So busy just got back yesterday and worked today.

Hope everyone had a great new years :D

I did good I think on maintaining but I think to much indulging the past several days of course. I feel a need to make sure I counter and decide on next plan on goals.

Anyone have any ideas?

Shockingly, I lost a pound well it was teetering on the scale but it did look like it and I was not fully undressed (mostly but not fully).

Yesterday and today I have seem to have a loss of appetite forcing calories down my throat (doing the meal replacements to help add some cals). Maybe I am coming down with something, I have been on and off nauseous and on and  off hot/cold.

I am glad a lot of you survived thanksgiving ;)

Well, I did really well for about half the week.  So that's something I guess.  Unfortunately fell off again.  Sigh.  My appetite has been in absolute overdrive.  (no, not pregnant).  To a certain extent I'm just a little tired of the whole thing, but when I stop counting I fall back to my old routine in the blink of an eye.  Hoping whatever it is that is affecting me (and everyone else here) straightens up soon.

I hear ya, I did all you can eat sushi (didn't count just threw a guess), what was I thinking :P Well I didn't do that bad I am sure but yea :P

Retaining about 2lbs but I had high-ish sodium so I am not overly worried :) Crazy days but I think I am starting to get sorted :)

A personal day in Ontario is not a sick day, in which you get I believe 1 per month, but it can come from your accumulated vacation days, so I took 3.

I had informed my manager 2 months prior that I would be taking off those days which left her with plenty of time to fill my shifts (not screwing her over last minute). Another time that I needed time off was flying out of province to attend my aunts funeral. I have been here over a year and have only ever called in sick once.

Either way it was a question of "what would you do", not the legalities behind it all. I am a law student and am fully aware an employer can't punish you for needing time off, unless it is a regular habit, in which case it isn't at all for me. Just wanted an outside opinion.

Sounds like ATOs (accumulated time off) (they are not vacations and not sick days (but I think can be transferred from sick days not taken the year before?) but some use them with vacation days I believe), my dad has them (usually when he mentions them he has 16-20 of them at that time) he is in a union and some times his schedule along with others can almost force managers for them to take time off (for about a couple-few weeks this year my dad had 3 day weeks because of too many employees on and zero taking vacation but once vacations start if anyone takes a non-scheduled time off it mucks up everyone). To me this sounds like usual union BS my dad vents about once in a while when management screws up or doesn't care (or just poor management). He too like never calls in sick (I remember like once in a 2-3 year time frame type deal).

Further issues with same (poor) management and tracking time off we have a 2-3 month period of multiple family and friend deaths (deaths on both sides) and my dad wasn't able to have the time off for 3 of them the family ones too because it be more than one day due to traveling time (in one case it be out of province) and since not immediate family (a great aunt, cousin and his wife's step mom)), he could have fought it I am sure but it was a 'is it worth the fight thing" (been at the same job since he was 16 turning 50 Jan 1st, with 1 year leave testing out another job but his job is too much a golden cage).

I am starting to think you have the same employer. But since his old manager transferred his current has been loads better he never complains any more :P

Back to "what would you do?" I like to play the "did I give the wrong impression on our last conversation?" and re-explain how the past conversation went. If miscommunication well ok, if straight up defiance to what you thought was agreed on I am sure that give you enough for further action.

edit/add: some clarification added. and still rather confusing  sorry I fail at clarification today :P

Oh such a long cheat weekend 2 surplus days! : /

I think a combination of stress, bad weather and "inc TMI" irregularity really threw me off. When you feel like crap and the body isn't running it's usual course it does not help with work stress (but stressing over stupid things you shouldn't be stressing over or at least get over after the fact) and rainy cold weather (especially when you stand in it for about 2 hours on purpose to show support to another).

My shifts seems to run weird and really has me without 2 days off in a row and some full days most 1/2 days but at least I have a job, I just feel 0 motivation do do workout since my job is decently physical but since not that physical I seem to be eating more but not sure if I really burn that much more X / BLAH  ; /

So yeah I think a rough start out the gates a bit but I am still gonna keep up what I can!

Fitness abs for females Nov 07 2012

I have been on and off weight lifting since May and eating at a deficit for about a year (for the most part last month I have been more eating for maintaining). I am an apple shape (so i'll never have a less than 26 inch waist unless I am underweight, I think I'll be lucky with a 26-27 range (I am about a 28-29 range depending on time o f day/retention etc I am 5'8")) but I have partial line down the center of my abs, hip and ribcage definition and slight 11 abs. I am probably about 20% bf according to online cals (so not completely accurate) and about 21-22 BMI.

But I still have lower ab fat/love handles and back fat just less since spring. I'd say if I lost 1-2 inches off my waist I'd have official defined abs but I do not think they'd be 6 pack (and I don't want them, defined to an extent but 4-6 pack may be too much).

In losing weight, inches and gaining definition I have recently realized something I want something I cannot have 'a pear shape waist' (a defined waist more than defined abs). I am next between a size 4-6 in clothes depending on brand but have the waist size of 6-8, not a big deal but when that is what I want to change it proves annoying. I am going to still try to lose BF% to improve my core (but at this rate mostly reduce back fat/love handles, which seems to me has more fat than my abs).

I think I am at the crossroads where I could try less and just maintain or try hard for slight improvements or go full throttle for the best I can get with what I got. I am between 'try less and just maintain or try hard for slight improvements'. After a year+ of eating at a deficit and 6 month or on off weight lifting (3-4 months of actual lifting), I want to take it a bit easy but I don't want to stop either I just have to survive the Nov-Jan stretch :P

Grats neighbors! I was as nervous as Bush/Gore election for you guys. Hope the next four years go well :) I get more nervous about US elections than Canadian :P

Sorry MkayPBA17, I hope the next four years turns out good for you in any case despite your disappointme nt. I was not happy about our Prime Minister and I voted only to not have him in and he hasn't left but things didn't go to hell either. Middle class in Canada isn't a peach either.

Shocked, really that I maintained my eating has been horrible (but basically at a calorie deficit or at par) but it tends to go that way this time of years family buys less fruit and veg and more junk and it is just easier eating whats there (especially grabbing food for work lunches).

I am also retaining I think cause bed lines all over my face this morning hopefully that means I may be in the official 130s???? :P

Fall/Winter is hard last year I took a break from counting calories Nov-till mid Jan (which was when I joined cc). But I am really glad I decided to keep counting this time around :)

I'm in the maintenance zone although I'm still trying to hit my ultimate goal weight. Starting weight (jan 1) 185.5 , current weight 133.6, goal weight 132, maintenance range 130-134 lbs.

So awesome runoff!!!!

I am hoping for losing 3-5lbs, lose 1-1.5 inches off the waist and/or lose 1-2% bf% but if I maintain that is fine (just no gain!).

Challenge sw: 140lbs

Challenge gw: 133-137

Challenge sm: about 36C-28/29-36

Challenge gm: 36C-27-36

Challenge sbf%: about 21ish%

Challenge gbf%: 18-20%

(it has been a while since i measured and I was bloated/retaining for a while so I am not confident on measurements)
