I guesstimate most of the time. I don't really like the idea of being too "exact" about it since I don't have a food scale and if I do, I'd probably be obsessive about it. As long as my weight is maintained healthily, I just estimate what I eat but I do it well so it's not that far off from the real count.

When people offer me "bad" food, I will either say no thank you, or eat it but not all of it. *shrug* I can't just continue eating something I don't like if I don't enjoy it. There are times when I screw up and eat too much but I will try to make it up the next day by eating better. I can't always expect everything to be healthy all the time... I let loose, so it's better not to over think it and just do my best. :)

Avocados, eggs, salmon... pretty much protein/fat will make you full for a long time in a pleasant way.

  • Use salads as side dishes instead of potatoes or bread. (watch the dressing)
  • Eat more protein and fats.
  • Having carbs is fine but choose the better kind instead like sweet potatoes or yams.
  • Squash/cucumber are awesome substitutes too.

I don't know what to say - I eat carbs every day so I feel like you can eat carbs and still be on a good healthy diet. Just focus more on better quality food in general - meaning, less processed food, more natural wholesome food.

It is just 430 calories. It's okay to eat it. The pizza that my bf eats by himself could go up to like 2,000 calories so imo, 430 calories is nothing. :)

  1. Eat mostly whole, unprocessed food.
  2. Buy what you would eat - do not lift up that candy bar from the aisle.
  3. Drink lots of water - stay away from the sugary pops.
  4. Log your calories and be honest about it.
  5. Do not eat something just because your friends are. Listen to your body. If you're hungry, eat. When you're close to getting full - stop.

I like having them in guacamole form and plain! Eat them every day - it won't be terrible if you fit them into your calorie budget. :)

Half a cup of fiber one is okay... I wouldn't call you as being "obsessed". It's processed food but it's not as bad as other cereals, so why not just eat it? If it helps you to be regular, then it's even better! :)

Sounds like you and I had the same approach: (1) eat good meals (2) have a few drinks (3) get some walking in.

Having my NY vacation... been eating a lot more, drinking a lot more hence the 2 pounds weight gain but it wasn't bad - I enjoyed every minute and I started to work out a little / walked more so it could be water retention from the cardio. *shrug* either ways, I am good! :)

I don't think it's too much. I have those nifty CL packets as well, when I feel the need to flavor my water. If it makes you drink more water, I think it's fine... though personally, it doesn't really quite quench my thirst like plain ol' water does.

Do you feel any side effects from drinking Crystal Light? If not, I suppose it's okay to just continue with what you're doing.

Check the serving size - it could be just 100 calories per serving, and a bottle could have more than 1 serving. Be vigilant when it comes to reading labels or else you'd only suffer from it. :)

I don't necessarily recommend taking supplements if you can get it firsthand from food... however, if it helps you reach the daily requirements, I don't see why not.

I personally don't take them - I am too lazy to, and it's not a habit that I develop. I try to eat as healthy as I could though..

Can you eat something that you like, but take home half of it? Your grandpa won't be there for you forever... you gotta appreciate the time spent with him. Just take it as a treat. Can you tell us what is the restaurant, so at least we can look at the menu and see what options you have. Even the most unhealthy places offer healthier options even if it's limited. :)

It's up to personal preference. I will stick to my full fat milk when I have milk because I like the flavor. ;p
