in a nutshell, yeah, it's bad. sooner than you think, your system is going to be totally out of whack. the good news is you make very healthy choices, just not enough of them. i found myself having to chug protein shakes at 10 every night just to get to 1000! it helps to divide how many calories you should alott for each meal (i.e. 300 calorie breakfast, lunch, 150 calories snacks, 400 calorie dinner)) so you remember to eat them throughout the day, not be stuck in the evening with feeling like overdoing it. |

had to chime in...sounds like you've gotten great advice! my " ab work" consisted of a belly dancing class with my last two pregnancies! much safer than anything you might do on your back! you really learn to control those muscles, which you'll need to push that baby out! or even cat arches on your hands and knees, but don't neglect your abs! when most docs tell you to avoid ab work, they have a pretty old-fashioned concept in their head! tyr to find a trainer that specializes in pre-natal workouts or rent some preggers workout dvds to get ideas as to what's safest! |

sounds like you're burned out! try somehting FUN and totally different.........like bellydancing or tap class, or even gymnasctics class. it feels so much better to think of it as learning something new, rather than working out again! |

"You catch more flies with honey than vinegar!" which cracks me up becasue she is this super-tough liberal attorney, but she's always maintained this southern attitude! She's one of those people that you don't realize some comment she made was an insult until several days later! |

looks yummy! with just 5 tablespoons, i wouldn't wory about it! you can sub whole wheat flour, but it won't make a big difference. you can get roughly the same effect (thickening the soup) by just pureeing a samll amount of the potatoes after they're cooked and just skip the whole butter/flour step altogether. i'm going to have to try it! |

totally depends on the soup....whatcha making? if it's to coat meat or chicken, then make like a roux, either will do. if it's just a thickener that you add later, you can skip it and just have thinner soup, or substitute pureed veggies or beans to get the same consistency (potatoes, cauliflower, white or garbanzo beans) |

if they're thin (bad falshbacks of an ex!) use a bbq skewer to hollow out a bit. and frosting would work without melting as long as they're cool. if you don't have a piping bag, just put the frosting into a ziploc and clip off one corner. sounds hilarious! where did you find a cupcake mold like that?! |

you should see a nutritionist or dietician and find out the cause. most will put you on a very limited diet and help you identify triggers. mine was dairy....but it never upset my stomach or caused any other such problems. a physician may test for celiac and other allergies, but that won't necessarily identify an "intolerance" vs. a true medical allergy. even if you can't see a pattern between the bloating and what you eat, it sounds like classic food intolerance that could lead to bigger health problems if you ignore it |

remember that what you eat is as important as how many calories you're eating..........lots of protein, veggies and water! without knowing how hard/long you're working out, you may not be getting enough calories! n recheck your needs and be sure to log all your workout to get an accurate number of what you're burning.......keep your deficit between 5-900 calories good luck! |

one thing i did was put both my maiden and married name on my bank card (like i was hyphenating, but i don't). that was whenever i needed to use a card or something i hadn't changed yet, i had something to prove i could be either person! i'm in texas, our dmv wouldn't change it until i did my ss first, but make many copies of your marriage certificate and carry them around for awhile! |

i was in a remote location for a few months...you'd be surprised what you can use for "weights"....big laundry detergent bottles, old milk jugs filled with water or sand, my favorite for bench presses was my kid! |

two more "must-haves" if you're breastfeeding........lansinoh (or other pure lanolin nipple cream (use it EVERY time, before problems happen) and a bag of frozen peas or corn (when your boos are hot and about to explode you'll figure it out!) also, majamas makes the best nursing jammies |

This just mad me smile......remembering all the things you don't know! Don't know if I can cover them all, but I'll try: bottle warmer- i found unneccessary........i breast fed, but even when i had pumped and refrigerated the milk, we heated it in a big mug with really hot water out of the tap.....may take a few more minutes, but you don't have the microwave issue or the stove to contend with. if you're using formula, you can mix it with warmish water and go from there swaddlers-just another ploy for pampers to make you think this is something you need! the spot for the umbilical cord was never low enough to make any difference anyway. you will find you like particular diapers over another.....buy several different kind and experiment. my oldest son was a pampers kid and always wet through huggies, but son number two and three had no problem packa nd play- that is pretty much the same as a playyard, so i'm not sure why you would need both. i liked having a bassinet as well...gives you more palces to put the baby down....we had a bassinet in our bedroom and the pack and play in the living room sheets-i would get at least 4 sheets for the crib, but maybe 2 for the bassinet and pack and play if the baby's going to primarily sleep in the crib. we also used the little fabric (but waterproof) changing pad (about 10 inch square) under them for small accidents.....helps cut down the laundry. EVERY mom i know has had one night where everything got peed on or worse several times a night and it didn't matter how many sheets and blankets you have, you won't be able to find one when you need it! carrier-totally subjective......if you have a friend with a baby, ask if you can try it out (i'm so serious!) clothes- expect the need a six up after just 6 weeks or so........there are extenders that just make the crotch longer, but my boys were alwasy too fat for that! powder-most pediatricians ask you to avoid powder......most creams are pretty equal, i liked one called budreaux's butt paste good luck......i admire you're wanting to have it all "just right", but be prepared for nothing going quite as you planned..........that's part of the fun! |

i like to puree a can (rinsed) with a little olive oil and cumin or chili powder to make a dip for veggies or pita chips.........my husband takes it a step further and adds fat free sour cream and a shot of commercial salad dressing and tops his salad with that! also have tossed with greens......great over pasta. currently making a ham soup (easter leftover) that'll get some beans in the end! |

rock on, SAHM's! i have noticed it is easy to get sucked into college drama, so it's nice to hear from people like us! i've got about 45 pounds to lose, last kid is 18 months old and it is time! i actually got certified as a trainer during that pregnancy to help stay fit, but principles into practice is another story! i workout HARD 3-5 days a week and i'm just starting to realize i don't get enough calories to lose (concept against my grain!). my doctor also just informed me my thyroid function was low and put me on meds, but i don't feel anything "kicking in" yet. i don't want to use that as a crutch and i don't eat JUNK by any stretch, but i do like a good plate of nachos and a cold beer every now and then! i don't know how the "groups" or "friends" thing works, this is the first bunch of post that seem relatable, but i'd love to be in on whatever the in thing to do is!(not sure that makes sense, but the boys are wrestling under my feet!) |

don't mean to sound harsh, but it seems like you're making excuses to not even try! what have you got to lose by trying? stop worrying about what you'll look like with baggy skin (it'll take some time to lose the weight!) and focus on being healthy. you want to be around to see your kids graduate from college, get married and have kids. .....there's some motivation! i'm a stay at home mom too, and it's a daily battle, but you can take baby steps and find yourself doing things you never thought you could! |
