Today I have a bit of time on my hands I don't normally so I thought I would check out the forums.  There are all these posts about Jesus - all of them appear to be disrespectful and completely lacking in taste and sensitivity.  I get that there is a history to all of this, that the masses are pouncing on someone who has offended them...I get it...I went to high school ...but without actually being here for the start of it, I am so embarrassed to have recommended this site to anyone who comes here today. 

I probably could have kept this to myself or talked about it in my journal but as a member of this site since 2006, I shouldn't have to fear my opinion being put out there.  I miss the beginning of this site - it was so much more kinder and gentler of a place then.  I pray that this day was just an anamoly and is not indicative of what the site's community now stands for.

 Yeah, I hear where your coming from.  I just ignore it, but its gotten crazy enough that I think I'm just gonna keep using this websites tools but avoid the lounge forum by the plague.  I didn't realize the mentality of what seems to be a majority of the people on it.

Some of the replies it in were pretty funny.  The Buddy Jesus statue from Dogma makes me laugh every time I see it.  :P

I grew up on a farm where we had a number or horses and goats.  We had one of those electric fences where it wasn't a real danger but it was simply uncomfortable to touch.  Me and my brother used to have little contests to see who would hold it the longest. 

Anyway, that's not the story, but this is.

He was riding his quad one day and he ended up going through the said electric fence at a decent speed.  We were having a BBQ and there was a lot of people there.  The horses were in a different field and the electric tape to the fence he went through was off.  Beyond have it wrapped around him, he was fine.  Knowing the level of shock that the fence gives, I thought it would be funny to turn it on, so I quickly ran over to the power box and turned the juice up.

Onlookers quickly gathered as my brother yelled curses at me, tried to take the electric tape off himself, and then spasmed as it shocked him (it was a pulse fence, not a constant flow), which caused him to drop the tape and start again, trying to pull it off, before another pulse came.  Then they looked over and saw me laugh, standing at the power box, and not moving a finger to turn it off.

Most of my distant family got a real bad first impression of me that day.  :P

I still have a landline and I have never owned a cel phone.  Email me if you need to contact me, when I leave home I don't want to be called.  :P

I don't even like talking on the phone in the first place.  :O

I have arachnophobia.  Don't remember when it started.  The more colorful the spider, the more it freaks me out.  I can't even touch common house spiders unless its with something at least a foot long.  If a spider or a spider web gets on me I freak out and usually rip off the clothing they are on, throw it on the ground, and stomp on it.  If it touches bare skin I scream like a baby.  :P

I get all jittery if I realize I was holding something that had a spider crawling around on it, or come close to touching one.  I usually won't put my hand in something that I saw a spider in, or think there is one inside.  ;p

Of course I mean it, however, I'm referring to how people are reacting to each other in some other threads.  I find it silly.  :P

This thread doesn't bother me at all, nor does anything in the other one.  I'm just commenting on what I've been reading.  A bystander, if you will.  XD

I believe in God and I'm a Christian.  I just ignore posts that bother me because arguing on the Internet is like special olympics, even if you win you're still retarded.

Besides, everybodies opinion regarding religion doesn't affect where I'm going or what I believe so why should I let it bother me?  I don't understand the people that get really up in arms over posts about the stuff.....as I've actually seen today on this forum, lol.
