Pregnancy & Parenting Lack of Pregnancy Symptoms? Feb 17 2009

Well I have good news and bad news...my little bean is healthy as can be 6wks2days and they found the heartbeat (136bpm). The bad news is that I have a 5-6cm cyst on my ovary. The doctor said it may or may not go away but that if it gets bigger it will have to be removed which puts the pregnancy at risk. Has anyone had a cyst like this and what was the outcome?

According to Panda Express....a 5.5 ounce serving has 150 calories. You probably had at least 2. When I order a pint from a chinese restaurant that is equivalent to 3 servings. The rice is just steamed rice so estimate how many cups you had.

Even if you eat an entire pint, plus a cup of rice, you would have less than 700. If you ate a bunch more rice, well then, live and learn!

You also may want to consider getting a scale and weighing your food. Alot of people think they are eating a lot less than they actually are. Even using measuring cups can be wildly innaccurate...i.e....you wouldn't believe how much rice I can stuff into a cup if I really try. The only way to really know is to weigh your food!

OMG....that is really disgusting. I bought a box of these a while ago but only ate a couple because they give me *ahem* digestive issues. I think they will be going in the bin!

On another note, I once found a broken off hypodermic needle in a piece of fried chicken from KFC!

I don't know who fed you the nonsense that swimming isn't good for weightloss...but I can assure you, it's one of the best exercises you can do. I've lost 15 pounds swimming 3-4 days a week and doing cardio/weight training 1-2 days a week. And my diet isn't nearly as strict as other peoples on here.

I love swimming. There is nothing like losing yourself in the rhythm of the laps. And the best part is, you don't have to sweat!

Swimming may not be quite as effective for squats, etc...but it is an extremely effective cardio workout and is very good for you...have you seen Michael Phelps? Case and Point!

I started June 23 and I am down 15 pounds, although I do think I may have gained a little muscle as well. I am 5'7" and started at 208. I am down a clothing size, and my husband cannot stop telling me how great I look. I also notice it in my face, so I don't think it takes too much.

For your stats, your body maintains on about 1800 per day if you were sedentary. If you are burning an additional 600 per day, that gives you a burn of 2400 per day, minus your 500 calorie deficit, and you should eat 1900 per day.

Remember that the younger you are, the more your body needs.

As previously noted.....you are eating way too little. Not only will you not lose weight this way, but your organs will start eating themselves if you continue on this path. A small sedentary woman needs 1200 minimum. You are clearly neither of those things. If you are actually burning 3200+ calories per day, 2000 is the miminum intake I would recommend for you!

My only suggest would be to reduce the serving size, as that sounded like a very large meal, and also to cut back on the sauces.

CC gives you the calories in cooked chicken. You should weigh it after it is cooked to get an accurate count.

I do definately think 1200 is way to low for your current stats. Your body needs considerably more than this just to exist. Particularly if you are exercising, you risk your body going into starvation mode.

That being said, I'm not an expert, so talk to your consultant about maybe upping your cals a bit.

I'm starting to think perhaps this was a waste of money. The brand is Mio. I never heard of it, but I don't think that is relevant. I am thinking it might go back because it doesn't seem to be worth it if it isn't accurate. I thought this would clue me in as to how much I am burning but it just confused me more!

Depends on what you have in the house. Have a big bowl of cereal and milk with some banana on top if you don't want to cook. Have a pb & j with a tall glass of milk. Have something you might be craving but don't normally have enough calories left over to enjoy.

Foods flavored coffee cals? Aug 28 2008

The flavoring won't have any additional cals if it's not syrup. If it's flavored coffee grinds, it would be the same as regular coffee...which is negligible.

Sweets for sure. Most notably ice cream. I love it and so I reserve a couple hundred cals a day so I can have a treat at night!

So I am large, 5'4" and July 31 I weighed 253 pounds.  My weigh in today was 238, so yeah I am happy. Slowly but surely.

Wow I cannot believe she actually said that. Good thing you are home on this website instead of in jail, where I would probably be.

On another note though, it looks like you have lost 15 pounds in less than a month. Not to rain on your parade, but I just want to make sure you are getting enough nutrition and eating enough calories, as this is an excessively high amount of weight loss!

Unless you weigh something like 350 pounds (which I am highly doubting since a person that size couldn't likely do cardio for 90 minutes) I would say you are starving yourself.

If you give your stats, it would be easier to analyze, but I am going out on a limb here. If you are female, you MUST EAT 1200 calories at a bare minimum, and that is if you do not work out at all! Men MUST EAT 1500!

So 90 minutes of cardio for a 150 pound woman probably burns in the neighborhood of 1000 calories (guesstimate) Which really means you should be eating no less than 1700-2000 cals per day. Again I am guessing because I have no idea what size you are.

If you are starving yourself, your body will be holding on to any energy it can. Not only will you slow your metabolism down, but you will endanger your life. And as soon as you eat normally, you will gain everything you may have lost back.

If I am assuming incorrectly, I do apologize.

Not All Processed Foods Are Created Equal
Fact: a diet containing whole, fresh fruits and vegetables is one of the best for a healthy mind and body. Although true, it can be hard to keep food fresh at home for longer periods of time, and if you have no time to shop every few days, boxed and canned foods become appealing. We often hear about heavily processed frozen dinners and processed foods worth avoiding, but there are minimally processed foods that do pack a lot of nutrition and may be worth having in the fridge or cupboard.
