NAME: Marie Honestly I think I reached a plateau, I can't seem to lose even if I keep getting about 300 to 500 calories deficit each day since september...it's probably because I'm doing strength training so I'm gaining muscle. I'll stay in the challenge anyway :) |

After losing some weight I started maintaining because of various reasons, mainly because I had reached my healthy weight. Well I am back to lose the last vanity pounds; I want to prove myself I can do it! First, well congrats on losing those pounds, don't worry on gaining it back, it's disappointing I know but it's part of the game. But you have to keep in mind that losing weight takes time (well it did take time for it to get up so don't expect less for the losing part) For some, it's normal to lose a lot at the begining then the body adjusts and it takes a little bit longer to lose, I did lose REALLY slowly (progress is in my profile) but I didn't want to damage my body. I know it is hard to keep up with the good habits everyday and to maintain them later, but it is worth it. Don't worry, take it one step at a time! I'm sure you'll be able to achieve your goal if you really want to, motivation helps a lot. I also came across the post about motivation quotes today on CC, you should look at it :) I love those quotes. PS: I used to have 0 self esteem, well I still am a bit low on it, but learning to accept yourself first helps a lot (which is not easy). But to be able to do it I told myself I was beautiful, and the most important part: I also told myself "If other people aren't pleased with the way I look, then they should look elsewhere" and everytime I tell myself this, I feel better because I don't think I should act or be like everyone wants me to be because I need to be who I am. In any ways, keep up the hard work :)

I do see the difference too, but don't worry, I also always see me bigger than I really am.... I used to say to my bf that I don't see any difference after my first 20 pounds loss but he says he saw the changes. And about the pound you say you gained, it's normal, everyone will be gaining at some point, maybe because of water retention, or simply because you gained muscle (which weights more than fat). Plus, you have to see all the good habits you are gaining and think about every efforts you make, keep in mind all those changes will help you achieve your goal and get healthier, one step at a time. I know it's hard because I used to want to lose so fast too but unfortunately, sometimes, your body won't obey immediatly ;) In any ways, keep up the good work, you are doing really great!!! |

Great thing Laura, I should follow your example en drink much more water :) Well here's this week weight-in: Height: 5'2" Working things pretty slowly, it's hard to get back on track and winter's still fully here, I'm looking forward to spring, no more shoveling yayz! (well at least shoveling is almost a cardio training, since we do shovel about 20 to 60 mins per 2 days...) Sorry I don't post so often, I'll try to watch the forum more in the future. |

I love the idea! here are my stats: Name: Marie I've not logged my food since may 2011 (when I weighed 123 lbs) and now I'm at 131... not pretty pround of myself since I've been doing almost nothing since then, mostly because I gave myself pretty bad excuses such as; I'm too tired because of school and work and I don't have the time... well we all know that I must TAKE the time. I know it won't be easy (mostly now since it's the Holidays) but posting here weekly is for me, the first step to change. Well, good luck to you all! |

March 20 2010: 165 lbs May 20 2011: 126 lbs Lost 39 lbs in 14 months (progress is in my profile) I think that rushing it won't be really healthy plus, you might gain all you lost. At the moment I'm trying to maintain and to pretty slowly lose down to my ultimate goal (118) which is healthy for me since I'm short (5'2") Good luck ;) |
