She's gorgeous.  I think she could be a great role model for young girls.  I just hope that Hollywood doesn't change her.  It is easy to say that you don't believe in being super skinny, but if she starts losing parts or directors tell her she isn't skinny enough, that wears on a person.  The nature of the business that she is in, is not conducive to healthy eating and thinking.  We need more girls with her attitude, and I hope she sticks to her guns.

The only healthy relationships that I have been in the guy has been younger than me.  My husband is 5 years younger.  It makes me laugh when I am talking about pop culture from the 80's and he has no idea what I am talking about because he was only 4 or 5. :)

this is what sparked concern:

"The detective told him that his four-year-old daughter had drawn a picture of a man holding a gun. When a teacher asked her who the man was, the girl replied, “That’s my daddy’s. He uses it to shoot bad guys and monsters.”

But, kids know guns hurt things....they know daddies protect them....couldn't the kid have just been drawing out her own idea that this is how daddy would defeat monsters and bad guys? That doesn't seem like real evidence to me.....in fact, in the US, we don't even allow the testimony of children in most cases because of its unreliability.....

Mommies protect them from bad guys too... We don't have kids yet but my husband and I both own guns.  He knows my stand on the issue.  Break into my house and try to hurt me or someone I love and I will fight you to the death.. hopefully yours... not mine.

Still not real evidence.  She drew a picture of a water gun.

I am still bothered that they strip searched him.. a pat down search to determine if he had a weapon on him wasn't good enough?  Really?!

Is this for real?  Since when is it illegal to own a fire arm?  Did I miss something?  I am pretty sure we still have a constitutional right to bear arms.  Explain to me how he can be arrested and CHARGED for Suspicion of OWNING a fire arm?  He isn't a convicted felon... so even if there was a gun in the home, I am still wondering how they thought that this was OK to arrest a man for suspicion of owning a fire arm.  Then to strip search him?  o_0

You are doing great.  I think you already know that, and you know you are losing in a healthy way.

A lot of us have gone through this kind of abuse.  My Dad was the worst when I was growing up.  My sister and I are ruined because of his awful comments.  "You better not be pregnant" comes to mind, as does grabbing my tummy at a family reunion and saying in front of everyone, "I think you better just get a salad".  I think that he thought he was helping.

I was always a skinny kid.  When I was 19 I got hurt at work and was put on steroids.  I gained 30 pounds in 2 months and he ridiculed me.  When I went off the steroids, I started losing naturally.  After the tummy grabbing incident I barely ate and it killed my body.  I lost the weight, but 13 years later I still struggle with eating ENOUGH.  I am a normal weight but I am hard on myself and he still makes comments.  Lately he thinks I don't work out enough.  I work out 3 days a week (after re injuring my neck last year overdoing it at the gym 6 days a week 2 hours a day).

I know that I am doing the right thing, but it is a struggle every single day.  Don't listen to your family member.  Try to remember that you are doing it right.  Don't get to the point I did.  I struggle with eating enough every single day.

Falling off of the treadmill. I thought that I could "ride" it to the end of the track and step off gracefully.

I was watching a movie on the treadmill at the gym.  It was a scary movie.  I jumped at a scene that you are supposed to jump... I fell off the treadmill.  SO embarrassing!  I decided I was done working out that day and left a pretty shade of red.

In the shower shaving my armpit, dropped the razor.  I now have a LOVELY scar down the center or my nipple.  Ever cut your nipple?  Don't.

DH and I watched the first horrifying minutes of Comic Book Men to watch an exclusive scene during the shows first commercial and it was SO not worth it. The glimpse into next week's episode already put that point across and thought it as a cheap ploy to get viewers for Kevin Smith's awful show.

I watched about 5 minutes of Comic Book Men... I could see liking it if I were into comic books.  I mean REALLY into them.  But I'm not.. It's too bad.. I really like Kevin Smith.

I thought in a previous thread we determined that most people would prefer a gay child??

This is confusing.  And what's with "fashion jewelry"...?  If you ain't got the monsy to by "real"jewelry...just don't!  And who the **** wears a ****ing "broach"?  Besides women of the Red Hat Society??

I get a new dragon fly brooch every year from my step Mom.  I think because she doesn't know what else to get me.  Sometimes I wear one on the lapel of my suite.

FYI, JCPENNYS is AWESOME now.  Their new ideas of how to run a store and have the sale price ALL the time is great.  I spent a crap ton there two weekends in a row.  I never shop because I kind of hate the whole thing.  I always miss the sale or leave the coupon at home.  I gave up on getting the good price.  But I did.. I DID get the good prices!  I found a GREAT $4 bra!!! It is really comfy too!  New favorite store.

I used to have a problem.  Now I don't.  I COMPLETELY agree with using him.  We discovered that was my problem.  Now we concentrate on ME only.  (He will get there no matter what, so why bother worrying about his O?)  What we do depends on the mood I am in.  If something is not working I know within a minute and we try something else.  The key to great sex is communication and a great partner that wants you to get there.

So I was in this boat last year.  I was logging everything and GAINING not losing.  I knew every morsel that went into my body and got a heart rate monitor for the gym so that I could more accurately log my workouts.  I was still gaining.  I upped my calories because people here said I wasn't eating enough.. I wasn't... so I upped.  and my weight increased even faster.. for months I didn't weigh so I wouldn't think about the scale.  I focused on eating right.  When I did weigh I found I had gained even MORE weight.

I finally went to see my doctor.  He told me I was eating too much at 1500 calories a day.  I went down to 1200.  (In hindsight I should have gotten a second opinion).  I still gained, but a little slower.  I went back.  He tested my thyroid.  That wasn't it.  I finally went to see someone else.  Somehow I explained that I was also exhausted all the time... LIKE ALL THE TIME.  A light bulb went off.  He sent me for a CRAZY blood test.

Finally a diagnosis.  Chronic Epstein Barr.  I have had this little joy for so long it turned my metabolism almost off.  I had my metabolism tested (I forgot what it is called) I was burning about 500 calories a day... My hypothalamus had taken a beating for so long.  I was also getting hot and cold flashes (a little early for 31) and some other odd things.  After 8 months of medication, (anti-virals 4 times a day and now a new medication to regulate the hypothalamus) I am finally stabilizing.  I am on the path to losing all the weight I gained.  SLOWLY, but hey, 1 pound a month is better than gaining!

The point of this is, if you think you are doing all the right things, it might be time to see a doctor.  Don't let them shoo you out the door.  Don't let them sell you on weight loss crap.  If they try to make you buy something, go see another doctor.  You never know if your inability to lose goes deeper than you think.

Stay Out of it!!  In 5 months when you move out you can do whatever.  But you said that once you felt that your safety was in jeopardy.  What do you think would happen if you told his on again off again girl friend.  Things will just get worse.  I get that you feel bad for her, but you have to think about yourself too.

I have been put on them twice in my life.  Once in high school and my Mom almost immediately took me off of them.  The second time was for a serious neck injury.  I was starving all the time!! I gained 30 pounds in 30 days before I realized what was going on.  As soon as I went off of them, I was able to lose the weight pretty easily.  I will never allow a doctor to put me on them again!

It is so weird.  I had so many problems with other hormonal birth controls, and such success with Nuva Ring that when someone says it didn't work for them or they didn't like it, my internal voice says "they must not have used it right" or something equally as stupid.  I wonder why I am so testy about it?!  ha ha.  My twin sister also has had success with Nuva.  I think that everyone is different and everyone's experience will be different.  I haven't had any problems with it.  But Depo was a nightmare for me.  A real nightmare and it took me a year to get my period back.  But I see from this thread that there are at least a few that loved Depo.  My sister is on that right now and she loves it.  We are all so different, I guess for those that have not found the right one yet, I would say just keep looking.
