I was a "normal" weight for many many years but once my mother was terminally ill and my ex-husband was having an affair, the food fest was on !!!
My mother was 300-400 lbs all of my life and somehow I managed to keep my weight in check. I am now 57 yrs old and I think I must weight around 350-380 lbs. I say I must because I haven't been on a scale other than the doctor's scale and that was in October 2009. I conveniently forgot the number !!
I am 5' 9.5"tall and held at 145-175 until I was 30. Then I slowly started gaining weight. The funny thing is, I know what to eat to maintain and what not to eat as my mother was constantly on some diet or another. I have lived the diet !!!!!
Low Fat ? done that - Hurray for Susan Powter !! I actually lost alot of weight on this. I was also walking 4-5 times a week up to 4 miles a day. And felt fabulous !
And now, with diabetes, I am trying low carb. I cant move much yet -- I hurt so bad just walking across the room that exercise is impossible. My plan is to get to a comfortable weight and Then start Moving !!
I can do this !!
