Well gosh, I better not disagree seen as everyone else seems to have dabs on my thoughts and intentions.
You are all right, how dare I have a different opinion from all of you, jeez the cheek of me.
"I'm not that easy to impress, thankfully."
That is insulting anyone that is impressed by Angelina's time/money given to charity, making the world a better place and/or the op-ed she wrote.
You did make an insulting comment. Kathy called you out on it. Now you're being defensive. |

Now if she donated all the money she either got or will get for the story to Cancer research or something like that then yeah that would be admiral.
She gives more money and time to charity than most celebrities.
ETA: than most anyone may even be more accurate. |

Original Post by igloogal: In fact, when we took Lucy for a walk with the handler, she saw a dog coming and said oh I know that dog, she's bossy, let's go this way. So we didn't actually see Lucy with other dogs.
Huh. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it's hard - this sounds a little like purposeful misleading.
That's what I was thinking. Like she was hoping you would never figure out the dog is dog aggressive. Or maybe they just don't understand the difference between reactive and aggressive. But purposely going the other way and not letting you see how she reacts with another dog to me is being deceitful. |

I'm hoping it really does get better after the first 12-13 weeks. If so, then I have 3.5 more weeks of this and maybe it won't be as bad. The queasy feeling is getting better, it's really only bad in the evenings now... which works because at least I'm not worrying about it while I'm at work during the day. |

I've only read the first page and the last page, but if I can take a crack at it...
It sounds to me like rain_bow's beef with Jolie is very much the same as the beef people have when celebrities make political statements. It's based on the premise that a celebrity's opinions don't deserve any wider publication than any other person's does, and their use of the spotlight for that purpose strikes many as wrong. So it almost doesn't matter *what* the celebrity is saying, its the application of their celebrity status to another area of life that, in their opinion, ought not be celebrated.
In this case, I don't think rain_bows is saying that Jolie shouldn't have had the procedure, or shouldn't have written about it. Or that she should feel any certain thing about it. But just that she shouldn't be celebrated for it, because that somehow overlooks or denies the experiences of all the non-celebrity women who have gone through the procedure and recovery without being lauded by the entire media world.
I really don't know if that's logical or illogical.
It has never bothered me for a celebrity to express their political opinions.
Except then she goes on to explain that having a preventative mastectomy is mutilating your body... which is the bigger, more judgemental issue I think everyone is trying to understand. |

Also, after a little more thought, wow... your mom sure went through a lot, both physically and mentally. She must have been tough.
She certainly was.
And now you know a little bit more of why I miss her so and always will. She was my hero in so very many ways!
Your story makes me feel bad about griping about how crappy I feel and makes me think I should be counting my blessings so far that everything is normal. I'm going to start trying to do that and maybe as a result I won't feel so crappy!
(Not promising I won't complain from time to time, but at least it gives me a way to try to positively think about this).
Also, your mom is amazing! :D |

OK, this is worrying. If you are so afraid of making him mad that you would rather take on extra work then you need to talk about this.
This x1000. I was trying not to be too intrusive, but it seems to be a recurring issue and it worries me. |

It rained all eve/night here too. I am beyond exhausted. And I need to figure out how to hook up a dryer. Its been here since sunday and R still hasn't hooked it up. Yet he complains he hss no clean clothes. I only have so many places to hang wet clothes!!
Tell him you won't wash any more of his clothes until you have a dryer that's hooked up. Sounds like he is being a lazy whiny ****.
We have been at the apt every night this week trying to finish moving and cleaning. After his 10 hour work days, we're both ready to be done.
I get that, and it sucks. But from what I've read, it sounds like he is one to complain but not finish his end of the responsibilities. Moving and working is a pain, but it's part of life when you buy a house. His 10 hour work days are no more or less stressful than you having to take care of the bulk of everything while taking care of the kiddo when he's at work. :)
But bringing that up is just going to make him mad. I should just do it myself
Grrrrrr... sounds like things really haven't gotten any better then. :( |

My lady has a different tactic. If I don't wash the clothes/fix the dryer/whatever, she goes out and buy new ones.
HAHA! Love this! Guess it keeps you making sure you carry your end of the responsibilities! |
