Seems like we're finding out there were more and more cultures that did that. It was an honor to be sacrificed for your people o.O Blood is our life force so I guess it's natural for their gods to demand it. Crazy/awesome show! Love it! Glad it's on History Channel and not HBO, it'd be totally over the top I think.

This is true. We had a nice little grocery store that went belly-up after they built the supercenter (a very small supercenter). We're somewhat stuck unless we are willing to use the extra gas to drive to another town. Our gas prices are probably better than most states but it's still too high to go very far.

I'm into book 4 and I noticed something...all I hafta say is- very sneaky Mr. GRRM!...very, very sneaky!!!

Our family lives in a fairly rural area but there is a walmart within 5 miles of us...and almost nothing else, except for a farmer's market which we frequent. Everything else is at least 20 miles away so what do you do when gas prices are so high? ...we're kinda stuck. My husband brought up a good point though, if our local wal-mart was a restaurant we would never go back because most of the things we regularly need or want are not available several days of the week or even for weeks at a time! We avoid going on weekends if at all possible and it seems they get shipments in on Tuesday so if we wait and go on Friday we might not be able to get everything on the list. We also have friends who work there and they are miserable!! Under-worked or overworked and bypassed for (seldom-available) promotions by people much younger and much less experienced!

Open Game of Thrones and those "other books" will likely fade to nonexistence.

And don't put it down until you get through book 3 (I just finished)...what a ride! Tyrion, IMO, is one of the best written characters of all time!!!

Can't wait to see the season 3premier, thank you DTV for free HBO weekend! I'll at least get to see the first episode. Then I'll have to wait for the DVDs like I did for 1+2. :(
