Tenchuu- Most of my collection is replicas, nothing too fancy. My best peice is my set of 'Official' LOR Legolas Knives with the scabbards. (My fav is a machete one my Pa's friend made for him) But I have others like hand-forged Spartan sword like those in '300', several large dragon motif ones, one almost as tall as me, a few Bowies/smaller. A few Samurai type, but nothing expensive. Nunchaku and a few throwing sets (I always think of the PS game Final Fantasy 7 when I see Masamune). My little niece and I had fun the other morning with my 66" recurve bow (totally old school, no fancy winches/wheels).I'm also a rock hound :) I have the book Aikido and the Dynamic Sphere by A. Westbrook and O.Ratti that is filled with great insights and illustrations, I got it about 15 years ago. You're right, the military is not for everybody and we would've been just as proud of my nephews had they not joined. My brother was headed down a very dangerous path and busted his butt to even get in and it did wonders for him, he's one of the best guys I know, I'd call him my hero!(that's a little sister for you though). But I too know a few I could name that were no good before and they didn't change after. Btw-I'd LOVE a grand piano!!! :) I'd take advantage of your little brother's knowledge, it might be a nice bonding experience, or rivalry as the case may be :) |

Tenchuu22- Thanks for the mental boost! I have to keep in mind how far I've come. :) Yes the $$ factor has prevented any fun MA classes I have a nice Krav Maga 5-DVD set which explains alot and has some nice demos but it doesn't compare to 1 on 1 instruction. Would love to get into Aikido (the art of throwing people :) ). One of my nephews is a 2nd degree black belt in Marine Jiujitsu. His younger bro just joined the Marines, my brother is a former Marine. My dad was in a terrible accident just before getting into the Marines. So even though I'm a chick :) a bit of bad-a** is in my blood too :) ( I have a nice sword collection) ok so I have some geek in my blood too...and proud of it OO-RAH! Sehmicor- I still sneak some treats but I've kept my cals to 1500 and under even with them. Mostly from piling on the veggies (tons of fiber). Have fun swimmimg-I'm SOOOOOO JEALOUS! We had a nice big above ground pool at our old house...I MISS IT!!! Have a great weekend you all! |

Sarah/sehmicor- sounds like you have a game plan at least. I'm working on mine. The food front is very good. Seriously can you eat too much broccoli cuz it seems to be the staple around here for me and my husband. I probably eat over 2 cups most days, lightly grilled or lightly grilled green beans/zucchini/other squash or raw peppers. I make them the biggest part of my meals and add lean meats etc. Sometimes I'll throw in a Smart Ones meal if I'm in a hurry, they seem to be one of the better of the packaged crap. Tenchuu22- I totally/completely/absolutely agree with you on not using public showers...eeeep!Hopefully your parties have a veggie plate you can fill up on first :) I also have a library of DVD programs like P90X/Turbo Jam/Turbo Fire/ ChalEAN Extreme, And yes there are parts of TurboFire and P90X especially I just am not able to physically do yet, though I do modify well. I just got copy of Jillian Michaels 30 Day shred too (as a bonus in another order for other stuff) I may give it a try as something different. But I've heard from a few on here there's some extreme parts to it too. I do incorporate my favs from the different programs that I am able to do or modify. I should say I have done that, but am on a bit of an exercise dry spell. I'm hoping to talk my friend into joining some kind of martial arts program eventually. I gotta get back to the sweating. I tend to exercise later in the evening because I hate to have to take a shower so early in the day. I'm back up a few again cuz of a few bad choices this week and no extra exercise (though I'm not sedentary by any means, however my body is very efficient at adapting so I really need to push it to the next level). I keep telling myself that I'm still doing great though. I've pretty much maintained my first loss (from 279 to 217, but now at 228) to within 10-15 pounds. I just gotta get back on a downward trend. I'm working on my gameplan, hmmm... to be continued... :) |

Wow, I can't believe how long it's been since I caught up with you all! So sorry if I missed something major hope you're all well! Rocktarbrooke11- I totally agree with beacher! As a gymnast you likely have more muscle than someone else of your same stats, and at 5'6" 118 seems low, but definitely talk with your doctor. Train hard, but love and take care of yourself, be a healthy athlete and you'll be an awesome athlete! Sehmicor- I let myself slip from my workouts too. Let too many projects and other things get in my way. I am making myself my priority! I've been eating so much better-grilled veggies, lean meats, I do add in 'smart ones' meals but usually add in extra veggies. Dale- I'm so happy you and Allan are seeing what developes AND AM TRULY EXCTATIC that you are finally ditching the DQ, it's a huge step in the right direction! (((BIGHUGS))) :D Amanda-meee toooo! Gota get back into sweat mode! Ya'll have an awesome Monday!-attitude is everything :) |

I was pleasantly surprised to see my fiber intake the other day at 34 grams when I didn't even eat my usual Greek yogurt with Bran Buds (awesome sweet yummy crunch!) but it was mostly in the whole top of broccoli I lightly grilled and ate! It seems like many people struggle with getting enough fiber, but if they learn to love their veggies, esp. raw or lightly grilled, it's easy to surpass your daily fiber goal. |

Age: 33 04/27/12: 237.4lbs 05/4/12: 233lbs 5/11/12: 228.2lbs Challenge Results = -9.2lbs WOOOHOOO! I haven't had this good of results in the last few challenges combined! I think a big part is focusing on a mostly 'Paleo' diet. My husband said "WHAT?!" when I told him we should go more paleo, until I told him what it was, fresh lean meats and fresh veggies and fruits etc. (which we do grill, veggies-lightly with a bit of EVOO and spices). Then he said "don't we do that already", except for a few chips and an occasional frozen 'smart one' meal, we pretty much do. I'd say we're at 70% paleo as of the last few weeks and I think it's made all the difference with my results. Hope you all are healthy and hanging in there! Happy Weekend! PS-Would those of you inclined to do so, please say an extra prayer for our Military, my 2nd nephew to go leaves for the Marines this coming week (his brother joined 2 years ago). Thank you! |

Dale- my dear buddy, I'm so sorry it didn't work out! (((HUGE HUGS))) A good cry is healthy. Life is too short to drag on something that isn't right. Sorry I didn't see your post sooner my friend, I've been gone for a few days. My first trip to Branson. Lived in MO all my life and never have been there. It was fun, but all the car riding has messed me up, going to see chiro asap. Lots of tornado damage down there still, from a month or so ago. I hope your week off help at least a little. (((MORE HUGS))) Amy/Maggie- I bought an elliptical several years ago, but it was very awkward for me. I gave it to my parents to use and my dad has occasionally. I think the problem (that I didn't realize at first) is that the foot pedals are set too wide apart. Check it next time you're on one and see if it's the same for you. (my pa's much taller over 6' so it's easier I think) It's a great workout if you can stand it for long enough, but it's like walking in a tire obstacle course in the sand. It was hard for my back and knees to tolerate for long. Aprylle- I did p90x a few years ago but found it was a bit too much for me at the time. I do abripperX and a few of the others occasionally. My goal is to get fit enough with the routines I follow now to try it again next year. Kinda like putting the exclamation point on reaching my goal. :) I do ChaLEAN Extreme and Brazil Butt Lift mostly right now. Welcome to all you newposters :) I am on a great run with Round/Phase 2 of my weight loss and am hopeful to be back at my lowest of last fall very soon. Happy Supermoon weekend everyone!!!

Marion- I'm so excited for you! Is it a place you've been before or is there a certain reason for North Dakota? Hubby's job? RV is an awesome plan- turn a stressful move into a stay-away vacation :) Welcome Christina! You're among friends who can seriously relate! Amy- I was a 22 and am now a solid 18 and yes if it weren't for this 'power-glass' figure aka thunder thighs, DDD's and muscleyish arms, I'd fit into 16's and size L tops :/ I love my curves, I just wish I could sew my own clothes so they'd fit right! We'll both be 'average' before you know it! :D Other than painting some, no WO today, tomorrow is a scheduled rest day but that would make 3 misses in a row so must do something tomorrow. Got some exercise running up and down and up and down stairs trying to figure out why our basement light wouldn't come on and neither would my parents. Bad weather today so we must've got a surge, blew out a GFI. Lots of huge hail in the area but only quarter size here. 100 injured and 1 death at local Busch Stadium after a Cardinals game, large tent blew over during a big wind gust, scary day. Y'all have a good one!! :)

Age: 33 04/27/12: 237.4lbs Challenge Change +/- = Yikes! :/ Didn't want to see that, but after the last few weeks and TOM this week, I just hafto acknowledge it and change it! Some of it is "false weight" water whatever, there's no way I gained that much in 2 weeks (10 pounds) so I hope the first part will come back off quickly. On to tomorrow :) Heyleese- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! And thanks for not giving up on this thread and on the rest of us! You've come a long way yourself and are still truckin', even with the stress of quitting smoking. Which that in itself is a phenomenal feat!!! You keep inspiring me, I can't thank you enough! :D Happy Weekend! ;) |

Dale- I gave up on OLTL when the story line got a little weird and all the young new faces came on like all at once. But I started watching it when Nathan Fillion (Firefly) played Joey :) Amy- YAY! I have a twin :D Sounds like we have some personality similarities too. I have not been blessed with children yet, but hope to someday. I am working to be under 200 by the end of summer. I tend to lose fast then get stuck for abhorrently long periods of time :/ We can get there together! This group is great we really have a wonderful support circle here. We've lost a few and gained a few (people that is) but there's a few of us who are stubbornly determined to make our goals. WO- got on a cleaning rampage in the basement and moved a ton of lumber around so I think that counts :) |

Dale-My mom and I watched One Life to Live (may it rest in peace) and General Hospital together since mostly the mid 90's (somewhat before) so I do remember Blackie and Rick and Jagger, and so many more I get confused who was on which. I was there for Jason's accident and when Stone died :(. I don't watch daily, but enough to keep up. And yeah, I had started to skip the weight update on the wii cuz it was always higher than my other scale. It's mental but it so takes the wind outta your sales even if you know you're making progress! Marion- Wow, what a move! No matter how great the relationship, a move is one of the most stressful things in a marriage. I totally understand about the animals, it'd be a big change/stress for them too. Not really fair to the animals in most situations. And there will be more animals to love where you are going, and it doesn't take away from the ones you have now and love. You want whats best for them and sometimes it means giving them up, hopefully he will see that eventually. The hugs and kisses and I love yous are the most important, I know you'll get through this! (((BIG HUGS))) Welcome ssweet1, tenchuu22, and amytclarke! Amytclarke- I'm 5'5.5", 33 and currently 235 (up from 217 last fall but down from my highest of 279) how tall are you? We could be CC twins :) I had shin problems when I used to volunteer for an equine assisted therapy place and I walked for almost 7 miles a day. Walking is so good unless you have to do it on a hard surface all the time. The stretch where you pull your foot up behind to stretch your quad helped me (pull your toes up). Or when my thighs were a bit too big for that to work I'd rest the top of my foot on a chair and dip into a stretch for my shins. WO- BBL-Sculpt (50 min.)

Heyleese- Sounds great to me :)! I hope you don't mind if I start from scratch, I don't want to be reminded of past failures and I'll be starting again on the up side of last time :(. But I have to get that mindset back that I had when I lost 60 pounds the first time (30 of which I lost just previously to joining CC). I'll see what I can take off before starting this friday :) though TOM is here this week...ugh, maybe he'll leave just in time to give me a nice downward turn :) I'm starting to get excited again :D |

Amanda- that's so sweet :) and to you too, glad you're still hanging on. I totally understand the sentiment about failure! It seems that every goal I set I don't come near (and they're not unreachable). And I don't have the school stress you do! Dale- which soap? I've always been partial to GH. :) I wore a top the church last Sunday that I tried on 2 months ago and it was much too tight in the hips, but looks good now :) so I've put on 10-15lbs but am shrinking still...hmmmm........ARRRRRRGGGHHH! I'm happy but, ugh, the dern scale. I think I'm setting myself a new goal though, under 200 by July 4th. Not outrageous if I keep focus, ok, I gotta get focus then keep it :) ...here I go.... wait, SQUIRREL! :P WO- got in 5 outta 6 days last week, yesterday was my scheduled off day, today had too many blasted interruptions, so on to tomorrow! Take care y'all! |

The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
