to feel comfortable in lingerie from the waist down!! Would you rather see 1 pound lost every week, or a sudden 4 pound drop in th month? A pound a week. Slow and steady! |

amayou82: wow, snap! I also know what you're saying-I'm ecstatic that I didn't gain in Jan, because my eating was so terrible and was exaggerating with the 'epic fail' comment. it's just that I had wanted to get down to around 155 by now and am kicking myself for wasting time. I'm feeling a lot more positive about everything now, its a marathon, not a sprint etc and I obviously needed to switch things up after January, so thanks for the advice and please keep it coming! |

Oh, I am SO in! I personally define a 'binge' as eating more than 1000 calories in one sitting, or eating too much throughout the day and becoming uncomfortably full. So, I'm going to stop that! Last 'binge' was yesterday: an entire family pack of Maltesers, although it was only 600ish calories, i didn't NEED to eat them, I wasn't hungry and I wasn't satiated by eating it all. However, I did stop myself from going to get a jar of PB out of the cupboard and demolishing that as well-progress! I guess my goal this month will be not to eat the Maltesers in the first place, stick to my 1500 per day and try to lose 5lbs by March! Stats: 5'9". F. 22. SW: 175.0 CW: 159.5 March Goal Weight: 154.0 Here goes day one! Good Luck everyone! |
