LOVE Starbucks!!! I love my (skinny) iced green tea latte, it's what I always get. =) As much as I love iced pumpkin latte though I DO admit dunkin donuts does it better...*prepares to be flamed* |

Please don't stress about it. There is nothing wrong with your thyroid/metabolism. I am recovered and sometimes when I eat too much salt or anything, I can gain around 10lbs in a week. I know this is very stressful! But this will happen a lot, so just eat normal and don't panic if the scale isn't nice to you, as a matter of fact I wouldn't even be on the scale. At most I would take measurements every few weeks. Just keep eating your body will even out to its desired weight. :) |

I remember reading somewhere that all movie theater's are going to offer fruits vegetables and more healthy options in the future, not really sure when though. That alongside with them posting all their calorie counts on the menu. The movie theater by me has a starbucks, so I usually treat myself to a skinny latte. The popcorn doesn't really interest me anyway, I hardly ever have it at home. I don't care for salty things especially things drenched in butter (eeeww). Though I do miss the days when I could down a whole movie sized bag of reeses pieces & M&M's. :) Sorry about your movie experience...it happens to the best of us! This is the very reason why I can never walk down the ice cream isle, if I dare see my favorite ice cream available the whole pint will be gone by next morning! |

I think it's pretty rude. If someone wants opinions or help they'd ask for it. You're paying for your membership, so you should do whatever you please at your gym. If you want to work out heavy, light, or not at all that should be fine. Hell, I went to a gym once just for the juice bar. ;p |

YES! I recently started a very active job; for at least 4hrs straight I'm always running around doing something. Of course it makes my appetite stronger, but even with me eating more I'm definitely seeing a difference in my overall health. :) I eat close to 2000 cals a day. |

I'm more on the "encourage a healthy lifestyle" side, however that doesn't mean I think heavier people need to be harassed by it. People usually have a one sided attitude; either love fat people, or ridicule and make fun of them. Healthy lifestyles should be encouraged rather than accepting unhealthy ones, but it's still not right to push nutritional advice on larger people (especially if they don't want anything to do with it). |

Being sick seems to help, but maybe it's from eating nothing but chicken noodle soup for breakfast lunch & dinner. Though I must wonder, have you seen the sodium in a single can of chicken noddle soup? You would think you'd gain weight when you're sick. |

I absolutely understand it's not healthy. And I understand that it's something I, or anyone else, shouldn't do. But does this mean we all don't do things like this? (Maybe not ice cream, but a bag of chips? a row of oreos, jar of peanut butter, sound familiar?) If you say you never have, I know you're lying. We all have foods we can't keep in the house; for some people it's peanut butter, some it's potato chips, well this is mine. Yes, I have suffered from disordered eating in the past. But I have learned a lot about healthy eating, fitness and nutrition. I know the difference between moderation, binging, and restriction. I've experienced those mistakes first hand and have learned from them. Which is the very reason why I'm pursuing the field of Nutrition, it's in fact my major in my studies, I have a passion for this. And I completely understand the whole meaning of moderation, weight loss and maintenance. Isn't being accountable for your actions what matters most in maintenance? It's not like I continue eating garbage throughout the week, I eat well and I understand what I'm eating at this point. I don't deprive myself either; I do allow myself the occasional treat and never go overboard, but as I've said we all have a certain food or meal we can't deny ourselves of. I do this once, maybe twice a year? The thing is, normal people do this a lot more than that. Sometimes, we all feel like we just want to "pig out on something" and actually enjoy ourselves. Then everything goes back to normal the next day. Personally, I think as long as we understand what we're putting in our mouths, eat good 95% of the time, I really don't see a problem with living life and being happy, (if we can't then what's the point?) You said that I could have just had a 'cheat meal' and enjoyed myself, but that cheat meal could have easily been over 1000 calories at Chili's or Friday's or whatever. Or I could have had ice cream at an ice cream place and got a shake or a sundae, with the equivalent nutritional value. We are humans, we live to eat, and I eat a damn-near perfect balanced diet. So I honestly don't see why I can't enjoy myself on very special occasions (as this was, with someone), which is what everyone else does.
So basically what I'm saying is I'm just being normal.

On the Sushi plate, I guestimate is at about 600 calories. Sushi is on average 50cals a piece and Nigiri about 60cals. |

Yep! I used to believe that too when I was younger; it only gives the appearance that it grows back faster, because they all grow back at the same exact time since the hairs are all the same length. |

I used to eat snacks and chips straight out of the bag; sometimes consuming the entire bag (and I'm not talking about those 'mini' 99c bags of chips, either.) Who knows how many calories I was consuming in a day. Disgusting! |
