I am new to the site today, i have joined because i have a incredibly hard task ahead of me....I am getting married on the 23rd october (4 weeks i think) and my dress is a size 16 and it doesnt fit. I am a size 20 to be honest (yuck). I carry it very well and dress for my size, but when my mum offered to buy my dress i had it in my head i would lose weight to be a size 16 for the big day....but i havent....im stil the same. I have told my mum that it zips up (which it doesnt) but i want to lose some so i feel more comfortable in the dress.......oh poo.....she keeps asking to see me in it and i keep making excuses or avoiding the issue.....any ideas on how i can lose 2 dress sizes in 4 weeks (bearing in mind i have a 2 year old and a 5 year old and work as a carer) so fasting is not an option...i would rather buy a new dress than pass out from malnutrition on my wedding day lol

thanks for reading

Can you get it taken out? A friend gave me my dress at a size 12.  I'm a 16 and the seamstress was able to take it out enough so it fits.

Another option is get it altered to have a corset lace up in the back instead of a zipper, if that would be possible for your dress.

I'm not sure there's any healthy way to lose that fast.  I for one don't lose sizes until I hit around 25-30 pounds down, which takes 5-6 months.

The Lounge Wedding Costs Feb 20 2010

Right now rough estimates are looking like around $10K.

however, this is including airfare, hotel, transportion, two fancy meals, etc for 16 people because we want to get married in Vegas (mainly so his friends can come as they live in LA and its neutral territory).  I am expecting some people to pay their own way (like my parents for example) but others if I want them there, then I have to pay to get them there.  That is ok with me.

Airfare and hotel for us, the actual wedding, dress, tux, and the two fancy meals come to about $4,500, very roughly.

E-file is your friend.  Use it next time.

You cant efile the home buyers tax credit.  I m about to go through the same thing.  You have to send in the actual form with documentation.

I am hoping that I can get it direct deposited.  I don't want my 8K check floating around someplace.  Especially going to the house we're now renting with who knows who living it after us.

i take a screenshot of my daily account page showing my eat meter & burn meter. i save that in a file on my computer and that is my daily record of my deficit - after it's recorded, i'd have to change it if i ate anything else, so i don't want to eat anything if for no other reason than to avoid the hassle of updating that file.

If you want to take that a simple step further, and you're using Windows, try right-mousing on the file in Windows Explorer and look for the option to make it your Desktop background. This will make it the default until the next day when you repeat the process.

but wouldn't that delete the previous day's screenshot every day? i keep them in a powerpoint file (with a shortcut on my desktop for quick access), so each day has a slide of its own and i have a long term record of each day's deficit.

I put everything into excel - cals in, cals out (calculated using the same formula CC does using minutes and cals burned), weight, daily deficit, weekly def, etc.  Ive got almost two years of data with charts and whatnot.  Of course missing some here and there when I haven't counted.  I have a chart that shows over months and months my cals in and out, so I can visually see a deficit.  I get annoyed at the days that are over!

But thats a little easy to change :)

this isnt anything compared to yalls!  I've seen some pretty nasty car wrecks, I drive about 25K miles per year.  I've been very very lucky with my fairly minor rear-end wrecks (they hit me! boo).

Anyways, when I was 12 I had really really bad asthma from having a nasty lung infection (found that out later).  That day I stayed home from school because I couldnt breath.  By the time my mom got home from work my face was blue and I was starting to see the "passing out stars" from lack of oxygen.  Its like slowly being suffocated.

Mom took me to the docs and he immediately called an ambulence.  The EMS lady had to slap me to keep me awake or I, apparently, may not have come back.  My blood oxygen level was around 75% or so...should be near 100%.

It was scary :( Spent a week in the hospital.

Weight Loss Have your taste buds changed since you started improving your diet? Jul 18 2009

Im on the other side of the fence, my taste buds NEVER change.  Its very unfortunate and makes it very very hard to stay on track, especially since I'm an emotional eater also.

I can diet for months on end with no breaks but my tastes never change and I don't get the sick feeling when I eat badly either.

Im jealous of yall :(

hmm ive always wanted to try sushi but idk where to start....ive had plain seaweed and its nasty in myopinnion...but i like tuna and salmon alot and any kind of veggie and im not too particular about the sauce...have a good suggestion for me?

i started with the more americanized rolls (california, bagel, philly, etc) then moved on to like the rainbow roll and just fish rolls without the extras, then to the sushi (fish and rice) and sashimi (just fish).  If you want to go straight for the good stuff, start off with white tuna or yellowtail.  IMO those are less fishy than say the mackrel.  Salmon is fantastic if its super super fresh and sliced thin.

my favorites are yellowtail, salmon, and fatty tuna (toro).  I usually would get a couple of each with a rainbow roll.  SO likes it all too but is a bigger fan of the giant deep fried rolls with like 10000 ingredients :D Actually I just love the entire menu.

are you saying you would take all that stuff off?

a house salad depends on the dressing, but normally with just the lettuce and tomatoes it would be probably less than 100.  Add cals for dressing, croutons, cheese, whatever else.

The entree salads are different. Based on calorie info from other restarants, 700-1800 depending on the salad.  It varies, a lot.

when i lived with a roomy, we shared basic stuff (milk bread flour eggs, etc) and had our own other stuff.  We had our own seperate shelves in the kitchen (she was darn near a foot taller, so she got the high shelves haha).  We also cooked for each other maybe 3X a week.

it also doesnt have bread it in?  If the person that submited it is anything like me, the person adds the bread (the cals for it I mean, log it seperate) in afterwards because of certain issues with products not being in the database and whatnot...

I think that every recipe people input is put into the recipe database...so I take the ones I use with a grain of salt...I input mine weird and really hope nobody follows them and would be super pissed if all my weird ones were deleted.

is your hair fairly short or is it longer?

If its longer, maybe try to cut it a bit so its not like...whoa what are you doing with those silver roots...I hope that made sense

That for me would be the worst part, not going gray but trying to grow it out....I would imagine youd look awfully funny there for awhile...two tone..or would it be tri tone with the brown/gray then full on brown...

I have a heart rate monitor and figured out that my resting heart rate as well as my rate when I'm active are very high comparatively.  I had the full gamut of heart tests done....nothing wrong with me!  SO thats just how I am, maybe you're the same way.

A Week of Clean-Eating Dinners
I’m trying to give my eating habits a little cleanup these days. It’s easy to pay close attention to what I’m eating on the weekends when I’ve got tons of time on my hands to prepare delicious meals, but during the week when time is less available I feel the pull of convenience foods for their, well, convenience. Here’s what I try to live by when all I have is 30 minutes to prepare a "clean" meal.
