Can I ask why you're getting defensive when kathy, tv, and roxy bring up stuff that you've posted previously about your company and this employee and her working environment.

It may not be what you want to be reminded of, but it may be something to think about in regards to dealing with this situation

Excluding kathy, and RS, TVFH doesn't like me for whatever reason and comes across as a bully.  That's why I get defensive with her. She picks on the way I say things, but never once takes responsibility for the way her "advice" comes across as callous.

I am completely aware of the last thread, and I learned a lot from it and made changes. I don't know what else people want from me. I'm only one person.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on the bolded. You are overly sensitive at times and take things very personally.

Would you have to pay the taxes whether she collected or not? I mean, do your taxes go up every time a former employee collects unemployment?

I'm just curious, not trying to make anybody mad...

eta: okay thanks. you both answered while I was typing. :)

Generally, an employer's taxes don't go up for each firing/layoff. It's averaged over time and it's based on the type of employment.  (This is in OH, but similar for other states).

Donut,

Is it really worth it to keep paying her full time for the trouble she's causing just to get out of paying a much less amount of unemployment? I've had to work with way too many a-holes because management couldn't see they were avoiding paying a $1.00 rather than paying $10.00. Do you get what I'm saying?

My MiL has hit like on porn videos and pictures online... I don't think she realizes it shows up on FB. It's awkward. Another older woman I know from school has done this as well... I didn't have it to tell her. It would be too weird...

You need to have a loud conversation around these women laughing about someone you know that "liked" a porn and it showed up on her FB account and her friends were teasing her.

It's out there somewhere on a server. Stuff on the internet never completely goes away.

If you have ever watched a loved one die of cancer, I believe a little brow beating is warranted.

Definition of brow beating- "to intimidate or disconcert by a stern manner or arrogant speech, bully".

You really think 'Bows deserves that because of how a hand-full of people interpreted what she said? Even after she stated a few times that she was misunderstood?

I don't think Rainbows was brow beat at all. And no matter how many times she says she was misunderstood, she wasn't at all. She only claimed to be saying what Nomo summed up after Nomo said it. It's amazing how you jump to assume I'm trying to say the worst possible thing, yet someone who doesn't even try to write coherently and then backsteps and cries about how she's misunderstood you assume she's trying to say things in the best possible way.

No, you kind of implied that I was the only one that hadn't.

No, she didn't. And just because she has no idea of your history, doesn't mean she should have an idea of your history. No one has to go looking through your history to see what you have experienced. If you write like an asshat, be prepared for people to treat your writing the way it comes off.

You really piss me off when you do this. You think you're the only one who has the right to react to anything. You are frequently snarky and sarcastic and then you jump up and down crying and whining whenever someone calls you on what you've said. You aren't a helpless victim, yet you cry worse than many true victims. You're 50, start acting like it.

She would not continue to have a career without either reconstruction or wearing prosthetics.

re 263: I'd have to bet that at one time it wasn't, and there was a battle fought in some courtroom somewhere over it. But that's just a guess.

Yes. I remember way back in the day, early 80's. I just hired on to my first big company and had group health insurance. We got a big supplement during my first year about changes to our health plan. A big part of it was Aetna now covering all aspects of mastectomy and reconstruction. I remember it because I was so young and the way it was worded. They detailed all the various things they'd cover, including the types of implants or prosthetics and that the woman had the right to choose which she wanted.

Edit: They even detailed that reconstruction would be covered if the reconstruction had to be postponed due to complications or other medically necessary treatment for the cancer surgery.

I just remember another detail. If you had large breasts and needed breast reduction on a breast so that the size of your reconstructed breast could be matched they covered it too.

I remember reading that whole thing in fascination and a bit of awe. I was only 22 or 23 and the thought of having my breasts removed was pretty frightening to me. I found the clinical way it was written rather fascinating.

A woman certainly isn't crippled by the removal of her breast(s).

Knock yourself out calling them on it.

It seems super effective.

Your method of explaining what you want them to have meant so they agree that's what they've been saying all along is really helpful.

Take a piece of ham and smear it with cream cheese and wrap it around a green onion that's been trimmed to about 3-4 inches in total length.

Stuffed dates are wonderful too and pretty easy. You could stuff them with diced ham.

Allow 3-4 pieces of food of each kind per person.

It's been too long since I trained a dog to walk on a leash. I don't remember how long it takes. It does take consistency and time to get them to heel and not pull. Mostly my labs walked with me wherever with no leash. I'd carry one with me just in case I needed to put them on one.

That's awesome Buggy. I'd love to have an asparagus patch. I want a rhubarb patch too. I think I know where I could put both.
