Hi again!  I'm still keeping at it, although I had a couple of weeks vacation and went up 7 lbs.  Back to the grind for me :)

It's interesting about your husband Sandy being put on the low salt diet for hearing loss.  I hadn't heard of that being related.  Hopefully you have a local farmers' market so you can get even fresher food!

Hi again everyone!

I've been chugging along at my slow pace, but I'm down almost 5 lbs from that last weigh-in.  I'm running a 10k on the 28th; should be in shape for that I hope.  We all have good and bad days, but hopefully we can stay motivated :)

Hi all,

Simone, don't kick yourself too hard, just pick yourself up and keep going where you left off.  Everyone has bad weeks *hug*.

I only got to the gym once (bad!) but it was a good workout and I'm still a little stiff from it.  My eating was high last weekend but good over the week, so I'm lucky to be down nonetheless.  I've been in a work crunch to get this report done by the end of the week, and I think it's finally ready, so there will be some stress removed at the end of today :)

Simone I know exactly how you feel, I was stalled for months and months and it's very frustrating.  I'm not sure what I can say other than you're getting healthier and in better shape, and your muscles know it even if it doesn't show on the scale.  I hope you enjoy the party and don't find it too stressful :)

I'm down 1 even though I didn't make it to the gym this week.  We have a subscription to the theatre with friends, and one of the plays was this week, plus I was at a client's site at work all week which I find exhausting.  The food was good, though; I managed to resist the client's canteen that was right outside my cube all week except for one sesame snap (180 cal so not too bad).

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi again everyone!

Sounds like you had a great party Terry!  It must have been fun; I can imagine how energetic a bunch of teenagers can be :)

I bounced back up a bit this week, but I'm not too worried since it was such a huge drop last week.  I made both weights sessions; this is the last week of Phase 3 of the program I'm following, and I'm on to Phase 4.  I also dropped my calorie goal by 50 to 1500 now that I've dropped below 170, since I don't need as much in theory.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Another Friday, and a pretty good week!

I only got to the gym once, on Wednesday, but it was a good hard workout with intervals, and I ran the intervals (on the treadmill) in my Vibram Five Fingers which are thin rubber shoes with a pocket for each toe.  I've been reading a lot about barefoot running, and I think I'll at least do short runs on the treadmill in the Vibrams.  They're as close as I want to come to barefoot.  You can't land hard on your heel - you have to run on your toes or midfoot the way a toddler does, which really works the foot and your balance.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Awesome, thanks!  Roundabout, and it seems like a feature that needs adding, but works :)

Friday has come again and I'm looking forward to the weekend!

Simone a rest is sometimes a good thing to give your muscles a chance to catch up :)

I only managed to get to the gym once this week, but I plan on going after work today or tomorrow.  My eating was pretty good this week, and my husband made a really yummy beef and vegetable stew which we've been eating.  That stew is real comfort food, and Calorie Count rated it an A when I put the recipe in.  I didn't quite make it below 170 this week, but I'm hoping that next week that'll happen.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi everyone!  Sorry you're so stressed, Sandy.  If you can take the time, I find even a 15-20 minute walk around the neighbourhood really helps.

I'm looking forward to running outside again; the treadmill is getting old.  I'm too much of a wimp to run outside when there's snow on the ground.  I was still having lung trouble so I didn't get to the gym, but I was good food-wise.  I hope I don't gain back some of this loss when I start back with the weights again...

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Great Sandy, it does feel good when you're done at the gym!  Simone, any news yet on your decision?

I was sick all week with a chest cold and I'm still coughing :(  So I didn't get to the gym, and I'm not sure how much of my loss this week is due to the cold and how much will stay, but I'll take what I can get!  I did manage to get out to a friend's birthday at an all you can eat sushi place, without overdoing it too badly (I love sushi).

That roll is hitting a (minor I hope!) bump this week haha Terry.  The only thing I've been doing is being stricter about weekends, where I would previously loosen up, and it seems to work for me.

This week was another good one compliance-wise.  I ate a bit more post-workout, but kept the calorie deficit to about the same; perhaps I should just stick to the same calorie value as other days.

Hooray for Friday!

1 kg is great Simone, and congrats on the offer whether you take it or not!  Sandy I'm sure your father will be fine; it sounds like he's still active and healthy, but it's normal to worry :)

My new 4-week weights program has Monday being harder than Wednesday, at least for me right now.  It's good, though, to feel the muscles being used.  I've been pretty good about big desserts, just having a small bit of chocolate now and then.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi everyone, and great to see you again Terry!

It's been a pretty good week food-wise for me, but I didn't get to the gym except on Saturday.  I had a bit of a cold, then I was waiting to hear how a friend's abdominal surgery went (she's OK and recovering).  Next week I start the next phase of my workout program, though :)

Hi Sandy and welcome back!  Sorry I didn't post earlier in the week but it was pretty hectic.

I've been doing well too.  Last night was a really good fencing practice - a lot of fun and several good matches.  This weekend I have to work out my weights for the next phase of my weights program, so I can start in on Monday.  I'm also trying some new recipes - I tried a chicken and chick pea recipe with spices that was really good.

Sandy - 154 (no gain recently, woo hoo)

Happy New Year, since I didn't say that in my last post!  I hope everyone is healthy and happy :)

I'm just going to start fresh here; I'm at about the same as last week, which is up a small amount from before Christmas.  I had three really bad food-wise days over the holidays, Christmas, Boxing Day (26th) and New Year's Eve, but the rest was pretty good.  I missed two weeks of the gym, but I'm back, and still stiff from Wed, so I definitely needed it!

Hi Simone!

It's good to hear from you - I was wondering how folks here were doing.  I agree that keeping track is really needed, at least for me it is.  I had a couple of "bad" days over the holidays but the rest was reasonably good, and I started back at the gym last night.  See you Friday!

I'm giving it a fair shot, and it's growing on me.  One BIG problem for me, however, is the lack of a way to enter a recipe that serves a certain number of people.  That ability is very important to me; please don't drop the old interface without keeping this capability! :)

I'm hoping that it's there but I haven't found how to do it yet without switching back.

It looks OK at first glance, but a lot of the text overflows between sections, for example the total calories and total grams at the top overflow into each other, and the weight log status flows out of its box. This happens for both my work and home computers.  I'm using Firefox, and have web page fonts to Lucida Sans 13.  I've tried shrinking the font (Ctrl minus on FF) but the boxes shrink along with the text.

The back button seems broken on FF.  It stays on the same page of my history even if I use the drop-down menu to select a previous page.

I also miss seeing a log of my activities on my home page.

Hi everyone, hooray for Friday!

I had a successful week, especially the company Christmas cocktail party last night.  I had a good supper beforehand, and managed to resist the hors d'oeuvres and pastries, and only had a couple of Perriers :)  I also started the next phase of my workout program this week, and it's noticeably harder than the first phase.  This phase is four weeks long.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Hello again, and a late Happy Thanksgiving to those of you south of the border!

My food has been pretty good, minus a piece of cake last night :)  My weights program said to take a week off between stages of the program, so this was that week.  I did go to fencing though, and I'll have to add some extra arm strengthening work to my weights because that's where I'm finding it hard.
