Try increasing calories 10% at a time, for two weeks. So, from 1200, go to 1320 for two weeks, then increase to 1450. Don't fret, I'm sure all will balance out :) |

I just tried this for the first time today. Some moves are familiar to the 30 Day Shred and Shred It with Weights, but all of the moves within the DVD's 4 levels are fresh. Jillian says, "I'm not mean, I'm creative!" I love the efficient combination of weights and abs, all while keeping your heart rate up. I'm definitely feeling the workout. Can't wait to report back in 30 days! |

I made it about 9 days last time I started... I'll join ya beginning tomorrow (had dance class today instead) I've been watching Biggest Loser on Hulu to get mentally prepared. I kind of like the way Jillian yells at people. Reminds me of my hs field hockey coach... |

I didn't lose an ounce. Ugh. I know what I did wrong. I kept careful track about 50% of the week. Kept thinking I'd "make up for it later." Wrong. Stepping it up this week. Hold me to it. How'd everyone else do? |

How about "Sunshine Cleaning"? 2 sisters go into the crime scene clean-up biz. Oooh the above recommendation for "Away We Go." Definitely recommend that one. Everyone I brought to it adored "Paper Heart." A fake-umentary about what love is. Michael Cera, can't go wrong. Speaking of Michael Cera, I really love "Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist." a fun, all-nighter chasing the mystery location of this obscure local band. For funny - "I Love You, Man." Paul Rudd is always adorable. |

As a tall girl, (I've been 5'8" since middle school), I've been conscientious of dwarfing guys. It makes them insecure when you're taller, so I have avoided heels. And, standing 6' tall in heels, i've just avoided them all together because it definitely draws attention! Most of my friends are 5'5"ish. Lately. I don't care. I'm over it, they should get over it too. My male roommate is very short, and recently told me to stop wearing 4" heels. I said no f-ing way. I am just starting to assert my femininity and I'm sorry if it immasculates you. Not my problem. So, just a rant to say, wearing heels makes me feel confident. I don't care about protecting the feelings of insecure boys any more. |

I'm in! I have lost 15 lbs this year, but have been in this fluctuating awful plateau for months. This small goal should hold me accountable. My first mini goal is to get under 170, and guess what? A 5 lb goal will do it! Since today's Thursday and we're doing Thurs weigh-ins, what a great day to start. Count me in. |

I see adults picking their noses in cars all the time. As a matter of fact, this is the only place I see adults doing this. There must be a universal false belief that car windows are uni-directional. |

I really like this thread, as a less-classic beauty myself. Just wanted to commend all the ladies for seeing that beauty isn't necessarily standardized, though that message is continuously force-fed to us. I like the OP's focus on becoming more healthy and not necessarily smaller. What level-headed ladies! |

For a slightly different spin on the religious perspective, try Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife by Mary Roach. She has a humorous, readable style that incorporates evidence and scientific speculation to the question of the afterlife. Interesting. |
