Hint has nothing artificial in it. It's not sweet at all, just has a little natural taste. But it is expensive, and it does come in plastic, and I used to only have it when offered. BUT, I figured out that I can make my own "Hint" with some mint leaves and some cold water and my Sigg. Problem solved! It's so..... refreshing! |

Best part about that: When Heart recieves the royalties for the use of their song, they have stated they will donate all of it to Obama's campaign. |

Yeah, something has to give. I just take a gripe with Repubs that preach Free Market and won't let businesses fail. Research now is saying that there are at least 90 banks in danger of failing. I work for a bank. It's almost frightening how unorganized, disjointed, and poorly everything runs. |

Original Post by clairelaine: I truly hope you didn't take my jab at corporations asking for a bailout personally. As someone who grew up destitute, I empathize strongly with people like yourself. Please don't think that I think people who have been harmed the most by the corporations are whiners. |

Right on, Nomo. Because the last time I couldn't pay my bills, I wasn't given a bailout. *whines* But I don't want to cut off my cable! |

No, Peaches, but that your father's friend should have his work and labor covered, cost wise, but that he isn't creating a huge profit which he then passes on to others. Your father's friend isn't the norm when speaking of government contractors.
Here's a list of the top 100 IT government contractors, who are taking government contracts, and passing that money on to their shareholders. Please note that these are for profit ventures. |

Peaches, you do realize, don't you, that people in not-for-profits get paid, right? The difference is, that the organization as a whole doesn't create a profit for "shareholders" and therefore aren't doing whatever it takes to make that profit. |

And yet even the "free market" people aren't practicing what they preach, with big bailouts to stop banks and GM from going under. Even they can't really let the market be. |

You know, we're kidding (kind of) but I lived in an economically expanding NW Indiana suburb of Chicago last year. And actually went hell bent on a Libertarian streak. And then I moved to the South Side of Chicago. And it took about two weeks for me to stop feeling so Libertarianish. |

Do they get to stay in one of their homes? Or can we put them in an apartment in the "rough part" of town? Pretty please. |

Original Post by qaowk: I was merely comparing an "elite" to the person calling that person an "elite". In a time when people are losing their homes to foreclosure, Cindy McCain wore the equivalent to a 3 bedroom house in Scotsdale to the convention. Since Cindy was wearing an outfit that was worth MORE than Barack and Michelle's combined income in 2004, maybe SHE should be the one helping out the Obamas with their wardrobe. |

My favorite is Octopus. Get some octopus, grilled or even baked, and ask for your sides to be vegetables -- preferably not something that's been baked for hours in olive oil, but something like green beans. |

Original Post by lysistrata: A $300,000 ensemble. But.... Obama's the elitist. And since her husband can't remember how many houses he owns, I wonder whether or not he counts her outfit from the other night. I mean, her outfit could have bought 2,000 of Michelle Obama's outfits from the week before (at $148). 2,000 dresses would be enough to dress every woman over 25 in Sarah Palin's town where she was a mayor. Let's keep things in perspective, shall we? |

Original Post by laura42: Because the vast majority of women getting abortions are poor. If you can't afford to have an abortion from a real doctor because your health care is too high, you "are forced to seek out unsafe, illegal abortions". That is why clinics get funding. Not to mention that clinics like Planned Parenthood get so much funding from the government, and only a little goes to abortions -- the rest goes to keeping women healthy and keeping women who don't want to be pregnant from getting pregnant (and preventing the need for some women to get abortions). Instead of outlawing abortions, we as a society should look to reduce the number of them. I want women to have the choice, but really, if women didn't have to face that decision, that's the best situation, really. So increase funding for sex ed, contraceptives, and clinics which help women understand their bodies and how to significantly reduce the chances of being pregnant. Increase social programs that will make it economically feasible for a young, single woman with little to no health care, carry a baby to term, and then have a means to support said baby. Numbers will drop. |

Yes! And while spinning. The best way to combat it is to make sure you are brining the heel of your foot completely down so that your toes are elevated through part of the elliptical. But, if your toes still get tingly, then you want to wiggle them in your shoe if possible. If that doesn't work, go up onto your toes as if you're wearing heels and do 45 seconds like that. That's my typical course of action when this happens, and it usually works for me. |

Palin: Taxes are too high ... he wants to raise them. His tax increases are the fine print in his economic plan, and let me be specific. The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes ... See for yourself what your taxes will be under both Obama and McCain: http://alchemytoday.com/obamataxcut/ Who is Sarah Palin talking to? The wealthy people of this country who have over $5,000,000? Because that's what McCain considers "wealthy", and that's where McCain draws the lines in his tax bracket. |

The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
