I have lost and kept of 85 lb (gained the weight when was pregnant with my babe boy) and went down form size 16 to size 2. Worked up the confidence to compete in the OCB Eastern Regional Fitness Model competition and placed 2nd place in Fitness model division and 6th in the Bikini division, and NPC J Cutler in August 2012 placed 10 in the Bikini Division.
Unfortunately between first competition and now I signed up for too much training: kettlebell, tactical combat training, boxing, kickboxing, yoga, aerial yoga, zubma, sandbag, TRX, pilates - so that I can have a variety of tools to make fitness life a fun one and also to prevent injuries - but I forgot to rest and give myself time to recover. Now battling with elbow tendonitis and recurring knee pain I went back to the pre-competition weight because I was not able to workout and got depressed which lead to too much binging.
But no more I am putting my foot down and instead facing the fact that yes I have to go back and start at square one with both training (a year of doing very little most of muscle mass is gone and cardio-endurance is surely not even close to what it used to be) and nutrition (even though I eat well I tend to over eat especially on the weekend and too much of a good thing is still too much).
Plus I am not able to use any protein powder or BCAA to help me with recovery since my liver is not able to process it and I cannot hold any vitamins down. Thus the challenge with nutrition is to successfully meet my nutrient needs while gaining lean mass and loosing fat. I am t 23.4% body fat now and the goal is go down to 14%.
But more then anything else I am in search of balance where I am not deprived of life's adventure and able to successfully stay lean and healthy.
So if you are looking to find a plan that helps you gt in the best shape without over training or if you are nursing an injury or weather you are looking for great ways to get worked inspired artisan fit cuisine then check out my blog www.essefit.com and find your inspiration.
