ally - loved your proposal story!!!!!!!

challenge - I am SOOOO totally down for a challenge. I missed the last one when I was....umm....not doing so great....

okay...so I thought the class I was doing with my friend at the Y was at 5:10, but when I got there it was a spin class instead. So I assumed I read the schedule wrong. I did the spin class. Then my friend was there after - because the class we were supposed to do (Body Blast - mostly a step class) started at 6. So I did BOTH!!!! OH. MY. GOSH. I'm exhausted. My burn is at like 3000 calories for the day. I've eaten around 1400. I deserve that after dinner snack! :)

Another day of working out and my first weigh in for the BLC at work on Friday! I'm nervous! I have grading to do.....

Holy Moly!!! You ladies are CHATTY!

Just a quick check in - I have a meeting to get to in 10 minutes....

I skipped the gym yesterday and ate around 1400 calories. Not too bad. But then I woke up late today and didn't weigh myself (which is an everyday routine) so that's been bothering me all day!

I'm at around 900 calories for the day so far, and I'm meeting a friend at the gym for a 5:10 class. Ugh. And I have grading to do. Yikes! It's going to be a busy night! I'm looking forward to grilled veggies for dinner though!

akasha - I told myself I would also quit smoking yesterday. Ugh. Is it really bad that I'm more concerned with my weight loss right now than I am about quitting smoking? I keep justifying it that way....

mladdy - I took a Cardio Kickboxing class last week and wasn't super impressed. I'm going to try most of the classes at least once, and we'll see from there. I definitely need to try a Zumba! See what all the fuss is about! :)

Overall, today was a really good day. I went straight to the gym after work, then stopped at the grocery store to pick up some sweet potatoes, salad stuff, and laughing cow cheese (oh how I love you laughing cow cheese...). I seriously felt like I PIGGED out when I got home! Had 2 veggie tacos (with Boca crumbles, mozz cheese, light sour cream) and a whole sweet potato! It felt like sooo much! But when I logged everything I'm still under 1700 for the day. So, I'm feeling good.

Edit - I forgot about the wheat thins and hummus. So that puts me at 1724 cals for the day. Meh. I can live with it.

It's going to be an early night for me. I'm exhausted! I'm going to hit the hay here pretty soon! Catch up with you ladies tomorrow!

Oh - and CONGRATULATIONS ALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

muppet - I totally agree about Diet Soda. I seriously HEART some diet soda. I've been trying to drink less, but I also treat it like a snack too! I also LOVE a Boca burger! Actually Morningstar has some "Grilled Chk'n" patties now - super low cal and they are AWESOME. Especially with grilled pineapple a little terriyaki sauce. YUM!

newbies -  welcome! I know we can all make 2010 a great year! (at least that's my plan!!!)

mladdy -way to kick butt with the workouts! Two Zumba's in one day?!?! I'm impressed! Do you ever do spin class? Do they have "Body Blast" at your Y? If so, have you tried it? (I just joined the Y last week and I'm going to be trying out some classes.)

shapie - I was wondering where you were!!! I'm looking forward to reading your journal - but it sounds like you were super busy!!!! What was your weight before the holidays?

msn -sounds like you're super organized for the wedding! I hope that when my time comes I can do the same! Have you already put up pics of the wedding dress? (I guess I can go check your gallery after I post this...)

check in questions - A) Calorie-wise I try to stay between 1300 and 1800. I tend to lose weight better when I eat a little more - especially on a day I work out. So 1600-1700 seems to be the magic number for me.  B) Workout-wise I joined the Y last week, so I'm trying to get in (5) 1-hour workouts a week. I would really like to be working out at least 6 days a week, but I don't want to aim too high. I might up it a bit if my loss slows down. For now I'm still doing okay.

Wii Fit - Okay ladies. I have one. The Wii fit plus actually. Would anyone be willing to tell me what they're doing to get a good workout? Do you just pick and choose certain activities? I find that I'll do one, but sometimes it lasts like a minute. Then I spend another minute trying to find another activity. Suggestions?

progress today - Today I'm doing AWESOME so far! Packed my lunch and all my snacks for the day. Had breakfast this morning. Doing well on my water intake. I'm pretty happy with it. Plus the scale showed a bit of a loss today. The school day is just ending, so I need to do a couple small things here - then I'm ready to leave and hit the gym! Then go cook a rockin' dinner. MMM. The Biggest Loser competition at work started today. First weigh in...so wish me luck.

dalma - thanks for the recipe! That sounds amazing!!!

akela - I also like Fridays. And I seriously had to look up what a beirock is. Am I the only one who had never heard of that? And I slept away most of my day too. But I only feel minimally guilty since this is the last day of winter break and that whole sleeping in thing will be ending starting tomorrow morning!

msn - LOVE the shoes! And the legs! Dang girl! Rock it!

Today I didn't get out of bed until noon. (I'm going to miss that....) Then my roommate and I worked out. Did a ten minute warm-up on the elliptical - hit the arm machines, did a solid 10 minute ab workout and then 20 more on the elliptical. It's hard for me to give up cardio time to do strength training, but I know it's totally going to be worth it. (right?)

Then I met my friend at Panera to finish up my lesson plans for the week (which I did! Yay!) and had a bowl of their low fat vegetarian black bean soup and a french baguette. I'm still under 500 calories for the day at this point. So I'm going to go home and have a healthy snack before heading to my grandparents for dinner at 6. Yay! I get to relax the rest of the day!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sundays!!!

Woke up this morning ready to take on the world. Well....almost. Ha. My roommate and I are going to the Y to workout shortly after I post this. The Biggest Loser Challenge at work starts tomorrow (yay!) and I'm feeling a little better.

muppet - I swear we are one and the same girl! That is exactly my thought. If I have one bad meal, it generally turns into one bad day. Why not just do even better that day to counteract it?!?! I'm proud of you for working out last night! You rock!

akela - I'm glad that you're back too! And both of us at the same time really! We can and will do this! Let's make this our year!

There are 22 weeks of the school year left. Max I could really lose before that time would be 40 or so pounds (which would put me in one-derland...) but I know that's probably not going to happen...so my goal is 30 pounds. I want to lose 30 pounds. I know I can do it. I've lost 30 pounds in 12 weeks before (but then I eventually gained it back...so what does that say???)

weigh ins - I like the idea. Any votes for a certain day? My weigh ins for the challenge I'm in at school are on Fridays. So I could go for that. However, I weigh myself everyday so it really doesn't matter to me! Any other thoughts? Does someone prefer a different day?

Well...I need to get ready to go workout! Then I have stuff to do to get ready for school again....yikes! Those two weeks flew by!

Muppet - thank you for using us as a journal. You put into words basically EVERYTHING I was thinking/feeling. I'm in for any sort of challenge/weigh in day. I like the idea a lot.

Yeah, I don't have much to say today other than how disappointed I am in myself the last couple days. Ugh. Tomorrow is a new one though.

akela - I'm with you here too. I'm just (re) starting and I have that new found enthusiasm again. I'm going to run with it while it's still there!

muppet - AMAZING deal on the shoes! Pics?

Happy New Year everyone! I thought I did super awful yesterday. But before people came over I had only had about 1100 calories. And I didn't really drink much. So...either way I'm happy with my 2.4 loss!!!! I'm headed up to my sister's house today, and it will be harder to eat right while there. But, I need to!!!

On a slightly unrelated note - I am SOOOOO not ready to go back to work on Monday. I have grading a lesson planning to do. Ugh.

muppet - that happened to me earlier and I was so mad I just forgot all about my post. Ugh.

I'm so happy I'm still on Winter Break. I'll be jolted back into reality Monday....but for now...I'm gloriously happy! And Spring Break will be here before I know it!

Today my roommate and I joined the Y. So today is day 2 of working out (in a row!) and eating right. I saw a slight drop on the scale this morning (yes...I'm the kind of person that weighs everyday) and I know it's just going to be water weight, but seeing progress seriously helps me. So keep it coming!

Tomorrow I'll go work out again, and I'll have to figure something out for a good workout at home on Thursday because they're closed.

My goal is to ALWAYS have a bag packed and in the car so I just make it a point to hit the gym before I come home from work. Right after school (like you were saying ash

Hope you're all having a great night! What are all your NYE plans?

Well...so far so good today. I did go to the gym! A little arm and ab work and 30 minutes of cardio. Baby steps work, right?

I had a great lunch of grilled veggies! Now off to shower and go to a high school basketball game! (at the school where I work.)

Hope you're having a great day!

Ladies, ladies, ladies....

I'm at my highest weight in over a year.

Basically, I need to kick my @$$ into gear and do the dang thing.

I'm headed to the gym in 20 minutes. I already drank 32oz of water today. I need to stay on point today. And tomorrow. And...well...like forever...which is daunting.

I'm so far away from where I once was. I can do it right? You ladies will support me!!!

kathleen - you went to Ireland?!?! I went from August 7-21! It was the most amazing experience!!!

Doing alright today ladies. I have journaled everything so far at least. And my goal is to at least go for a walk tonight around the subdivision where I live now! (I moved 2 weeks ago!)

Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Hi Ladies.

I haven't been making positive choices for my health recently. (And by recently I mean the last several months.) I am so excited for all of you that are doing so well! I haven't had time to read a whole lot, but from the last two pages it sounds like you have been doing great!

My goal this week is to journal everything I eat. The idea is also to workout as well. But I may have to take small steps to get back into everything again. I feel like I'm starting from square 1 all over again.

I'm hoping to be signing on here a lot more often and at least journaling my food and how I'm doing daily. So...it's good to be back!

I am climbing back up on the wagon. Right now I've GOT to clean my house though!

I'll be back later!

hey ladies!

boots - yay for veganism!! If you ever want to change it up, i can post some stuff too. i have a really great recipe for a poppy seed dressing that's great on a salad with lettuce, apples, and cashews! it's my fav! (and others of course!)

I think Dalma seriously made all of our days with the 1.7 pounds per week thing! :) So thanks again! It's nice to see what can happen if we really do it and stick to our goals!

and dalma!!! over 100 pounds!!! CONGRATS!!!!

I did workout today after teaching. Only about 30 minutes, but still. Hey, it's something, right?!?!?! And that makes it 5 days in a row! I have to work my other job tonight too...have to leave in about an hour....so I'm off to get ready! Hope we're busy! Big tips!! Have a great night all!!!

iwill - take a book and find a very good time to go in and out. :) read until you feel okay with it.

I started at 286.4 and I'm now at 221.0 (with my actual lowest being 209, but I slacked for awhile and JUST restarted.)

Add me as a buddy and then I can see your journals and such. Also - if you need some inspiration....my best friend Megan is also on the site (although she's basically done losing weight) and had nearly the same start weight as you (I think 370ish) and she's now 135 or lower. CRAZY! Check out her profile here..

And Good luck! Work hard and keep yourself accountable too and it will happen!

Good Morning!

Another day, another 0.6 pounds gone! In the past 5 days, (since going vegan) I've lost 4.8 pounds! I know most of it was probably water. But seeing progress on the scale really motivates me to keep working hard! So that's what I'll do. I couldn't get myself out of bed early this morning to work out. But, I'll get a good workout in when I'm done with work (around 12).

I agree with being nervous about a bun in the oven each month. Ugh. I hate that feeling. Especially because I'm not on BC anymore. Even worse!

That's all for now...I should probably get some work done!

Ah. Another update.

Went and worked out. 30 minutes on the elliptical and 10 on the bike. Not too bad. Considering I totally did not want to work out today. And I've had over 100oz of water today too.

Now to shower and then hopefully I'll be able to sleep tonight! I took a two hour nap earlier, so that may hinder good sleep this evening....

boots - vegan taco salad - I use Morningstar Farms crumbles and homemade taco seasoning (the commercial kind uses whey...weird!). Or, if I'm not in the mood for the crumbles, I like to use Tempeh. But as I cook it I crumble it up. Then use the seasoning. Then I just do lettuce, the crumbles, salsa, hot sauce, and if I have it Vegan Gourmet's "Better than Sour Cream." Yum! Sometimes I just crunch a few tortilla chips on top for crunch too....mostly because it's soooo low cal! :) And a lot lower sodium with homemade seasoning too....so everyone should do that!

on sex drive - I just noticed like a month ago that my sex drive has NEVER been higher than it is right now. Strange, right? But I'm not sure it has to do with weight, because that's been stagnant (or even going slightly up) since November! But I did notice my "confidence" level rise dramatically in the bedroom as I lost the weight. And that made for a much better sex life! :)

dalma - ugh. money. I hope he meant it when he called to say he had his half!

reddy- I agree with boots! We need pics of the little one! :)

Update on me: I have had basically NO energy today. I slept well last night but felt like I could have slept all day. I've been really pushing myself these last 3 days so maybe all that work caught up to me? I also I enjoyed my first cooked food in 3 days today! :) YUM! But I think I went overboard...even though I know in pure calories I'm still good. But that's a lot of processed stuff for my body to handle going from raw to that...hmmm. We'll see what my weight is like tomorrow. Anywho....I came home from work and took a two hour nap! (Yikes! won't be able to sleep tonight!) Then talked to Cody (<3) and he talked me into going to the gym, even if it's just for a little 30 minute workout. I need to keep it in my routine. The not smoking is going better today. The veganism is pretty easy so far. Hope it stays that way!
