I am SO sorry that I have barely posted! I have been super busy lately! On top of my cross country training, I also have tennis training right now because I have a tournament coming up soon with my team. AND I am getting ready in horseback riding for the biggest show of the summer. Oh the joy of being HAPPY when I can actually sit on my butt. However, it has been raining, so yesterday I didn't do ANY exercise, which was nice, and today all I had was tennis, because my cross country trainer is sick and gave us off until this weekend. However, I am still running on the treadmill because I want to keep improving my speed. One of the sad things about ED is seeing how much stamina I lost while being sick. My PR last fall, when this was only beginning, was about 21:00, and now it is about 27:00, and getting better. It is terrible to see that losing the weight actually hurt how well I was doing. Well tennis is the same as always and so is horseback riding, only the running needs to get better :)

Thanks for all the positive replies! I am kind of at a point where I don't want to gain anymore weight, because I am already kind of uncomfortable where I am. I have kind of just been hanging out at this weight (105), though I am eating about 3500 calories because something is wrong with my metabolism, so I don't even want to think about how much I would need to gain.

I had my last meeting with my therapist today! She thinks that I am well enough that I don't have to go to therapy anymore! YES! I love my therapist, but she is an hour away and I honestly feel so good. All I need to do is just eat; I enjoy it. I still have to keep being weighed, and go to my nutritionist (though I don't know why), but I feel like I am done with ED! Now I can get back to life and feeling good.
So today my mom and I went to Whole Foods after I rode (for 1 1/2 hours) and stock up on some yummy stuff. I got every flavor of Larabar, every flavor of Cliff Bar, and some new bars that looked good. This one RawRevolution bar looked especially yummy. We also got frozen dinner for the next month or so haha. I got some calorie dense lunch salads (I always like salad and with calorie info I can persuade my mom) as well as some new Quorn products. We also got some vegan baked goods, and tomorrow I am going to challenge myself at breakfast. I am going to have a muffin. Dun Dun DUUUNNN!!! Of course I will pair it with almond butter and yogurt. I will have the muffin because (a) I need to break my ED oatmeal thing, and (b) I am terrified of muffins. I always think of the 1000 calorie muffin at Dunkin' Donuts. If I don't have it, I need you all to yell at me!
On to today's eats:
B: Oats in a Jar: A jar of chunky PB with about three tablespoons left, 3/4 cup oats, and 1/4 cup dried fruit (dried cherries, dried blueberries, golden raisins, raisins), 2 tablespoon flax seed meal

I finally had a snack between each meal! Sometimes this is hard for me, because of having breakfast so late, but because I rode my horses after breakfast, it wasn't hard at all!
This friday I have my weigh in and I am super nervous. I have been so active lately, and before this week I hadn't always been making the 3000 calorie mark. If I have lost ANY weight what so ever I am not allowed to go to boarding school! AAHHH. I am just so nervous, I want to eat a whole pint of ice cream!

I checked in the box and I think 30 minutes a day is definitely the kind of thing that they are asking. Jogging takes a lot of calories and it says 30-60 minutes, so I don't see how that couldn't be what it is talking about. Also, since I assume you are in summer break, you should say that you have a job that requires you to move around but no strenuous activity, since I know we all walk around a lot in the summer (I believe this is the third one down).
I really like that calculator because it really depicts what one needs to eat to maintain weight. It takes into account the amount the body burns and what the person burns doing any physical activity :)
Did you read Hedgrens post? You will need 2500 calories minimum, and you won't gain, if you are being healthy. I honestly don't understand how people here gain on 2500, but I may have hyper-metabolism, so that could explain my need for excess calories to even maintain. We are looking into the matter, though even if I have it, the doctors don't know what they can do.

Katie: I know I love that flavor! I can order whole boxes of them? Wow, I didn't know that. I also really like the chocolate coconut flavor, which tastes like brownie to me. And cashew cookie..mmmmm. I have yet to find peanut butter and jelly flavor. By the way, congrats on eating your PB&J sandwich. You know what is so funny about fear foods? Once you decide to eat them, they are completely not scary anymore. Well, most of the time... Larabars are still scary for me even though I try to eat one every day!

Katie: Don't worry about being sedentary. Think about it like this: I became anorexic while in school. I was in school from 7:00-3:00 and I got all the way down to 89 pounds, so you really shouldn't worry. Besides, most kids aren't homeschooled, and are most kids very overweight? Even slightly? Most kids are active and healthy while going to school - and you only have to do it two times a week!
On another note, I went to a water park with my friends today! I was so nervous, but we ended up having a lot of fun. For lunch, it was hard to find food that I would eat; I am both vegetarian and lactose intolerant. So I took a fear food (french fries!) and to make myself feel healthier I took a garden salad on the side for some veggies! All of this without my mom watching!

What do you want to be: This is such a controversial question inside my treatment team. My nutritionist wants to see 120, but my pediatrician is all like, 105 is fine... 103 is fine with her... as long as I am above the 5th percentile in weight, she deems me healthy.

Hey! I know how much it helped me to have someone similar to me while recovering, you don't feel quite so alone.
1. When I was about 13 1/2... sometime that summer, not really sure if there was like "a moment" but I just wanted to slim down and it went out of hand
2. 5'6.5 and about 105 pounds
3. I am really far in recovery. I have climbed from 89 pounds to where I am now, and I am still attempting to get my period and face fear foods.
4. 14 and 1/2 (January bday)
5. When I am sedentary, I actually maintain on about 2500 and gain on 3000. On active days sometimes I need up to 4000 even to maintain.

I am active (cross country training up to 5x a week and I am a competitive horseback rider). But on days that I am active I have to eat 4000 just to maintain! I know this probably isn't normal so I am being checked for hyperthyroidism :( I hope I don't have it and just have a really nice metabolism.

personaltrainer: As a response the the earlier conversation on this page, I hate to say this, you sound really ED-ish. Why would it be so terrible to find your body's set point? I absolutely promise you you won't gain very much more weight, if what you say is true about your normal BMI range. I just can't wrap my mind around why it would be so hard for you to do it for 6 months, then go back to 2300 if you insist so much?

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I went to a wedding and wasn't back until about 1:00 in the morning.
I am so happy to say that eating went really well! I didn't save up any calories, and the wedding was a buffet; I always suck at those. I think because overweight people always go crazy at buffets, I am just so hesitant to take very much. Also, the vegetarian options (also minus heavy cream or a lot of milk because of my lactose intolerance) was hard to find. Luckily they did have some great things! I will post my meal plan from yesterday now and today's tonight.
B: 2 multigrain waffles with 2 tablespoons Dark Chocolate Dream peanut butter, sandwiches with a banana in between. A honey flavored Chobani with 2 tablespoons flax seed meal.
L: 2 big slices toasted multigrain bread (toasted with a small pat of olive oil!) with a veggie burger.
S: Nutz Over Chocolate Luna Bar
D: 2 spring rolls (deep fried!). A plate with one half filled with mashed potatoes, the other half filled with garden salad smothered in raspberry vinaigrette, and a side bowl of peanuts.
S: Shared a brownie on the ride home. (from a local bakery! I don't know the nutritional info!)

Katie: Good for you! Your body will thank you for it! I usually just eat a luna bar, or stick a couple spoonfuls of PB down my throat haha. We are growing active girls and we need all 3000 calories. Have you noticed how much more energy you have when you eat enough? I had been wondering why I was so tired, and on 2500 my body just didn't function at its best. I was tired and sluggish; just like I was during ED when I didn't eat enough.

zebulancherry and ziggystardust aka Katie and Karina: I saw the nutritionist today and was talking to her about the things that we have been discussing. She agreed that even on days that we aren't as active, we still need to eat more as muscle burns calories and building muscle burns even more.
Also, in order to get our period back, our body has to completely trust us. We can never be hungry; we should always eat before we get hungry. I need my period back! Otherwise school won't let me into varsity cross country!
I faced such big fear foods today! I had a Cliff bar, which actually made me feel really energized and was super tasty! I also made a dessert (baking) and actually ate a good amount of it. I used to leave out ingredients and hope no one else could tell!
I went on a supermarket raid and got so many things! Most of all new bars! I bought about 10 luna bars; these things are so tasty! I got 1 s'mores, 1 lemon zest, 2 nuts over chocolate, 1 chocolate peppermint, 2 nuts and cranberry, 1 iced oatmeal raisin, and I finally found the peanut butter cookie flavor. I am going to eat it over greek yogurt tomorrow! I also got two new avocados, some more oikos greek yogurt and one chobani, some new rolled oats, and i found quorn chicken nuggets! I like the fillets too, I just am sometimes more in the mood for nuggets.

Karina and Fiona: Congrats on making good choices! Can I jump in the bandwagon? I know I alway say that while being active we should eat 3000, but I haven't been keeping myself doing that! From today on I will eat 3000 every day!
Ok so today was kind of stressful! We were at a restaurant and I ordered white bean soup, which I thought would be really calorie dense, but it ended up being broth with vegetables and like 5 white beans! And then were were in the car for like 5 hours, and I forgot my snack! So I had to makeup all these calories at dessert. I HATE doing that! Ugh, feels like first day of recovery when I still saved all these calories for the end.

Did anyone read the link? For 6+/- months after anorexia, repairs are still being made in the body. One MUST eat 2500 calories for these final repairs to be made. After this period of time, if you are gaining, go down to 2300! Shooting right down to 2000 will be restrictive and lead to relapse!
